Since childhood, the Civil War, which happening in Atlanta, has become the topic. Of course Atlanta became the natural background of the novel. Margaret has spent ten years’ time to write the novel and half a year’s ti me to cross-check fiction historical events involved in the specific time and place.Gone with the Wind is a novel describes love. Margaret used her female fine and smooth to grasp young women’s complicated psychological activities exactly when they are se eking for love ,modeling this novel’s complex figure Scarlett successfully .Sometimes, this figure was very familiar to us ,but sometimes very strange. Sometimes we could understood her,but sometimes we thought she was unintelligible. However, we could fell she was very authentic from beginning to the end , these were this book’s greatest achievements. Scarlett was young and beautiful but what she had did show her cruel and greedy. In order to re-energize her family property, she took her love and marriage aswk_ad_begin({pid : 21});wk_ad_after(21, function(){$('.ad-hidden').hide();}, function(){$('.ad-hidden').show();});business. She had three marriages, but she was not sincere at all. Finally, she found that, Ashley, the man she kept in mind constantly was weak and incompetent in character. But the man named Rhett Butler was worthwhile to be loved. From the view of appreciation of the beauty, the person who had a complicated character could not be intaken into a negative character simply. In previous novels, the author used to shape the character in a simple way. Gone with the Wind has broken this descriptive method. The novel by the characters presented to us are both positive and negative of the combination.Scarlett, the leading character in the novel, impressed me the most. So I want to talk something about her. Her character was very complex. She was childish and optimistic. She had a tense feeling and her feeling was apt to be revealed. In the meanwhile, she was self-willed and like a bear with a sore head. She was also quite responsible for her own action. She was not good at analyzing and introspection. These characters made her use six or seven years’ experiences to realize that the unwilling love was wrong. This kind of love was just a fine kink but not real exist. From another point of view, I appreciate Scarlett’s brave and strong. When she faced difficulties she would say: Tomorrow is another day. Yeah, what a reasonable sentence. It’s of great philosophic theory. It told us to be confident to life. When I meet difficulty, I will tell myself: tomorrow is another day.Gone with the Wind has a very significant position in our society. We feel America is an incredible and strange country, but Gone with the Wind uncovers her too softhearted veil, making people see many things that dirty and glorious are coexisted. It also has a special significance to adolescents. This novel becamefamous overnight as soon as it published. This novel which reached a length of 1000 pages shocked American. The movie Gone with the Wind was adapted from this novel. The movie made the novel even more famous. It is quite worth reading. Gone with the WindIn my childhood, I once prefer reading fairy stories which accompany with me in my alone days. In addition, the network teaching because of the space, the teacher unique personality charm, sings in the teaching with the student emotion, moral, of knowledge and ability to achieve the effect of teaching, the teacher also difficult to be network teaching the multi-level teaching and teach students in accordance with their aptitude, some in the name of the upper borrow online, all day in the stroll online. Most online schools cannot form new mode of learning, and is still traditional education model alternatives. An online school quality also is intermingled, much online service position is not clear. Second, the advantages of the traditional educationTraditional education is a closed, force-feeding teaching too, but its basic form position is still network education cannot replace. The traditional education network education have class than study atmosphere, the teachers and students to exchange, classroom teaching is easy to control, easy to learning motivationand other advantages, in addition, documented learning resources network digital learningresources than more easy to use and carry, network education is also has many advantages, but it can only to the traditional education in a supplementary role, should not also can't replace the traditional education. With the development of the society, our life is more and more digital, with the development of science and technology, and remote education also became more and more popular. But now there is no complete popularity. In China, we are still in a traditional teaching primarily. Only some remedial class, may be online. In my opinion, distance education, advantages and disadvantages. Online teaching, teachers don't have to eat chalk. Such a body good. And do not go out and then can learn much knowledge, convenient. But, this only part of it to learn useful talent. Some people don't want to learn might just deal with the teacher just, and not himself to learn. You can call others generation homework to do. Because the teacher simply can't see, network after all is unreal.(本文素材来源于网络,如有侵权,请联系删除。

