Consult HYDAC for price and deliveryIntroductionOur complete line of flow control valves are designed and manufactured by our ISO 9001 certified FLUTEC Division.Description• T he HYDAC family of flow control valves permit safe, simple and repeatable control of hydraulic fluids at operating pressures to 5000 psi.• T he standard slotted control spindle allows for a wide range of infinitely variable flow adjustments with excellent flow characteristics.• P recise adjustment of flow is achieved by a micrometer style adjustment knob featuring a color coded flow indicator for accurate, easy-to read visual flow reference.• D esign modifications and special materials are available for corrosive fluids such as phosphate ester, acids and caustics.Valve DesignHYDAC flow control valves can be adjusted easily and precisely by means of the control knob. Increasing the number of turns from the fully closed position provides a steady increase of the flow rate. The colored scale permits accurate repetition of settings and the colored triangle on the rising spindle provides a visual indication of the increasing cross section of the flow area. A set screw on the side locks the knob at the desired setting.HYDAC flow control valves include a unique safety spindle design feature. As the valve spindle is turned counter-clockwise, the spindle shoulder will engage the safety screw limiting the travel of thespindle. The hardened, high-strength steel safety screw is sealed in position to discourage tampering.Flow Control Valve Design Features and OptionsGuided PoppetA BDV, DVE, & DVP SeriesNeedle ValvesModel CodeDV - 06 - 01 .X / 5 - S - MNeedle Valve DV = Inline Mounting DVP = Manifold Mounting DVE = Cartridge ValveNominal Sizes DV & DVP SAE (DV only) NPT F (DV Only) BSPP (DV Only)Nom.

ZHA & ZBA Series Heat Reactivated Desiccant DryersZHA & ZBA Series Externally Heated and Blower Purge Desiccant Air DryersParker Zander Externally Heated and Blower Purge Desiccant Air Dryers use the adsorption method to remove moisture from compressed air. Nominal pressure dew points ranging from -40°F (-40°C) to -100°F (-70°C) are achieved by directing the flow of saturated compressed air over a bed of desiccant. The most commonly used desiccant is activated alumina, a spherically shaped, hygroscopic material, selected for its consistent size, shape and extreme surface to mass ratio. This physically tough and chemically inert material is contained in two pressure vessels commonly referred to as “dual” or “twin” towers. Asthe saturated compressed air flowsthrough the bed of the “on-line”tower, its moisture content adheresto the surface of the desiccant. The dry compressed air is thendischarged from the vessel into thedistribution system. An Allen Bradley® PLC cycles theflow of compressed air between thetowers. While one tower is “on-line”drying, the other tower is “off-line” regenerating. Regeneration, sometimes referred to as “purging”,is the process of stripping theaccumulated moisture from the “off-line” bed. Both types of Parker Zander heatreactivated dryers combine heatwith either a small portion of thedried compressed air or with forcedambient air to affect regeneration. The heated, low pressure purgeair flows gently through theregenerating bed, adsorbing themoisture that accumulated on thesurface of the desiccant during thedrying cycle and exhausting it to theatmosphere.0212/fafFlow SchematicParker Zander’s patented Multi-Port Regeneration System (TWP Series) affects superior desiccant bed regeneration and, as a result, provides better and more consistent performance. The Multi-PortRegeneration System injects heated purge air at precise points up and down the towers’ length providing a more balanced distribution of heat. This system prevents the desiccant on top from prematurelydeteriorating while providing the bottom of the chamber with enough heated purge air to allow complete regeneration on every cycle. The energy saving temperaturemonitoring system senses the exiting purge air temperature. When the purge air temperature increases to a pre-set point at which the desiccantZHA Externally Heated withPatented Multi-Portpre-exhaust valvemain-exhaust valveair inexhaust mufflersd r y i n gh e a t e rpurge regulatorair outinlet valver e g e n e r a t i n gZBA Series Blower Purgepre-exhaust valvemain-exhaust valveair inexhaust mufflersblowerd r y i n gh e a t e rr e g e n e r a t i n gcooldown valveair outinlet valvebed is fully heated and regenerated, the heater is turned off.Parker Zander’s Primary Blowdown System is standard on all ZHA Series and ZBA Series heat reactivated air dryers 1000 scfm and larger. It improves performance and efficiency while increasing desiccant life. The depressurization stage alsostrips moisture from the bottom of the tank through a purge muffler. Once depressurization is complete, the system switches to the main exhaust where final regeneration is accomplished with low pressure purge air. By eliminating the main exhaust mufflers, back pressure is also