美丽中国英文演讲稿Title:Visions of Beauty: China's Journey Towards SustainabilityLadies and Gentlemen,Good afternoon. It is an immense honor to address a crowd as esteemed as this one, gathered together in our shared pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of society. Today, I would like to discuss a topic close to my heart, one that encapsulates not just the aesthetic appeal, but also the profound responsibility we hold towards our environment and future generations—the concept of a "Beautiful China."For decades, China has been synonymous with rapid economic growth and urbanization, a testament to its resilient spirit and industrious workforce. However, this exponential progress has come with significant costs. Pollution, deforestation, and a startling decline in biodiversity are just some of the environmental challenges that have emerged alongside economic prosperity. Recognizing these challenges, the Chinese government has embarked on an ambitious mission to transform its development model. This transformation is encapsulated in the vision of "BeautifulChina," which intertwines the concepts of sustainability, ecological balance, and a higher quality of life for all its citizens. The framework of "Beautiful China" is grounded in several key initiatives. The Chinese government has set strict targets to reduce carbon emissions, increase the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix, and promote green technologies across various sectors. For instance, data from the National Bureau of Statistics indicates that by 2020, China plans to bring its carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP down by 40-45% from 2005 levels. Furthermore, substantial investments are being directed toward the restoration of natural habitats and the conservation of endangered species, reflecting a commitment to preserving its rich biodiversity. One notable program is the Natural Forest Protection Project, which aims to halt the logging of primary forests and convert degraded lands into sustainable forests. This initiative not only serves to oxygenate the air we breathe but also provides habitat for countless species, thereby promoting ecological balance. Additionally, China's efforts to combat desertification through the creation of the "Green Great Wall"—a massive reforestation project along the edge of the GobiDesert—highlights an unwavering dedication to restoring and preserving invaluable ecosystems.Another cornerstone of "Beautiful China" is its emphasis on green urban spaces. Skyscrapers and bustling cityscapes are now being complemented by vertical gardens, green rooftops, and urban parks. These green pockets within urban environments serve a dual purpose—they mitigate the urban heat island effect and significantly improve air quality while providing residents with areas of respite and recreation. Data from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development show that as of 2020, over 80% of China’s cities have met or exceeded their green space benchmarks.Public awareness and participation are also crucial components of this grand vision. Educational campaigns and community engagement programs are fostering a sense of stewardship and personal responsibility among citizens. Programs such as "Green Lifestyle Choices" encourage individuals to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives, from reducing single-use plastics to participating in local recycling initiatives. This grassroots movement underscores the notion that the path toward a "Beautiful China" is not solely reliant on governmental policies but is also deeplyrooted in collective action and behavioral change.Ladies and gentlemen, the journey towards a "Beautiful China" is emblematic of a broader, global transition towards sustainability. It serves as a reminder that economic growth and environmental protection are not mutually exclusive but rather two sides of the same coin. As we continue to witness the unfolding story of China’s commitment to beauty and sustainability, we are reminded of a fundamental truth—that the beauty of our world lies not only in its landscapes and wonders but also in our collective ability to nurture and preserve it.In closing, I extend my deepest gratitude to all of you for your attention and dedication to this vital discourse. Together, let us envision a future where economic vitality and environmental harmony coexist, where the beauty of our surroundings reflects the beauty of our intentions. Thank you.。

It winds its way through the heart of China, carrying boats and ships on its mighty currents. Along its banks, you'll find lush green fields and small villages where farmers have lived for centuries. But China isn't just about mountains and rivers. We also have vast deserts, like the Gobi Desert in the northwest. Can you imagine walking across endless stretches of golden sand dunes? It's like being on another planet! And let's not forget about our forests! The bamboo forests of Sichuan are a sight to behold, with their tall, slender stalks swaying in the breeze. These forests are home to the adorable giant pandas, who munch on bamboo all day long.Talking about animals, China has so many amazing creatures! From the colorful golden monkeys to the majestic red-crowned cranes, our country is a paradise for animal lovers. But China isn't just about natural beauty; it's also a land of rich culture and history. Our country has a civilization that stretches back thousands of years, and you can see this in our ancient temples, palaces, and monuments. One of the most famous landmarks is the Great Wall of China. This massive wall winds its way across the northern part of the country, like a giant dragon guarding our land. Can you imagine how many bricks and how much hard work went into building it?Then there are the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an, an army of life-sized clay soldiers buried underground for over 2,000 years! It's like stepping back in time to the days of ancient emperors and their mighty armies. And let's not forget about our delicious food! From the mouth-watering dumplings in the north to the spicy Sichuan hotpot in the southwest, China has a cuisine to suit every taste bud. My favorite is the sweet and sour pork – yum!But what really makes China special are its people. We come from all different backgrounds and cultures, but we're united by our love for our country and our warmth towards visitors. Wherever you go in China, you'll be greeted with friendly smiles and a welcoming spirit. So, if you ever get a chance to visit China, don't miss it! From the towering mountains to the ancient temples, from the delicious food to the friendly people, China is truly a beautifuland fascinating place. I feel so lucky to call this amazing country my home.Thank you for listening, and remember – China is waiting to welcome you with open arms!。
