HLB值
亲水亲油平衡值（ HLB 值）是用来表示表面活性剂亲水或亲油能力大小的值。
亲水亲油转折点HLB为10。
HLB小于10为亲油性,大于10为亲水性。
HLB 值越大，其亲水性越强， HLB 值越小，其亲油性越强。
非离子表面活性剂的 HLB 值还可利用一些经验公式计算得出，例如：HLB=7+11.7 lgM W /M 0
式中 M W 和 M 0 分别为表面活性剂分子中亲水基团和亲油基团的分子量。
非离子表面活性剂的 HLB 值具有加和性，因而可利用以下公式来计算两种和两种以上表面活性剂混合后的 HLB 值：
HLB=(HLB A*W A+HLB B*W B)/(W A+W B)
式中 W A和 W B分别表示表面活性剂 A 和 B 的重量百分数，HLB A和 HLB B则分别是 A 和 B 的 HLB 值。
HLB值在3-8的表面活性剂，适合用作W/O型乳化剂；HLB值在8-16的表面活性剂，适合用作O/W行的乳化剂；作为增溶剂的HLB值在13-18；作为润湿剂的HLB值在7-9等。
1、增加水相粘度的辅助乳化剂：甲基纤维素、羧甲基纤维素钠、羧丙基纤维素、海藻酸钠、琼脂、阿拉伯胶、黄胶原、果胶、骨胶原、皂土等。
2、增加油相粘度的辅助乳化剂：鲸蜡醇、蜂蜡、单硬脂酸甘油酯、硬脂酸、硬脂醇等。