eliminated which allows formore thorough regeneration and less maintenance.Up Flow Versus Down Flow Drying In the event of prefilter/auto drain failure, up flow drying protects the desiccant bed from contamination of bulk liquids and oil since they stay on the bottom of the tank and get discharged during blowdown. With downflow drying, any liquids put into the dryer by inefficient pre-filtration or drain failure will collect at the bottom of the vessel. As a result of this liquid presence, the upflow regeneration cannot lift the liquid slugs through the entire desiccant bed, resulting in liquid being sent downstream at tower switch over.Note:The exhaust is typically overhead and can present a safety concern with downflow drying.04 12Information CenterCParker Zander Division’s touch screen interface controller comes in an all inclusive package for all of our heated and blower purge dryers. These dryers ranging from 200 scfm and larger include an LCD user interface and responsive data retrieval for all your important dryer information. Desiccant dryers are designed to adsorb vapor from compressed air, they are not designed for liquid. When liquid, especially oil, is allowed to enter the desiccant chamber, it coats the desiccant material preventing any further adsorption. Oil coated desiccant can not be regenerated, and must be replaced. The coalescing pre-filter is installed at the dryer inlet. It protects the dryer by removing liquids and reducing the contamination level of the compressed air. A differential pressure gauge is provided to determine element condition. An automatic float drain is providedCompressed Air Quality to ISO 8573.1 - the industry standard method for specifying compressed air cleanlinessThe ISO 8573.1 international standard forcompressed air quality provides a simple system of classification for the three main contaminants present in any compressed air system - Dirt, Water, and Oil. To specify the quality classrequired for a particular application, simply list the class for each contaminant.on systems 10 through 6000 scfm to ensure proper drainage. To protect downstream equipment from desiccant dust, a hightemperature particulate after-filter is installed at the dryer discharge. The after-filter element is designed to remove solid particulates from compressed air. The hybrid pleated filter media provides high dirt retention, low pressure drop, and long element life. A differential pressure gauge is provided to determine element condition.(Standard, Package “B” ZHA/ZBA200 - ZHA/ZBA800)Includes dryer with factory installed pre-filter and after-filter with system bypass(optional DTA 1000 & larger)(Standard, Package “F” ZHA/ZBA1000 & Larger)Includes dryer with shipped loosepre-filter and after-filter(Optional, Package “D”)Includes dryer with factory installed dual selectable pre and after-filters with systembypassPackage SchematicIn-line Filter(ZHA/ZBA200 and larger)/fafEnergy savings can be achieved with the proven Ecotronic energy management system.Regeneration requirements are dependent on flow, pressure and temperature. The Ecotronic system allows the cost of drying compressed air to be matched exactly to your plant conditions.Ecotronic controls the drying cycle by continuously reacting to the loading under which the dryer is operating and minimizes the energy input required. As dryers rarely operate at full rated capacity all of the time (eg. during shift work and periods of low demand), this energy management system will provide considerable savings.Ecotronic Energy Management System StandardHeated Dryer ControllerPower Saver State - Green background0812High Performance ComponentsAngle Seat ValvesDryers up to 800 scfm are equiped with angle seat valves. Versittile and durable best describes these valves which can surpass millions of cycles.Actuated Butterfly ValvesHigh Performance Actuated Butterfly Switching Valves are standard on dryers 1000 scfm and larger. These premium, air operated butterfly valves are specifically designed for compressed air. They provide more opening and closing force compared to other types of valves. An indicator shows the “opened/closed” position of the valve and service can be performed without disturbing dryer piping.Tower insulationThe tower, heater, and purge lines are insulated to increase dryer performance and efficiency by reducing radiant heat loss. It also keeps the unit within the safety parameters set forth by OSHA.Insulation suitable for indoor service is standard on all Parker Zander heat reactivated dryers (Insulation suitable for outdoor service is an available option).Angle Seat ValvesZHA/ZBA200 - DHA/DBA800Actuated Butterfly Valves ZHA/ZBA1000 & Larger• High performance poppet valve• Stainless steel body • Stainless steel internals • PTFE seal• Air activated, spring return • Visual position indicator on exhaust valves• ANSI Class VI shutoff • Long service life • Repair kits available •5 year valve warranty• High performance butterfly valve • Non-lubricated • Carbon steel