为规范本市公共场所的英文译写，进一步提升城市文明形象，推动上海国际化进程，根据《中华人民共和国国家通用语言文字法》《上海市实施〈中华人民共和国国家通用语言文字法〉办法》《上海市人民政府关于加强本市公共场所英文译名使用管理的若干意见》《上海市公共场所中文名称英译基本规则》以及国家和上海其他相关法律法规、规范标准的有关规定，制定本标准。

DB 31/T 457《公共场所英文译写规范》分为十个部分： 2 ——第1部分：通则；

本部分适用于旅游景区、景点等实体名称，旅游类设施及功能信息、警示和提示信息的英文译写。