Pursuing an English major has been a rewarding and enriching experience for me. As a student delving into the nuances of the English language, literature, and communication, I have had the privilege of engaging with a wide range of textbooks that have expanded my understanding and appreciation for the field. One such textbook that has left a lasting impression on me is "The Elements of Style" by William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White."The Elements of Style" is a timeless classic that has been a staple in the education of countless English students and writers. This slim volume, first published in 1918, has become a revered guide for those seeking to master the art of clear, concise, and effective written communication. Its enduring popularity is a testament to the enduring wisdom and relevance of its principles. One of the most striking aspects of this textbook is its succinct and straightforward approach. Strunk and White waste no time in delivering their message, presenting a series of concise and easily digestible rules and guidelines for good writing. From theimportance of using active voice to the proper placement of commas, each lesson is delivered with a clarity and precision that is both instructive and inspiring. What sets "The Elements of Style" apart is its unwavering commitment to simplicity and clarity. The authors recognize that good writing is not about flamboyant language or ostentatious displays of erudition, but rather about conveying ideas and emotions in the most direct and accessible manner possible. This philosophy is reflected in the textbook's tone, which is both authoritative and approachable, guiding the reader with a firm yet gentle hand. One of the most valuable lessons I have taken away from this textbook is the importance of concision. Strunk and White emphasize the need to eliminate unnecessary words and phrases, to cut through the clutter and get to the heart of the matter. This lesson has been particularly transformative for me, as I have learned to scrutinize my own writing with a critical eye, constantly seeking ways to streamline and refine my expression.Another key lesson from "The Elements of Style" is the importance of attention to detail. The authors meticulously address a wide range of grammatical and stylistic nuances, from the proper use of commas to the avoidance of common grammatical errors. This attention to detail has instilled in me a greater appreciation for the power oflanguage and the impact that even the smallest of choices can have on the overall effectiveness of a piece of writing.Perhaps most importantly, "The Elements of Style" has instilled in me a deep respect for the craft of writing. Strunk and White's reverence for the English language is palpable, and their passion for clear and effective communication is infectious. This textbook has inspired me to approach my own writing with a sense of care and dedication, constantly striving to improve my skills and to honor the rich tradition of the written word.As I reflect on my journey as an English major, I am grateful for the opportunity to have engaged with this remarkable textbook. "The Elements of Style" has not only improved my technical writing skills but has also imbued me with a deeper appreciation for the power and beauty of language. Its lessons have become a part of my very being, shaping the way I think, write, and communicate. In conclusion, "The Elements of Style" is a textbook that every English major should encounter. Its timeless wisdom and practical guidance have the power to transform the way we approach the written word, empowering us to communicate with clarity, precision, and elegance. As I continue my academic and professional pursuits, I know that the lessons I have learned from this textbook will continueto serve me well, guiding me towards a deeper understanding and mastery of the English language.。

Through this name, she has created a series of family stories mainly about English history.Even ten years after her death, Jean Plaidy has an enormous fan base, and now thatsome of her books are back in print, it appears to be growing. More than fifty-six million copies of Victoria Holt novels have been sold worldwide, and there are more than fourteen million copies of Jean Plaidy and more than three million copies of Philippa Carr stories in print.II. A Summary of the NovelGreen-eyed Caroline Tressidor seems to have the whole world before her, until the long-heralded occasion of Queen Victoria?s Golden Jubilee. When an exuberant Caroline views the magnificent royal procession with her mother and her handsome friend, the dashing Captain Carmichael, she inadvertently exposes a secret that will change all their lives. From that moment on, nothing is the same. Caroline watches her promising future dissolve, without knowing why. Determined to discover the truth, Caroline begins a search that will take her from the grandeur of Lndon?s society to the wild moors of Cornwall, a quest that will pit her against her shy, pretty sister and the rulesof a stern Victorian society. It is an adventure that will also propel her into the arms of the dark, mysterious Paul Landower. Trapped in his own past, he may be he man of her dreams, unless his past included a legacy of murder. But according to many reasons, what the most important reason was that her father required. So she must left Cornwall. Olivia was so happy for the return of the sister. But Olivia was busy with stepping into the society. However, Caroline was sternly restricted, in an other word, she was eager. According her aggressive