Review on Forrest GumpI have watched Forrest Gump for more than three times and the reason for my being so entranced by this movie is that every time I saw it, I can always be impressed and learned different things from it. A good movie like Forrest Gump does not only relax my nerve but also refresh my mind.Forrest Gump, named after a southern civil war hero, grows up in Greenbow, Alabama, where his mother runs a boarding house. Although Forrest is a little “slow” (his IQ is 75, 5 points blow the state’s definition of “normal” ), his mental impairment doesn’t seem to bother him, his mother or his lifelong lover Jenny. In fact, the naivetéthat comes from a limited understanding of the world around him gives Forrest a uniquely positive perspective of life. However, others like Jenny, Lieutenant Dan and even those historical figures have done various stupid things. People are stupid when they do stupid things.Another lesson I’ve learn is that success does not come incidentally. Perhaps people might think that Forrest gets so successful and at the end becomes a millionaire all because of his good lucks. But from my perspective, Forrest works hardly, treats people fairly, and loves Jenny wholeheartedly. And because of his optimism, perseverance, and emotional honesty, he deserves everything wonderful. With these virtues that Forrest possesses, anyone can be successful even if you are not smart.Last but not the least, the movie tells me one more important thing, that is: life isbeautiful and valuable, and we should never give it up just because something painful but temporary happens in our lives. Failing to save his troops and win the battle during The War of Vietnam, Lit. Dan wants to die with dignity and honor rather than being a cripple weirdo. He thinks of himself as a useless person and he gives up his hope for life and belief. But Forrest encourages him by his optimism and Dan finally finds his faith back and thanks Forrest for saving his life. So, when I feel am really stressed out and cannot take it anymore, I told myself to hold that hope a little longer and longer. And things will not be as terrible as I thought is would be.Forrest Gump is a role model for us to lead a meaningful and happy life. Every one of us has our own deficiencies, but even a “stupid” man can be so influential, then why can’t we take over our weaknesses and be a worthy for society?。
