什么是同义替换呢?

同义替换即将同一意思通过不同的方式、不同的角度进行表达。

它是为了表达的丰富性与多样性而存在的。

而在雅思听力的考试中，同义替换与信息陷阱、逻辑关系一起，构成贯穿在雅思听力考试中的三大难点。

其实，雅思听力中的同义替换除了近义词替换，还包括同根词替换、类别词替换、数量词替换。

本文就为考生具体介绍这四种同义替换形式。

一、雅思听力同义替换之近义词替换

顾名思义，近义词替换是通过近义词的方式来展示题目和录音内容的联系，这种同义替换也是所有同义替换类别中最基本、最容易掌握的形式。考生若是对单词的近义词十分熟悉，那么便可以轻松解决这类问题。

例1 Most useful language practice： learning 23 vocabulary

(《剑5》Test 2 Section 3第23题)

分析 该题是一道表格填空题，需要考生补充最有用的语言练习是什么。通过审题，考生可以发现本题的最佳定位词应该是vocabulary，而空格中缺少的应该是一个修饰vocabulary的定语成分。根据定位词vocabulary，考生可以在录音中听到这句话：“I also learnt some

technical words that I hadn’t heard before.”在这句话中，考生发现通过一个正式和非正式的同义词转换，题干中的定位词vocabulary在录音中被替换为words，由此考生就找到了答案信息所在的位置。录音中words的修饰词为technical，所以technical为本题答案。

以上是一个名词近义词替换的例子，但对于广大考生而言，在做题过程中感觉更让人头疼的是动词或形容词的近义替换，因为这类词的替换更加灵活。不过，如果考生能够掌握相应的解题方法，也可轻松解题，如下例所示。

Example 1：

原文：Computers are gainingin popularity， despite their cost.

题目：Computers are morepopular than they used to be.

原文当中的gaining in popularity题目中用morepopular than they used to be作为替换。两者在意思上属于完全一致的'同义转换，因此答案为TRUE。

Example 2：

原文：Biologically， aspecies becomes extinct when its last individual dies.

题目：In biological terms，a species is said to be extinct when only one

individual exists.

原文当中的biologically用题目的inbiological terms作为替换。Become则由issaid to

be作为替换。但是原文当中的die在题目中变成了exist， 直接相反的意思。介于最后这一处的转换与原文信息不符，可以判断出此题答案是FALSE。

1 abandon, desert, forsake, leave, give up 动词，均有“放弃”之意

abandon〓强调永远或完全放弃或抛弃人或事物等，这可能是被迫的，也可能是自愿的。

desert〓着重指违背法律责任和义务，或自己的信仰与誓言的行为，多含非难的意味。

forsake〓侧重断绝感情上的依恋，自愿抛弃所喜欢的人或物。也指抛弃信仰或改掉恶习。

leave〓普通用词，指舍弃某事或某一职业，或终止同一某人的关系，但不涉及动机与果。

genius〓语气最强，指天赋的高度才能与智力。

talent〓着重指人某方面具有可发展和倍养的突出天赋才能，但语意比genius弱。

competence〓正式用词，侧重指令人满意的业务能力与水平，达到胜任某项工作等的要求。 faculty〓指特殊的才能或智力。

gift〓着重个人的天赋的才能或在某方面的显著本领，常暗含不能用一般规律作解释的意味。 aptitude〓多指先天或后天习得的运用自如的能力，常暗示接受能力强，能迅速掌握一种学术训练或艺术技巧。

able〓最常用词，多用于褒义，着重指多方面的，经常性的，或潜在性的能力。有时也指高超、非凡的能力。
