印度英语与印地语之间有着千丝万缕的联系。印度 人所使用的英语，实际上是英语及印度各种语言， 特别是印地语的混合体 印度英语中的这种迁移现象在实际交流中有时可能 会让对方感到困扰，特别是当印地语与英语中的对 应词有程度或者感情色彩差异的时候(母语的思维方 式干扰) Eg: “shut up” 在印地语当中的对应词是Chup bet， 其意思是 “别说了”，“算了” 当印度人对几个或者一群人讲话的时候，他们经常 会用：You people 印地语的对应词app log 或者 是tum log而并不会意识其中所隐含的贬低甚至种族 主义的意涵
• 印度人在讲英语的时候，经常会赋予标准英语中 的一些词汇新的用法，或者完全引入一些新词
Eg:1.食物研磨器--n.“mixi”（adj.短中长皆具备的）
2.轰动性的电影或者让人震惊的事件:“hard-hitting” 或者 “action-packed” （有力的有影响的/内容度英语也经常重复动词来强调动作与行为
eg:比如“Come come”以及“Sit sit”，以此表达热烈的情 感。
• 印度人也采用形容词的重复结构来代替形容词前的 “very”，“ too”以及“so”等程度副词

印度饮食文化
印度人的主食是大米和面食。 北方以小麦、玉米、豆类等为 主，东部和南方沿海地区以大 米为主，中部德干高原则以小 米和杂粮为主。由于各种宗教 的不同禁忌，有些肉类在印度 不能吃，渐渐地演化成了以素 食为主的饮食体系。印度人除 了牛肉不吃外，鸡肉和羊肉都 是主要食物，因为牛在印度被 供奉为神。
因为生女孩将来嫁人要给男方很多嫁妆，反而，生男 孩意味着将来可以收很多嫁妆。 女儿终是家庭的负担，女儿出嫁如果没有丰厚 的嫁妆就会被男方家里欺负。妻子因没有丰厚的嫁 妆被丈夫浇上汽油烧死的新闻在印度屡见不鲜。 印度重男轻女严重，是因为印度94%的人信仰印度教 和回教，而这两种宗教都歧视女性。根据印度教的 教义，一个人死后只有由儿子施以临终仪式，灵魂 才能得救。因此印度重男轻女严重。
