过渡成分主要是一些起联系或说明作用的短语，段落，甚至篇章。
这些成分地把握正确的陈述顺序以及抓住文章要点是很必要的，但是正是这些过渡部分减缓了你的阅读速度。
过渡成分主要有如下作用：表明观点之间的联系；表示主题的转换；或者进一步说明已论述的观点；也可能是标作者所参考的杂志或书籍，以及向疏忽大意的读者重复已说过的内容。
过渡成分不能完成的一个任务就是传达有价值的观点或信息。
一旦离开文章的主要信息构成，这些过渡成分会变得空洞无物，同样，即使去悼阅读材料的所有过渡成分，文章的重要观点和信息照样会很清楚。
你用于阅读过渡成分的每一分每一秒都是你生命中无法弥补的宝贵时间，然而你却让它们这样白白地浪费悼。
如果你学会如何在短时间内识别这些过渡成分，并跳过它们去浏览文章的其余部分，你就能读得更快更准确。
你会发现自己在一两分钟内便能吸收数页信息。
下面告诉你几个窍门，它们能帮助你快速浏览各种长度的资料、包括手册、报告、书籍等，并迅速抓取各种要点。
这些窍门包括：不要陷于细节之中；跳过你不需要了解的部分；只阅读作者为你指出的关键要点；抓主题句和留意标志主题变化的信号。
在浏览这一阅读过程中，你需要把握的不是细节，而是要点。
人们之所以写作，多半是为了传达某种观点。
细节的作用是对观点进行阐释。
通常，你阅读的目的是为了找出某个要点或某些要点。
你需要的就是这些。
至于这些要点由哪些细节推导出来，这与你没有什么关系。
比如，你想知道2005年第一季度的汽车销售的确切数据，你可能会去查一遍介绍近年来汽车销售情况的大部分的文章。
这里，你需要迅速浏览文章的每一页，寻找数字“2005”。
当人发现2005时，微微仔细地看看随后的部分。
如果那里有你需要的信息，你的目的就达成了。
也许有时你会需要知道细节，但你完全不必要知道所有细节，你只需要知道与某个主题有关的细节就行了。
一份文件里有很多材料，有时大多数材料都与你感兴趣的没有什么联系。
只有一小部分直接与你关心的信息有关。
无论是无关的部分占三分之二，还是占十分之一，你都要跳过它们，把注意力集中用在发现和阅读你最关心的信息上。
记住，你节省下来的时间属于你自己。
大多数的报告、调研、摘要、书籍、报纸和杂志的文章的开始部分都具有很高的概括性，它们归纳了文章的基本主题和主要内容。
大多数文章的目录和章节提示也是这样。
快速浏览一下每篇文章的开头会让你知道是否有你感举的材料，或者在那一部分可以找到你感兴趣的材料。
当你在开头找不到主要论点时，那你完全可能在结尾找到它们。
因为文章的结尾部分通常是这篇文章的概括和总结，文章的主体和要点会现一次出现。
甚至，有时候已经不需要你自己去寻找文章的关键要点。
书籍、杂志、说明书，报告等各种阅读材料的作者已经为你指明了哪些要点比较重要，并且告诉你哪部分开始转入另一个话题。
几乎所有的出版物都用一些加大号的黑体字做大小标题，以提醒读者接下来讨论的可能是一个新主题。
通常，这些标题对随后的要点进行了高度概括。
你肯定在报纸、书籍、报告等各种书面材料上见过这样的标题。
此外，作者还常通过其它一些排版技术来突出一些重点内容，如斜体字、粗体字、下画线、编号、统计图表、以及字型变化等等。
所以，在多数情况下，你可以非常迅速地抓住文章的主要观点，并把注意力集中于你需要的那10%的内容上，节省你的宝贵时间。
当你根据文章的排版特点难以找到自己感举的内容，或者依据标题仍无法判断哪些部分是重点的时候，你可以试试寻找主题句，一般来说，一个段落总会有一个概括本段主要内容的重点句，也就是主题句，这个主题句通常出现在段落的开头。
段落的主题句使你更容易弄清你对哪些段落感举。
寻找主题句是非常简单的，只需要一点点练习，你就能看一眼便抓住主题句。
当你需要在一个篇幅很长的书籍或城搜寻某些具体信息时，你可以试一试下面的方法：快速浏览每个段落的第一句，看看有没有对你感举的信息进行概括，比如指明趋势，对大量事实进行总结，或阐明有关信息的意义等。
这些使你轻易地路过哪些阐述具体细节的句子或段落。
另外，你还可以通过留意主题变化的信号以提高浏览的速度。
这些“信号”会你下面将开始一个新观点，或要出现一些重要的论据。
通常，这些词在段落开头出现，所以你很容易在段落开头发现它们。
这些信号词包括“但是”、“然而”、“另一方面”等等。
一旦你发现其中某个单词，请多看两眼。
也许它引出的正是你感举的主题。
如果你不得不在时间很短的情况下从一份篇幅很长的文件里寻找某些具体信息，你就要尽量在文件里搜寻这些信号词。
每当你发现信号词时，你就会放慢阅读速度。
它表明随后将出现一个新主题。
和前面说的一样，快速一下有关的内容。
如果没有你感兴趣的内容，就继续往下。
当你阅读一份报纸、一本杂志、或者任何一篇需要花30分钟阅读的材料时，你可以做一下下面的练习。

但仅仅是浏览，而不要奢望你能理解每一个句子和细节。
一旦你觉得某个部分似乎与你需要的很有关系，或可能会反映一些重要观点时，请立即停止下来仔细阅读。
如果它的确包含了重要信息，请以平常的速度阅读，如果它并未包含重要信息，就加快阅读速度。
继续寻找值得你关注的部分。
到时间便停止阅读，再次把你记住的重要内容写下来。
对比你两次记录的观点，看看哪一次记的东西比较多。
你一定会为结果而惊讶。
多次练习之后，你一定会发现二者的差距越来越大，这说明一个事实：你的阅读技巧已经得到了提高。
研究性阅读现实生活中有各种各样的阅读。

各种类型的阅读都很重要，但不是什么时候都同等重要。
对电话簿进行详细分析和理解，不仅没有必要，而且浪费时间。
浏览饭店里的菜谱了很少需要像阅读财务报表那么专注和仔细。
反之，如果像看电话簿那样浏览课本，那么考试的时候你的成绩就可想而知了。
如果是一名学生，那么在他的正常学习生涯中，99%的阅读都将是缓慢细致的研究性阅读。