The first and foremost thing is to let people fall in love with the city at first sight, attracting them by its unipue image. What image does Beijing intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the 2008 Olympics? It is known to all that the Beijing Municipal Government has already set the theme for the future games: New Beijing, Great Olympics. For me, the 2008 Olympics will be a great green Olympics illuminated with two more special colors, yellow and red.First, yellow is a meaningful color. The Yellow River is China's Mother River and the descendants of the Yellow Emperor. This color has a special origin and great significance for the Chinese people. Beijing is the capital of New China and previously the capital for nine dynasties in Chinese history. So, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2008 Games.Secondly, the 2008 Olympics will be a red pageant.Red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. We adore red. On big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. It is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. Red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of Beijing . Beijing , together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization. Should the 2008 Olympics be held in Beijing, the whole city will be a sea of red : the red torch, red flags, red flowers, and the radiant faces of millions of joyful people.Above all, the 2008 Olympics will be a green Olympics. Adding a green ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can't deny the fact that Beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. Striving for an environmentally appealing city has become a central task for all the citizens of Beijing. Big efforts have been made in pollution control, replanting and beautification of the city. According to a project entitled" The Green Olympic Action Plan", between 1998 and 2007, Beijing, we have invested 100 billion RMB in preserving and protecting the environment. Some 12.5 million trees and over 1 million acres of grass will be planted along the Fourth Ring Road. By then, the city's green area will make up 40% of its total. The city will also dredge its reservoirs used as a water supply to Beijing residents, controlling industrial pollution and moving out the 200 factories presently located within the city proper.Certainly, all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these green goals. For now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Eachcitizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes, United, we stand, and a green Beijing will be achieved. When our aspiration becomes a reality, it will be a unique Olympics." New Beijing, Great Olympics"; will be weaved of these three superb colors: yellow, red and green.Let us welcome it and look forward to it! Thank you!3 中国美食Chinese FoodChinese are famous for their cuisine. Chinese are the ultimate gourmet. Especially in south China, they would say they'd eat everything that has four legs besides the dinner table, everything that has two wings besides a plane. Many of the dishes served in China may really surprise newcomers. And many of these dishes are so called medicinal dishes believed to have extraordinary nutritional value, including Shark Fin, Swallow Nest.Snake soup is among the most treasured soups in China. Then there are also snake gall and blood mixed in liquor which supposedly will brighten your eyes. Some "westernized" Chinese would suggest that if Adam and Eve had been Chinese we humans would still be in the Garden of Eden as they would have eaten the snake.Chopsticks are the main table utensils in China. Chinese children starts with a spoon but will adapt to chopsticks as early as when he just turns one. As a gift chopsticks symbolize straightforwardness, because of its shape. Chinese chopsticks don't have pointed tip, unlike the Japanese style that is refined to pick out the bones for their main diet, fish. Chinese chopsticks are mostly of bamboo, but today there are more and more wooden ones and plastic ones. Foreigners are not expected to use chopsticks proficiently, but if they do, they will give a mighty impression. Therefore before you go to China, go to the local Chinese restaurant, if not to find authentic Chinese food, at least you can practice the use of chopsticks. If in your first meal in China you don't have to use chopsticks, then if you still can't handle the two sticks to pick up a big shrimp in your tenth meal, you show your incompetence in learning and the willingness to learn.评论|002009-01-26 10:53gotokenya|十六级Shenzhen is a young city. Twenty-four years ago, it did not exist. The area comprised just a few fishing villages when the Chinese government decided to open a special economic zone near Hong Kong. Now it has a population of more than 7 million. When I came here in 1994 for an internship, my boss told me, "If you are old, you should go to Beijing. If you're young, you should come here." In Shenzhen, there's no sense of seniority. Everybody is evaluated on their merit. It's an immigrant city, and it's quite free from the traditional culture. Every aggressive Chinese person comes here to pursue their dream. In 2000, I helped try to build a Nasdaq-like market for China. But then the Nasdaq bubble burst, and there were many scandals on the main board in China. The Chinese government got more and more worried, so it decided to suspend the market's development. Instead, it agreed to build a market for small and midsized enterprises. Unlike what we were trying to establish in 2000, the SME board isn't lowering the listing requirements. The SME board requires that companies be profitable for the past three years.I learned a big lesson: You must be patient. The main difference between China's economic reform and the reform in Russia is that China is taking a path of gradualism. The society and economy are so complex, you cannot see all of the difficulties and all of the outcomes. You have to be cautious. I tried to create the ideal market overnight. Even so, grassroots companies are China's future. They're growing fast, and their leaders are clever visionaries. These companies have long been denied access to capital markets. No more.。
