时量l20分钟。
满分150分。
【名师点评】整套试卷突出了语言运用能力的考查。
其中语言知识部分，15道单项选择题侧重动词和句法；动词方面，考查了动词时态、语态、语气、主谓一致、非谓语动词、情态动词，可谓是涉及了动词方方面面的语法知识。
句法方面，考查了强调句型、定语从句、状语从句和名词性从句，考查面也很广。
完形填空第一节全部考查实词，第二节几乎全部考查虚词。
阅读理解题应用文一篇，说明文两篇，阅读量比往年小，且试题以细节理解题为主。
写作部分的阅读填空题难度与去年持平，但阅读简答题尽管选材比去年容易，但答题难度大于去年。
书面表达为开放性作文，为城乡学生均熟悉的联系学生实际的话题，让学生有话可写。
总的来说，整套试卷的难度小于去年，属偏易范畴。
（湖南卷听力解析）2010年高考新鲜出炉，新课改祭出的全新湖南英语高考备受关注。
由于新课改题型大幅改革，加上高校扩招等缘故，今年湖南卷英语考试难度系数有所下降，尤其新题型设计难度不大，语法题严格按照湖南考纲模版命题，有些单项填空相当简单，命题设计缺乏亮点，乏善可陈，诚然让作为新东方高考珠江老师的我们感到有点失望。
但为了保证试题改革试成功，避免区分度波动太大，这样的“保守”或有求稳之嫌，无可厚非。
根据高考改革的设计初衷，第一个题型听力部分可谓是大刀阔斧的第一刀，短对话被取消，考察六个长对话，共15个选择题，填空题增加到五个。
长对话的增多、主观试题听写填空的分值比例增加，理论上势必导致听力部分更加注重对考生口语和书面表达输出水平、和在听说环境中对多种细节的处理加工能力的考察，难度会有所上升，对英语实际运用能力较差的考生不利，但笔者实际深入感受了今年的听力命题后，发现听力难度不升反降，语音为纯正美语，语速为140词每分钟，对话部分的语言设计略显沉闷，对话句型老套，对话情节了无新意，没有完全达到再现西方社会英语地道文化语境的真实效果，也没有出现较难的听力词汇以及偏难怪的习语俚语；前面的四个长对话与以前的短对话无异，信息量并未增加，让人有“虚晃一枪”的感觉；听力填空题的题材与05年湖南卷填空题的电话自动应答雷同，老调重弹，缺乏新意。
