五年级下册英语嗯第四单元的作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Unit 4: A Memorable JourneyWow, I can't believe we just finished Unit 4 in our English class! This unit was all about traveling and going on adventures. I have to say, it was one of my favorite units so far this year. Our teacher, Ms. Roberts, always finds such cool topics for us to learn about. We started off the unit by learning lots of new vocabulary words related to traveling. Words like "suitcase", "passport", "luggage", and "souvenirs" were new to me. We practiced using them in sentences and short conversations. I remember one activity where we had to pack an imaginary suitcase and list out everything we put inside. That helped the new words really stick in my brain. Then we watched a video about a family taking a trip to Paris, France. It looked like such an amazing place! We saw them visiting famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum, and the Arc de Triomphe. The architecture and artlooked incredible. I really want to travel to Paris someday and see it all for myself. Maybe I can convince my parents to take us there for a vacation sometime! After the video, we read a short story about two kids going on a camping trip with their family. I could really relate to the story because my family loves camping too. We go a few times every summer. Just like in the story, we go hiking, make s'mores over the campfire, and sleep in our tent under the stars. Camping is such a fun way to get outdoors and experience nature. The grammar focus for this unit was learning how to use the past tense correctly. Things like adding "-ed" to verbs for simple past tense, or using helping verbs like "was" and "were". We did lots of practice exercises, filling in the blanks and correcting errors in sample sentences. I've definitely gotten better at knowing when to use past tense now.My favorite part of the unit was our big class project - creating a travel brochure! We got to pick any destination we wanted, and then design a brochure trying to get people to visit.I chose to do mine on Hawaii because I've always dreamed of going there. I included information on the beautiful beaches, cool activities like surfing and hiking, and pictures of theamazing scenery. Hopefully my brochure can convince some people to actually visit! We even had a fun "travel day" at school where we created passports, brought suitcases, and explored different stations set up around the classroom. Each station had activities representing a different country or culture. It felt like we were really traveling around the world! I got stamps in my passport from "visiting" places like Egypt, Mexico, China, and Australia. Such a clever way for our teacher to bring the unit to life.Overall, I feel like I learned so much in this unit - new vocabulary, grammar skills, reading comprehension, and interesting facts about world cultures and travel. I have a much better understanding now of what goes into planning a trip and the experiences you can have when traveling. Getting to be creative with projects like the brochure also made it really enjoyable.Who knows, maybe I'll end up becoming a travel writer someday! I could go on all kinds of cool adventures around the globe and then share my experiences through writing. I'll definitely need to keep practicing my English skills. This unit has motivated me to continue learning so I can make that dream a reality. For now, I'm just really excited to put my new knowledge into practice. In a few weeks, my family is going on a road trip to visit my grandparents in another state. I can use my travel vocabulary to help pack and get ready. Then on the drive, I'll keep my eyes peeled for interesting sights and experiences to write about using proper past tense. This unit may be over, but my journey is just beginning!篇2My Favorite Sport: BasketballI love playing basketball! It's my absolute favorite sport and activity. There are so many reasons why I enjoy basketball so much.First of all, basketball is a really fun game to play. Dribbling the ball up and down the court, passing to teammates, and trying to score points is exciting and gets my heart pumping. Every game is different and you never know exactly what will happen. Sometimes the scores are really close and it comes down to the final seconds to see who wins. Other times one team gets ahead early and the lead goes back and forth. No two basketball games are ever exactly the same, which makes it thrilling.Another reason I love basketball is because it's a great way to exercise and stay in shape. Running up and down the court really gets you moving and works your cardiovascular system. You also build strength through things like rebounding, shooting, and defending. Basketball players have to be athletic to play the game well. Whenever I play, I work up a good sweat, which is a good indicator that I'm getting physical activity.Playing basketball also helps me work on important skills like teamwork, communication, stamina, hand-eye coordination, and focus. You have to work together with your teammates to succeed, sharing the ball and playing good defense as a unit. Communicating plays and situations is key. You need stamina to run back and forth for an entire game. Hand-eye coordination helps with skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. And you have to focus by concentrating on the game situation and what is unfolding on the court. Basketball really helps improve abilities that are useful both on and off the court. My favorite part of basketball is the feeling of making a great shot, especially if it's the game-winning basket. There's nothing quite like shooting the ball up towards