personality, she jumped at a chance to persuade Olivia to take part in the party. During the party, she met a man called Jeremy, a avaricious man, he loved Caroline?s property, he loved her station of family in the society. But the only thing, he missed her and married with her elder sister, Olivia. Meanwhile, Caroline?s daddy was dead, after it ,the lawyer told Caroline that she had no right to go on with her father?s property. She became a poor girl. Suddenly, the girl lost everything, including her love. She became hesitated, she didn?t believe others, until thepresence of Paul. Just as Caroline realized she had found her happy life, but other news came, Paul had been married by another girl. When Caroline knew that Paul betrayed her, she became corrupted. Cousin Mary supported her all the time. In end, after cousin Mary?s careful attention, Caroline resumed herself. And, because cousin Mary loved the girl and gave all the manors to her. Both of their kindness moved the planter Jamie, a man full of suspense, he always said that he had a brother and the brother often wanted to kill him. When he knew the story of Caroline, he warned her to be far away from Paul. At last, Miss. Paul found her secret, so he killed her. Actually, he was her brother, they are one person. At the end of the story, Caroline lived happily with Paul. They love themselves.III. My views on the bookFrom my perspective, the landower legacy is really worth savoring. It is a successful realism fiction. It?s not a romance novel–it?s a novel with romance in it. The writer has not use any special methods or ways, but she pays more attention to the details. When I readit ,I feel excited, and the plot often takes me to a new world. The story seems a real experience of the writer and the spirit described by the writer. From the story, I can easily recognize that the expression the writer wants to show. The roles in her story will have a complex relation, and they also show the modern society in middle 20 century. The roles, some of them are full of love, some of them are full of hesitate, some of them are full of kindness, some of them are full of coldblooedness. They betray others naturally, and express the real love any time.As parents of Caroline, they are failing. Neither parent having much affection for the other, or interest in the children. Her father thinks women are no station in the society, and he just wants to manage his business better. His family is no value. Her mother is a beautiful woman, but she is so selfness that she only consider her eager, she loved the man for a long time, but the man is not her father. She gives a wrong birth to Caroline, lets her become a girl who has a cool but no ability man. None of them are responsible. Oliviais her elder sister, but she is restricted by the rules. She obeys the rules, and live in a comfortable life that she thinks. Olivia has no grave personality, but the real love between she and Caroline is existed forever. At the end, she get married with a man who just stares at her property, and dies in a poor way. Everything happened on her, is so natural. But what?s wrong with the behavior of Olivia, she gets the rules, and obeys the rules. Why her result is so unbelievable. Maybe it blames to the rules. The mysterious Paul Landower, has a family which owns the other large manor in the area, but their funds and the building are in ruins. It looks as though they will have to sell. For the property that her ancestor leaves to him, he gets married with a vain woman who just likes to ask about other people?s secrets and finally dies for the curiosity. Although he has been married, he loves caroline so long and so much. He never give up, I think just because of his spirit moves Caroline. In my opinion, he also becomes a successful man. Caroline Tressidor is the second daughter of a wealthy, upstanding man. Their home in Victorian Londonis strained. Caroline is the smarter of the two girls, always questioning, dreaming, and seeing what her sister Olivia misses. And her mother often takes them to meet her lover. Finally, Caroline lets slip to her father that they have been spending time with the man who is her real father and her mother?s lover. And then the world as she knew it shifts violently. Mother leaves. Caroline is sent away from London to live in the country with the ?ogre? Cousin Mary. Though essentially banned from her home, she soon settles into life in Cornwall. The wild moors, the people…Before anything is certain, Caroline is called back to London. yet somehow her father never orders them to make her ready. Months go by. And Caroline takes matters into her own hands–she contrives a way to go to a masked event, and winds up the apple of some young gentleman?s eye. Yet she never forgets Paul Landower, the brooding, noble heir…As the leading lady, caroline has showed that her personality, such as her grave, naturally, ignorance of the rules of the society. I am sincerely moved by the most special aspects, break out the rules and stand by her spirit. She can ignore anything, but just dothings that satisfied with herself. Now, in the society, how many people can be like her? Although there are many unfortunate thing happening everyday, what you care about? The policy, the friends, the lover, the life level… Maybe you have been lost the society, or, in other word, you have been suitable with the society.Narrowing the sight, we pay attention to our life, our