Integrating Skills教学的新尝试
一、教材分析
人民教育出版社新修订的高中英语教材增加了Integrating Skills部分,该部分提供了以读和写为主的综合语言材料和活动。阅读语篇与所在单元主题有关,但又不同于前面的Reading部分。前面第一篇阅读的重点应该放在提高学生阅读技巧、扩大词汇量、掌握本单元的重点语法知识上。而IntegratingSkills部分旨在扩充文化信息、拓宽学生的视野,并为学生顺利表达作好铺垫。因此,教师对两篇阅读材料的处理方式应该是不同的。Integrating Skills不是阅读的简单重复,而是由阅读延伸到写作等综合技能的训练。如何有效地实施Integrating Skills的教学、实现从
阅读到写作的有效过渡始终是很多英语教师感到困惑的问题。
二、存在问题
1.教学理解偏差
一些教师在处理Integrating Skills时,基本上围绕Reading部分做文章,没有涉及Writing部分的教学。由于对教材中IntegraringSkills的编写意图理解不透,他们认为阅读和写作没有直接关系,因而把IntegratingSkills的写作部分任意删除,使得这部分的教学单调、乏味、重复,无法达到相关要求。
2.时间安排不合理
多数教师虽然明确Integrating Skills教学分阅读和写作两部分,但在实际教学过程中,由于阅读部分处理时间太长,内容过细,到写作部分时,所剩时间已经很少了,因此,为了急于完成教学计划,他们只好对写作部分一笔带过,草草收场,结果写作这部分根本就没能给学生留下什么记忆,更不用说训练了。
3.阅读与写作关系处理不到位
在教学中还存在这样的问题:一部分教师在Integrating Skills这部分的教学中,不能很好地处理阅读与写作之间的关系,导致在Reading部分讲解的知识无法和Writing部分联系起来,学生头脑中无法形成一个由阅读向写作自然过渡的过程,更不用提“输入”和“输出”两部分的结合了。 三、问题解决的方法与途径

The Seventh Period: Listening, Writing and Acting
Purpose: To improve students’ listening, writing and acting ability.
To get students to know what happened to Henry after Scene 4.
Step 1. Listening
1. Ask students to look through the exercises of Ex1 before listening and then play the tape.
2. Ask students to think of more things Henry might do with the bank-note. Let them try to
make up what might happen after Henry do these things.
Step 2. Listening, speaking and writing task
1. Ask Ss to imagine what the situation in which Henry meets the woman (Portia) of his
dreams will be like. Ask students to discuss the following questions with their partners.
(1) If you are Henry, what kind of woman is of your dreams?
(2) If you are the woman what characters of Henry will attract you?