the hoop, watching it arc beautifully through the air, and then swishing perfectly through the net. When you nail a clutch shot in a tight game, it's anincredibly rewarding feeling of success and accomplishment. Those big moments are really exhilarating.Something else I really like about basketball is that it can be played both on a team and individually. Team games are awesome because you're working with your friends or classmates towards a shared goal of winning. But you can also play basketball by yourself, working on dribbling, shooting, conditioning and other individual skills. Having the flexibility to play with others or practice alone is one of the great things about this sport.Basketball has also given me the chance to make new friends, both on my team and from playing against other schools. My teammates have become some of my closest friends because we've worked hard together, encouraged each other, and celebrated victories as a unit. Win or lose, we always have each other's backs. I've also met players from opposing teams whoI've gotten to know after our games. It's cool making connections through a shared interest. My dream is to keep improving at basketball so that maybe one day I can make my school's varsity team, earn a scholarship to play in college, and who knows, perhaps even make it to the professional level someday. I know there are millions of kids whodream the same thing, which is why I work hard every day to make that dream become a reality. Step-by-step, through dedication, practice and perseverance, I'm going to keep striving to get better and see how far this amazing game can take me.Basketball has honestly been one of the most positive activities and interests in my life so far. It brings me so much joy, exercise, teamwork, skill-building and wonderful memories. I feel extremely fortunate to have discovered my passion for this awesome sport at such a young age. I can't wait to keep playing basketball for a very long time!篇3My Favorite Unit: Animals and Their HabitatsUnit 4 in our English textbook this semester was all about animals and their habitats. I thought it was really interesting to learn about different creatures and where they live. Some of the animals we studied were really cool! One of my favorite animals we learned about was the giant panda. Did you know pandas are only found in the wild in a few mountain ranges in central China? Their habitat is the bamboo forests there. Pandas mainly eat bamboo, which is a kind of tall grass. They have special wrist bones that act like thumbs to helpthem grip the bamboo. I think pandas are so cute with their black and white fur and their round bodies. But I also learned that they are endangered because their bamboo forest homes are disappearing. That made me really sad. I hope people can protect the panda habitats so they don't go extinct. We also studied penguins, which live in extremely cold habitats near the South Pole in Antarctica. Penguins are funny little birds that waddle when they walk. But they are amazing swimmers who can dive deep into the icy ocean to catch fish and other seafood to eat. Their feathers are so tightly packed together that they insulate the penguins and keep them warm and dry in the freezing Antarctic waters. The biggest species is the emperor penguin, which can get as tall as 4 feet! I loved the pictures and videos we saw of huge colonies of penguins huddled together on the ice and snow. It must be really cold there but the penguins seem to do just fine. One animal I had never heard of before was the naked mole rat. Despite its funny name, it's actually a pretty bizarre creature! Naked mole rats live underground in large colonies with one "queen" mole rat that has babies while the others work, kind of like ants or bees. They have tiny eyes and big buck teeth for digging tunnels. And even though they look like wrinkly hairlessmice, they are actually more closely related to porcupines and guinea pigs! The naked mole rat has an extremely long lifespan for such a small mammal and is resistant to cancer and other diseases. I thought they were totally weird but also kind of cool in their own way. Who would have thought a ugly little mole rat could be so interesting? My absolute favorite animal we studied was the sea otter. They live in the coastal waters of the northern and eastern Pacific Ocean. Sea otters are so adorable and fun to watch. They float on their backs at the surface and use rocks or wood to crack open clams, sea urchins, and other shellfish that they eat. Baby otters even ride on their mom's belly sometimes! Sea otters have incredibly dense fur that insulates them from the cold ocean. In fact, they have the densest fur of any mammal - up to a million hairs per square inch! I wish I could pet a sea otter someday, their fur looks so soft and fluffy. But I know you're not supposed to because they can bite if they feel threatened. That's probably wise since even a cute sea otter is still a wild animal. Anyway, I just think they are the cutest things ever.In this unit, we also learned about how different habitats around the world face threats from human activity like pollution, deforestation, and climate change. Coral reefs, rainforests, wetlands, and the Arctic tundra are all being damaged or disappearing. It makes me sad to think about all the amazing plants and animals that could go extinct because their habitats are being ruined. I really hope when I grow up, people will have found ways to better protect these important habitats. The Earth has so many incredible species and we need to make sure they have safe homes to live in.Overall, I absolutely loved Unit 4 on animals and habitats. It was just so fascinating to me to learn about all the different creatures out there, how they are adapted to survive in their environments, and the challenges facing their habitats today. Some of the facts about certain species completely blew my mind. Like how about the mantis shrimp that has one of the fastest strikes in the world and can even break aquarium glass? Or that wombats have cube-shaped poop? Who comes up with stuff like that?! I can't wait until we get to study even more mind-blowing plants and animals in science class next year. The natural world is just endlessly amazing.