relationship. Can we keep kind and real love between friends and lovers? Caroline gains a lot or everything through her struggle. We are more smarter than her, I think we can change many things what leads our world to be a cold world. Believe what we confirm, do what we believe. Although sometimes, you have to face with difficulties and many incidents of human diversy, you only take your courage and betray the rules and do things what you think right. After reading, I find one sentence is right, “only have a heart to conquer the world, you break out the hard rules, and be successful in the world”. Caroline has a heart to live for her wanted life, she succeed, Paul has a heart to love Caroline forever and live with her , he succeed, Rosie has a heart to be personal andwealthy, she succeed. As stated above, we may reach a conclusion that struggle is the bridge to ideal. Cease to struggle you cease to leave. Whenever there is a will, there is a way. I learn from the roles in the story. In a word, if you want to enrich your mind or make an achievement, go to read the landower legacy. You will not only enjoy a soul-stirring and romantic story, but also learn how to struggle for a better life. How to Write a Book/Reading Report? Teachers love to assign book reports. Title: Reflecting on the Journey of Literary Exploration through an English Major's BookEmbarking on the journey of an English major, I anticipated a deep dive into the world of literature, language, and culture. The books I encountered during this academic pursuit not only broadened my understanding of the English language but also opened my eyes to the diverse tapestry of human experiences and perspectives. One of the first books that captivated me was "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. Its poignant narrative about racial injustice and the importance of moral courage left a lasting impression on me. Reading it was not just an exercise in understanding the nuances of the language but also a powerful reminder of the responsibility we carry as individuals to speak up against injustice. The book's characters, their struggles, and their triumphs were so vividly portrayed that I felt like I was right there, experiencing their lives.Another noteworthy read was "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. This classic tale of love and social hierarchy taught me the intricacies of Regency-era England while also offering insights into the complexities of human relationships. Austen's wit and irony made the reading experience both enjoyable and thought-provoking. I found myself marveling at her ability to create such memorable characters and plotlines. As I progressed through my studies, I also delved into more contemporary works like "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger. This semi-autobiographical novel resonated deeply with me, especially its exploration of teenage angst and the search for identity. Holden Caulfield's voice was honest and raw, and his journey through the adult world was both hilarious and heartbreaking. The journey of an English major is not just about reading books; it's about understanding the world through the lens of literature. Each book I read taught me something new about human nature, society, and the power of words. The books I encountered challenged my preconceived ideas and broadened my perspective on life. Moreover, the process of analyzing and interpreting these texts honed my critical thinking skills. I learned to look beyond the surface of a story and delve into its deeper meanings and themes. This ability to question and analyze has been invaluable in my personal and professional life.Overall, my journey through the books of an English major has been a rich and rewarding experience. I have learned about different cultures, perspectives, and human experiences. I have been moved, inspired, and challenged by the stories I have read. And most importantly, I have discovered the power of words and the beauty of literature in shaping our understanding of the world. As I continue on this academic path, I am excited to explore more books and learn more about the wonders of the English language. I am confident that the journey aheadwill be filled with more insights, revelations, and moments of inspiration. In conclusion, the books I have read as an English major have been not just academic pursuits but also transformative experiences. They have expanded my horizons, enriched my understanding of the world, and left me with a deeper appreciation for the beauty and power of literature.。

Charltte Brnt? first published the bk as Jane Eyre: An Autbigraphy under the pseudnym Currer Bell, and it as an instant success, earning the praise f many revieers, including illiam Makepeace Thackeray, t hm Charltte Brnt? dedicated her secnd editin. The stry is that f a gverness, Jane Eyre. Despite her plainness, she captures the heart f her enigmatic emplyer, Edard Rchester, but sn discvers he has a secret that culd jepardize any hpe f happiness beteenthem .Published in 1847, Jane Eyre brught almst instant fame t its bscure authr, the daughter f a clergyman in a small mill tn in nrthern England. n the surface, the nvel embdies stck situatins f the Gthic nvel genre such as mystery, hrrr, and the classic medieval castle setting; many f the incidents brder n (and crss ver int) meldrama. The stry f the yung herine is als in many ays cnventinal—the rise f a pr rphan girl against verhelming