The Laboratory

Mia's father had a laboratory, but she had no idea what was in it. Her dad always closed andlocked the door when he went in. She knew that he used it to do projectsfor work. He never toldMia what these projects were.

Suddenly, she heard a loud noise. It sounded like an evillaugh. The noise scared her, so she walked quickly back to her room.有⼀天晚上，⽶亚经过实验室门⼝时停下了脚步。她⼼想：“真想知道爸爸在做什么疯狂的实验。”突然，实验室传来⼀阵很邪恶的笑声，声⾳很⼤。⽶亚被吓坏了，赶紧快步⾛回了⾃⼰的房间。The next night, her friend Liz came to her house. When Liz arrived, Mia told her about the nightbefore. 'Oh, it was terrible,' she said.

Mia felt nervous about going into her father's laboratory, but she agreed. As always, the doorwas locked. They waited until Mia's father left the laboratory to eat dinner. 'He didn't lock thedoor!' Liz said. 'Let's go.'
