新SAT写作考试的形式由原来的选择题加作文变为阅读、分析与作文。其中SAT作文成绩满分为24分，分别是阅读理解8分，逻辑分析8分，英语写作8分。

新SAT写作考试由必考变为选考，SAT作文成绩是附加分，不计入总分，但建议大家参加写作考试，因为改革之后的SAT的写作，更能考查大家在阅读、分析及写作方面的能力，也能发挥出自身的长处，且对美国名校申请是比较重要的，偏低的作文分数会严重拖累美国名校的申请录取。

SAT作文是最后一项考试，要求考生在50分钟时间内，先阅读一篇750字的文章，读完之后针对这篇阅读文章，要求考生写出分析性作文，分析性作文是对原文的客观分析，对原文理解准确度最高是8分，对原文逻辑分析准确度最高是8分，英语表达水平最高是8分。

大家需不需要考SAT写作的话，要根据大家所申请的院校是否需要，还有就是大家的学习状况以及剩余的时间是否来得及备考，如果综合考量这三个因素觉得自己可以的话，那么选择考SAT写作，要考的话大家就需要考的高一点，争取在有限的时间内强化自己的优势。