dds, hse lve and determinatin eventually redeem a trmented her. Yet if this all there ere t Jane Eyre, the nvel uld sn have been frgtten. In riting Jane Eyre, Charltte Brnte did nt rite a mere rmantic ptbiler. Her bk has serius things t say abut a number f imprtant subjects: the relatins beteen men and men, men s equality, the treatment f children and f men, religius faith andreligius hypcrisy (and the difference beteen the t), the realizatin f selfhd, and the nature f true lve. But again, if its cncerns ere nly tpical, it uld nt have utlivedthe time in hich it as ritten. The bk is nt a tract any mre than it is a ptbiler. It is a rk f fictin ith memrable characters and vivid scenes, ritten in a pelling prse style. In appealing t bth the head and the heart, Jane Eyre triumphs ver its flas and remains a classic f nineteenth-century English literature and ne f the mst ppular f all English nvels. Jane Eyre, is a pr but aspiring, small in bdy but huge in sul, bscure but self-respecting girl. After e clse the cvers f the bk, after having a lng jurney f the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelus figure, has left us s much t recall and t think: e remember her gdness: fr smene h lst arms and blinded in eyes, fr smene h despised her fr her rdinariness, and even fr smene h had hurt her deeply in the past. e remember her pursuit f justice. In her pinin, everyne is the same at the Gd’s feet. Thugh there are differences in status、in prperty and als in appearance, but all the human being are equal in persnality. e als remember her striving fr life, her tughness and her cnfidence…hen e thinkf this girl, hat she gave us as nt a pretty face r a transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm f her persnality. Actually, she asn’t pretty, and f curse, the rdinary appearance didn’t make thers feel gd f her, even her n aunt felt disgusted ith it. And sme thers even thught that she as easy t lk dn n and t tease, s hen Miss Ingram met Jane Eyre, she seemed quite cntemptuus, fr that she as bviusly much mre prettier than ‘the plain and ugly gverness’. But as the little gverness had said: ‘D yu think, because I am pr, bscure, plain, and This is the idea f equality in Jane Eyre’s mind. Gd hadn’t given her beauty and ealth, but instead, Gd gave hera kind mind and a thinking brain. Her idea f equality and self-respect impress us s much and let us feel the per inside her bdy. In my mind, thugh a persn’s beauty n the face can make thers nce feel that ne is attractive and charming, if his r her mind isn’t the same beautiful as the appearance, such as beauty cannt last fr, hen thers find that the beauty hich had charmed them as nly a falsity, it’s nt true, they ill like the persn n mre. Wuthering Heights ——RevengeWell, before I begin my part, I would like to ask you a question that is if you hate a person a lot, what will you do? Keep silence? Talk about your feelings with the person immediately and try to solve the problem? Or hurt the person to express your anger? Or deal with it in other ways? Who can give me you’re an answer? Now let’s come back to our novel. What did the hero, Heathcliff do when he had extreme hatred? He chose to revenge. Then in the following part, I’ll begin with the revenge in Wuthering ter on, I’d like to talk about some other related things about revenge.First, let’s see the revenge in the novel. We know that Heathcliff lives in an abnormal way.People around despised this ‘evil gypsy’.When his beloved Catherine married the gentleman, Edger Linton, for wealth and reputation, Heathcliff’s heart broke completely. His hatred towards Hindley and the Lintons became stronger. When Catherine died, Heathcliff was like an active volcano, boom!Heathcliff had a careful plan to revenge. In his generation, I’d like to mainly say something about his marriage with Isabella. This action is the key step to take over the property of the Lintons.and vexed Edger mentally.Just as Isabella’s angry words ‘Whatever he may pretend, he wishes to provoke Edger to desperation;he says he has married me on purpose to obtain power over him…’Also, we can consider it his revenge to Catherine.H e knew Catherine’s deep love towards him.He knew his marriage would hurt Catherine in the same way that she hurt him.The joy of revenge and the sorrow of love mixed together tobecome a very complicated feeling.Indeed, Heathcliff is such a complicated char acter. It’s not difficult to imagine his fierce inter struggles.Meanwhile, Heathcliff abused his wife, Isabella, as a sort of amusement. As he himself pointed out, his abuse of Isabella is purely sadistic, as he amuses himself by seeing how much abuse she can take and still come cringing back for more.According to a modern study, a lot of criminals were lack of love. They get apathy even hatred from the society. If the seeds of enmity are planted in people’s hearts when they were kids, how can we expect these people to be friendly and kind? What goes around comes around.H is a typical character. When hatred gets its foothold in his soul, his choice is revenge. When we are shocked by H’s violence, we can feel a little bit sadness, too.Although maybe we can consider Hindley Earshaw and the Lintos Heathcliff’s enemy, it’s none of their children’s business, right? We always say that the children are innocent. But Heathcliff could not stop the mad beast called revenge from extending its reach to the next generation.