body• Stainless steel internals • RTFE seat• Double offset stem and disc design for reduced seatwear and zero leakage • Repair kits available •5 year valve warrantyValves - 5 Year Warranty/fafStandard EquipmentOptionsAllen Bradley ® PLC • 7” LCD Touchscreen• All critical information available • Automatic data loggingEcotronic TM Energy Demand Control • Digital dewpoint readout • Digital dewpoint control • High humidity alarm • Repressurization circuitFactory Installed Filtration (ZHA/ZBA 200-800)• Single point connection for system integrity • Differential pressure indicators for element condition • Filter drain(s)Switching Valves• Five year switching valve warranty frommanufacturer’s defects (see warranty policy)Heater• Five year heater warranty frommanufacturer’s defects (see warranty policy)Additional Features• Energy savings temperature monitoring system • Heatless backup mode• Separate tower pressure gauges • Exhaust mufflers with safety relief • ASME/CRN vessels • Tower insulation• Desiccant fill and drain ports • Safety relief valves• Stainless steel diffuser screens • Control air line filter• ETL listed (UL/CSA standards)• LED din connector(s) all solenoid valves • 480 VAC power (other options available -consult factory)• Steel base ZHA/ZBA 1000 and larger • Two year dryer warranty (parts and labor)• Custom filter packaging • All NEMA classifications• Control air tubing - stainless steel• Low ambient package (-20°F to +40°F air temperature)• Instrumentation–Locally mounted pressure and temperature gauges at inlet and outlet • ASME B31.3 piping • Corrosion allowanceContact Factory for additional options, customization, and specificationsMEMBER OFEngineering Data Specifications10 12Product Selection -40°F (-40°C) with Activated Alumina DesiccantNotes1. Leading liquid desiccant technologyAlfa Laval Kathabar dehumidi fi cation systems are engineered solutions for temperature and humidity control for industrial, commercial, educational, institutional and green/LEED facilities. These cost-effective dehumidi fi cation and energy recovery systems have been usedto clean and dehumidify air for a wide range of industries worldwide – including pharmaceutical, investment casting, healthcare, cold storage, food and beverage, and many more. These systems help to improve the reliability, economy and ef fi ciency of any manufacturingor processing operation that is humidity, temperature or microorganism-sensitive. Whether your space conditions are 78°F and 20% RH, 45°F and 40% RH, or -20°F and -40°F dew point, the Alfa Laval Kathabar system can provide controlled conditions – resulting in an improved bottom line. Bene fi ts of liquid technology:• Simultaneous dehumidi fi cation anddirect air coolingSimple design provides high energy ef fi ciency• Microbiological decontaminationEffective biocide captures and neutralizesairborne pathogens• Performance reliabilityNon-vaporizing desiccant has in fi nite life• Energy savings – 100% modulationcapacityLess energy is required to operate than drydesiccant or mechanical refrigeration systems• Precise humidity control (+/-1%RH)Fully adjustable humidity level based on liquiddesiccant concentration and temperature• Frost-free coolingTemperatures as low as -60°F with no coil tofreeze up or defrost• FRP (fi berglass) non-metallic industrialconstructionLong equipment life, reliability and reducedmaintenance• Design fl exibilityUse of hot water or low pressure steamfor regeneration (including waste heat);multiple conditioners with single centralizedregenerator; vertical and horizontal air fl oworientations availableEconomic value comparisonWith increased awareness of energy costs, companies evaluatethe total cost to own and operate equipment, rather than initialcost alone. An Alfa Laval Kathabar evaluation considers thefi rst cost, installation cost and operating costs for dry and liquiddesiccant dehumidi fi cation systems. We then calculate the costfor various systems and present the economic value comparisonbased on speci fi c ASHRAE local weather data, customers’actual energy costs and system operating schedule. To ensure the evaluation does not leave anything up to question,we then compare both liquid and dry desiccant systems toconventional refrigeration systems, in order to determine thebest solution for your speci fi c needs. Simply ask your AlfaLaval Kathabar representative to prepare an economic valuecomparison for your application.Sea level imperial unitsTemperature (°F)Humidityratio(gr/lb)Advanced dehumidi fi cation systemsPerformance guaranteeLike-new dehumidi fi cation performance can be achievedthrough the life of the equipment – regardless of reapplication, relocation or airborne contaminants. Alfa Laval Kathabarprovides free Kathene® liquid solution laboratory checks for allinstallations. To take advantage of this free service, customersare asked to send a small sample of Kathene from theirequipment to our laboratory every six months.Through this process, the Kathene solution can be maintainedat maximum