篇4Unit 4 - A Taste of CulturesHey there! It's me again, your friendly neighborhood 5th grader. Today I want to tell you all about the awesome new unit we've been working on in English class – Unit 4: A Taste of Cultures. Get ready, because this unit is a flavor explosion for your brain!First up, we learned about food from different countries and cultures around the world. I've gotta say, some of that stuff looks crazy delicious, but other things...not so much. Like, have you ever heard of century eggs? They're these Chinese preserved eggs that have been soaking in a weird mixture for weeks or months until the yolks turn green and they get this super funky smell. I'm all for trying new foods, but I might have to pass on those stinky century eggs!We read this really neat story called "The Upside Down Boy" about a Mexican-American kid who feels like an outcast because his family's traditions are different from his friends' traditions. But then he realizes how cool and unique his culture is, especially when it comes to the amazing food his abuela makes. Talk about perspective! That story really opened my eyes to how diverse cultures can be, even in one town or neighborhood. Food brings people together in such a wonderful way.Speaking of wonderful food, we had so much fun with our cultural food demonstrations! Each student had to bring in a dish from their own cultural background (or just their favorite dish if they didn't have a strong cultural connection) and teach the class all about it. My best friend Jorge brought in homemade tamales from his abuela's secret recipe. The masa dough looked kind of weird, but those tamales were divine! Who knew so much flavor could be wrapped up in those little packages?Sasha's family is from India, so she brought in some vegetable samosas with cool chutneys for dipping. I'd had Indian food before from a restaurant, but Sasha showed us how to eat them the authentic way by using just your hands. It was kind of messy at first, but so much fun! Her mom's samosa-folding skills were on point. For my cultural food demo, I went super American and made classic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Sure, it's not fancy, but name something more iconically American than a good ol' PB&J! Everyone seemed to really enjoy them, especially when I cut them into cute little sandwich cuarter squares. Although...Amir wasn't a huge fan since his family keeps a halal diet with no pork products. Oops, my bad! I should have thought about that. We've also been learning about cultural traditions and celebrations in this unit. Did you know that the Chinese New Year isn't just one day, but an entire 15-day festival period? Wild! We made these awesome papercutting decorations called "huā" that are super intricate and beautiful. You have to be crazy patient to not rip the paper while cutting out all those delicate patterns and symbols. I might have...accidentally...ripped one or two of mine. Shh, don't tell Mrs. Roberts! For our big final cultural celebration project, each student has to pick a tradition to research and present to the class. I decided to do Day of the Dead from Mexico, since I thought the bright colors and sugar skull designs looked so cool and unique. Plus, it has such an interesting history of honoring ancestors that dates back hundreds of years. I'm a little nervous about getting up in front of everyone, but I think my poster and PowerPoint explaining the holiday's meaning and customs turned out great.Well, that's the scoop on Unit 4 so far! We've still got a couple of weeks left to dive deeper into cultural music, art, festivals and more. I just love learning about the amazing diversity in our world. It's so easy to only see things from your own narrow point of view. But once you start exploring othercultures, you realize how refreshing and eye-opening it can be. Our differences篇5Title: My Unforgettable Summer VacationHooray! Summer vacation is finally here! No more waking up early, no more homework, and no more boring classes. It's time for fun, fun, and more fun!Last summer, my family and I went on an amazing trip to the countryside. We stayed at my grandparents' house, which is surrounded by vast fields, lush forests, and a sparkling river. It was like stepping into a different world, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the things I loved most about the countryside was the fresh air. In the city, the air always smelled like car exhaust and factory smoke. But in the countryside, the air was crisp and clean, filled with the scents of flowers, grass, and trees. Every time I took a deep breath, it felt like my lungs were being recharged with pure oxygen.Another thing I enjoyed was the peace and quiet. In the city, there was always noise – cars honking, people shouting, construction work going on. But in the countryside, it was so quiet that you could hear the birds singing, the leaves rustling, and the river flowing. It was like a symphony of nature, and it was so relaxing.During the day, my cousins and I would explore the great outdoors. We would go on hikes through the forest, spotting all