【导读】北京公共汽车的回忆 --------Traffic jam.
每天上下班途中都要收听103.9北京交通台的广播,这已经成为我开车的习惯。昨天,交通台的一个话题是“如何看待公共汽车上让座”?这个本无多少异议的问题,一下勾起了我对乘坐公共汽车的遥远回忆……
北京的公共汽车就象一个个流动的小社会,又象一个社会大舞台,每天在车上都可以遇到来自天南地北,操着南腔北调的乘客。听过这样一个故事:北京的公共汽车上,一外地人向售票员伸出一张10元钱的票子:“见过吗?!见过吗?!”售票员不理。外地人再说:“见过吗?!见过吗?!” 售票员按住火,仍然不理。如此反复,售票员终于勃然大怒,掏出一张100元的票子戳到外地人的眼前,大喝一声:“你见过吗!”外地人见状大惊失色:“北京的售票员怎么这样呀?”后据一位懂那外地人口音的乘客解释,众人才知,该外地人要买票,说的是“建国门、建国门”!这个故事我没有遇到,但类似的故事,我想只要是经常乘坐公共汽车的北京人绝不会陌生。

Module 2 Traffic Jam---reading(1)
Step1 Leading-in: Match the words with their meanings.(part 3)
This part is provided as a warming-up for the upcoming reading. Because by doing this,
students can get more familiar with some of the new words.
Step 2 Listening: Listen to the tape for the text and find what means of transportation are
mentioned in the passage.
This step can save some time and test the students’ listening skills as well.
Step 3 Fast-reading: Read the text fast and try to get the main idea of the passage. Then fill in
the chart. Allow them to discuss the questions if they find it difficult.
Step 4 Detail-reading: Read the text carefully again and answer the questions.
Teachers may allow students to finish this part in pairs. Make sure they answer the
questions in complete sentences.