dehydrating capacity, which ensures the desiredperformance of the unit. This free Kathene solution testingservice can also identify potential impurities in the systems, allowing for adjustments even while equipment is in operation. How it works Alfa Laval Kathabar liquid desiccant dehumidi fi cation systems operate on the principle of chemical absorption of water vapor from air. The absorbent solution, Kathene, is a desiccantsolution composed of lithium chloride salt and water. Kathene is non-toxic, will not vaporize, and is not degraded by common airborne contaminants. The ability of Kathene to remove or add water vapor from the air is determined by the temperature and concentration of the solution. The concentration of Kathene can be adjusted to deliver air at any desired relative humidity between 18%and 90%. For a given Kathene concentration, lower solution temperatures enable the conditioner to deliver cooler, dryer air.The illustration below shows the basic elements of an Alfa Laval Kathabar system. In operation, air to be conditioned is cooled and dehumidi fi ed by contacting Kathene in the conditioner. By continuously circulating the desiccant through a heat exchanger, energy is extracted from the air and transferred to a coolant. The amount of heat extracted by the Alfa Laval Kathabar dehumidi fi er is modulated to exactly match the load by controlling coolant fl ow through the heat exchanger.Process airProcess airEnd-suction pumpEnd-suction pumpLiquid desiccant systems overviewAlfa Laval Kathabar offers a full line of liquid desiccant system series including, FV , FH, FP and SP . There are common features to the systems, along with features unique to each system. Application speci fi cations including air fl ow capacities, heat sources, space limitations and power requirements determine which liquid desiccant system will provide the best solution.Alfa Laval Kathabar FV – Vertical discharge conditionerIdeal for all applications. The FV design has the greatest latent and sensibleperformance, lowest unit air pressure drop, smallest footprint and lowest equipment cost. The conditioner can be designed with process fans available in upblast, front or rear air discharge arrangements. Units up to 25,000 CFM are available as packaged units, with pump and heat exchanger factory mounted on an extended skid base with desiccant piping complete. The vertical unit applies to industrial buildings and production rooms which often have limited fl oor space and high ceilings. They also have the fl exibility to incorporate multiple conditioners and a single regenerator.Alfa Laval Kathabar FH – Horizontal discharge conditionerIdeal for all applications. The FH design is best suited for applications where space height limitations prohibit the use of the FV series. These units also fi t well whenprocess air is being delivered to horizontal AHU’s and can easily be used in custom airhandling units for a total packaged indoor or outdoor installation. Like the FV series, units can be supplied with the pump and heat exchanger factory mounted and piped on an extended skid base.FH conditioners are commonly applied to commercial buildings or penthouses which do not have the head room required by the FV conditioners. Applications such as hospitals and labs often require the FH approach.Alfa Laval Kathabar FP – Fiberglass packed regeneratorIdeal for all applications. The packed tower regenerators are used with all FV and FH conditioners. The range of unit sizes are available in moisture removal capacities from 120#/Hr to 6000#/Hr. The high ef fi ciency contact packing and use of external heat exchangers offers unlimited design fl exibility capable of using heat sources as low as 140°F (60°C).FP regenerator applies for most applications that have a larger moisture load or several conditioners such as breweries, food and candy manufacturing. They come in a large range of sizes and can be remotely located from the conditioner or conditioners.Alfa Laval Kathabar SP – Small packaged conditioner/regeneratorIdeal for all applications with smaller air fl ow capacities from 1500 CFM to 7500 CFM. The SP series is also a vertical air fl ow design for high ef fi ciency. These factory packaged systems are a plug-and-play designed system, requiring only plant utilities and power to a single point.SP units are ideal for smaller applications such as water works, casting applications, pharmaceutical drying rooms and fi lling areas. They are compact, ready to go skid mounted and packaged units.Alfa Laval Kathabar FV –Vertical discharge conditioner overview Alfa Laval Kathabar FV features:• Vertical air fl ow discharge• Optional process fan (up to 36,000 CFM)• Housing of industrial grade fi berglass construction with internal parts of non-metallic engineered plastics• Free standing pump and pump tank assembly with vertical sealless fi berglass Kathene pump • Kathene solution fi ltering• Modular design to integrate with other air system components • Inlet air fi ltration plenumsComponents:A.