sorts of interesting plants and animals. Once, we even saw a deer drinking from the river! We would also go swimming in the river, splashing and playing in the cool, refreshing water. In the evenings, we would gather around the campfire and roast marshmallows. My grandpa would tell us spooky stories about the haunted woods, and we would all huddle closer together, our eyes wide with excitement and fear. One of the highlights of the trip was when we went fishing in the river. My grandpa taught us how to bait the hook, cast the line, and reel in the fish. It was so much fun! We caught a bunch of fish, and my grandma cooked them up for dinner. They were the freshest and most delicious fish I had ever tasted.Another memorable activity was when we went berry picking in the nearby fields. We filled our baskets with juicy strawberries, plump blueberries, and sweet raspberries. My grandma used the berries to make the most amazing pies and jams.As the summer drew to a close, I was sad to leave the countryside behind. But I knew that I would always have the wonderful memories of that unforgettable summer vacation. It was a time of adventure, discovery, and family bonding. And I can't wait to go back next summer and create even more amazing memories!篇6My Trip to the Science MuseumLast weekend, my family and I went on a really cool trip to the science museum in the city. I was super excited because I love learning about science, especially things like how machines work, outer space, and animals. The science museum has all sorts of awesome exhibits on those topics and more! When we first got there, we went to the section all about simple machines like levers, pulleys, and gears. There were these really neat hands-on displays where you could use levers to lift up heavy objects and play with pulleys to see how they make lifting easier. My little brother and I had a contest to see who could lift the heaviest weight with the lever. He won, but I let him because he's smaller than me.Next, we checked out the space area, which was my favorite part. They had a huge model of the solar system hanging from the ceiling that lit up and moved around. You could press buttons to make the planets orbit the sun! There were also displays about famous astronauts and the history of space travel.I loved reading about how the astronauts lived on the International Space Station. It must have been so cool to float around in zero gravity all day! Although eating dehydrated food for every meal doesn't sound that great. They even had a little mini-planetarium where we saw an awesome show about the constellations and galaxies. The narrator pointed out all the major constellations with a laser pointer as the stars and planets moved across the domed ceiling.I tried to find the Little Dipper when I got home that night, but I couldn't quite make it out in the sky. Maybe next time it's clearer I'll be able to spot it.In the biology section, we got to pet some really neat animals like snakes, turtles, and chinchillas. The chinchillas were probably the softest things I've ever felt! I also loved watching the little monkeys swinging around in their habitat area. My mom thought they were cute too, but she didn't like how theythrew their food everywhere when they got mad. Typical moms, always worrying about messes! There was also a huge aquarium with all kinds of cool fish, sharks, rays, and other sea creatures. They had this amazing tunnel you could walk through with the fish swimming all around you. At one point, a huge sea turtle swam right over our heads! It felt like we were actually underwater. There were lots of interactive displays too where you could virtually go scuba diving or learn about the ocean currents that carry materials across the globe. In another part, they had all these optical illusions and tricks about how your eyes and brain can play tricks on you. Like this one area had floors and walls that slanted to make you feel like you were standing sideways even though you were upright. My dad kept losing his balance, which was pretty funny. There was also an exhibit where two people see completely different images just by looking through a different hole. Wild!My favorite optical illusion though was the infinity mirror room. It was a small room lined with mirrors on all sides, including the floor and ceiling. Then they had these cool lights making patterns that just seemed to go on forever when you looked in the mirrors. It seriously looked like the room stretchedout into an infinite corridor of lights. I've never seen anything like it!The last gallery we visited was all about electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetism. I geeked out pretty hard in this section, not gonna lie. They had a gigantic VanDeGraaff generator that makes your hair literally stand on end from the static electricity when you touch it. I felt like a troll doll! You could also experiment with using electromagnets to make objects levitate and move around. My mind was blown seeing how powerful those magnets are.By the time we left, my brain felt completely full from absorbing so much new science information. I definitely want to go back to the museum again soon. There was so much cool stuff that we didn't even get to see everything. Maybe next time I can convince my parents to get one of those family memberships so we can visit as many times as we want. A guy can dream, right?Overall it was just such an awesome, fun-filled day. Getting to experience science in a hands-on way like that is so much better than just reading about it in a textbook. It really brought those concepts to life for me. I'm already looking forward to our next big family adventure!。
