The earth goes around the sun.地球围绕太阳转。
表示永恒的真理,即使过去的语境中,仍用一般现在时。

在时间、条件和让步状语从句中,一般现在时可以代替一般将来时。

在the more… the more… (越......越......)句型中,若主句是一般将来时,从句通常用一般现在时。

英文书信格式
英文书信格式包括信的格式和信封的格式。
英文信件,特别是私人信件,通常包括以下五个部分:
1.信头(heading)
2.称呼(salutation)
3.正文(body)4谦称和结束语
(complimentary close)5 签名(signature)
如有必要,可在签名之后加一个附加语(postscript),通常写成P.S.
上述五个部分在信笺中的格式如下:
1 信头(heading)包括写信人的地址和写信日期,通常放在信笺的右上角,
顺序是先写地址,后写日期。
地址和日期的写法都要符合英语的习惯。
写地址应由小到大:门牌号码、街名、城名(县)、省名、国名。
这同汉语的习惯完全相反。
日期有两种写法:(1)月、日、年(如June 8th,2006);(2) 日、月、年(如8th June,2006).一般说来,美国用第一种写法,英国用第二种写法。
正式的商务信函,一般在信的左上方写收件人的地址,位置比右上方写收件人的地址,日期要低一至两行。
2 称呼(salutation)是指写信人的称谓,应根据写信人和收信人的关系而定。
英语信里的称呼一般以Dear…或My dear…开头。
给亲属写信时在Dear 或My dear 后面加上表示亲属关系的词即可,例如Dear Dad,Dear Uncle,My dear Grandma等;写给小辈或平辈可直呼其名,如Dear Xiaojun,Dear Charlie,My dear Mary等;写给不太熟悉的人常在Dear或My dear 后加上某先生某太太等。
如Dear Mr—姓。
3.正文(body)是书信的主体部分,是写信人给收信人要讨论或陈述的内容。
正文要求文字简洁达意,层次分明,字迹清楚。
注意英文书信不像中文那样用“你好”开头。
如果写回信,通常先提到收到对方的信,并表示谢意,如Thank you for your letter of …..
然后再回答对方的问题,或者陈述自己的意见。
4.谦称和结束语(complimentary close)位于正文之后,它相当于中文书信末尾的“祝你健康” “此致敬礼”“弟…..敬上”等。
谦称有尊卑亲属之分,要与收信人的称谓相配合。
例如,在熟悉的人之间用Sincerely yours, Yours sincerely.在不太熟悉应客气的人之间用Truly yours,Yours truly. 注意,在谦称致敬语之后,必须加上逗号。
结束语通常写在正文最后一行的下面,通常用的结束语有:Best wishes /regards!良好祝愿谨致问候!wishing you good luck/success!祝你走运/成功!Give my love/regards to……!向……问好!
5.签名(signature)签名的位置应在谦称致敬语下面的一至两行,除了熟悉或亲密的人以外,签名必须签全名。
英文信封的写法同中文信封的写法不同,注意两点:
1 收信人的姓名和地址写在信封的中央位置,先写姓名后写地址,通常用并列式(每行左边对齐)。
2 写信人的姓名和地址通常写在信封的左上角,也是先姓名后地址,姓名也可不写。

连接性状语的作用是承上启下,疏通思路,理顺关系,使一段话或一篇文章的内容表达更加严谨,清楚。
因此把握好连接性状语的使用,对于提高阅读能力及写作能力有着重要的意义。
1.表列举和顺序的连接性状语
First(ly). Second(ly). Third(ly)……(首先,其次,再则…),one.tow.three……(第一,第二,第三…),for one thing…for another…(一方面,另一方面) 2.表意义增补和引申的连接性状语
Besides(此外),above all(首先),what’s more(再者),what’s worse(更糟糕的是),furthermore(而且)。
3表概括和总结的连接
In a word(总之),generally speaking(总之),in short(简而言之),in conclusion(最后)等。
3.表同位关系
In other words(换句话说),that is to say(也就是说),for example(例如),
namely(也就是)等。
4.表意义转折
On the contrary (恰相反),on the other hand(另一方面),but(但是),instead(此外),however(然而)等。