‘…I w ant the triumph of seeing…my child hiring their children to till their father’s land for wages.’ What a terrible and poor man!Because his own life is miserable, he wanted to let the next generation suffer from what he has suffered. He used to say to the five years old boy, Hindley’s son, Hareton: ‘Now, my bonny lad, you are mine! And we’ll see if one tree won’t grow as crooked as another, with the same wind to twist it!’ It’s the sort of thing that can be done by the demon.Heathcliff did make the boy as his own duplicate and ruined the boy. Will you be as lowly as a maid or a servant in you own house? It sounds quite ridiculous!1 But in a matter of fact, Hareton did so.Thanks to Mr.Heathcliff, he gave Hareton the very precious chance to experience such anunusu al life.As we known, loving our own children is human’s nature. But it is not right for Heathcliff.Hatred blinded his eyes.In order to revenge, he could make use of his own son and watched him die in the end.As for Catherine Linton, the creature became a po or widow. She and Heraton loved each other but couldn’t get together because they were under devil Heathcliff’s control.Heathcliff abandoned everything and used all kinds of ways to reach his destination—revenge.Back to back tragedies were made, tragedies of the Earshaws, the Lintons and himself. Now classmates, we can come out of Wuthering Heights for a moment.Next, I’ll tell you a mythology.Once upon a time, there was a charming princess called Medea. She owned the power of magic. Her peaceful life would go on if Jason, one of the Greece heroes, had not appeared.Jason came there to get the Golden Fleece(the wool from a golden sheep), the symbol of a priceless treasure.Medea fell in love with him.She helped Jason get the Golden Fleece and betrayed her father and her own country and ran away with Jason. In order to get rid of the chase, Medea killed her brother and cut his body into pieces. After Medea and Jason settled down, Medea gave birth to two sons. But it’s not the happy ending. The king of the country wanted Jason to marry his daughter. Then Jason abandoned Medea who loved him and helped him a lot.He married the princess because of the wealth and the power.Medea was extremely sad and angry. She gave the princess a beautiful dress which contained poison. With out knowing the truth, the bride put it on.Obviously, the bride died. The king cried and held his dear daughter tightly in his arms.He also died because he touched the poison. But to Medea, it was far from enough. She killed her own sons in front of Jason.Though the father pleadedto kiss his sons’ bodies for the last time, Medea refused him coldly. She flew away with her dead sons and her broken heart.Jason was left alone. He had lost everything. Finally, he ended his life with the sword. Thus, Medea became the goddess of revenge. After finishing the story, we can find that Heathcliff and Medea have a lot in common. Both of them had strong love and hatred. The most important thing is when they were treated by unfair things and betrayed by lovers, they chose to revenge: Heathcliff took steps to get all the property of the two families;Medea killed all the related people to pay back to Jason. To some extent, the revenge showed their rebellious spirit.Heathcliff and Medea didn’t comply with the unfair fate. They changed from victims to avengers. When we are shocked by the avengers, we feel pity at the same time. However, there is difference between Medea and Heathcliff. What’s the difference then? One is woman and the other is man? Of course not.The real difference is: it’s a tota l tragedy that Medea destroyed everything including herself;as for Heathcliff, although he lived most of his life with hatred and revenge, he gave up his revenge to the next generation, Heraton and Catherine. It’s a kind of revival of humanity.A moment later, my partner, Cathy, will analyze the revival of humanity to you.T oday we talked much about the revenge, and I do hope the more we know the revenge, the more we value the harmony and the peace.Thank you! A Report on Wuthering HeightsIn Wuthering Heights(John Murray edition,1910), Emily Bronte tells the story of love and revenge.Wuthering Heights is written by the time span of thirty years, describes a complexemotional relationships of two generations between the Earnshaw family and Linton family.Heathcliff was a poor gipsy orphan who was deserted on a dirty street. The old kind Mr.Earnshaw took him back and brought him up.Mr.Earnshaw had a beautiful daughter, Catherine Earnshaw, and a son, Hindley. After Heathcliff’s coming to the family, Catherine became his good friend while Hindley always looked down upon the black-haired boy, treated him badly, and tired his best to make him a poor dull farm worker.Because of Heathcliff’s lowly status, he couldn’t offer a comfortable lif e to Catherine and at last she married Edgar.Linton, a rich young man living in Thrushcross Grange. The whole novel can be divided into four parts. The first phase describes the daily life of Heathcliff and Catherine’s childhood, their special affection is f ormed in this particular environment as well as their revolt against the tyrannical Hindley. The second phase focuses on the Catherine pursuit of the traditional of human love and betrayed Heathcliff and she became the mistress of thrush. She admitted to Donnelly that her love to Linton who is young, handsome man.He loves her as well as her wealth, let her to become the most distinguished woman.Catherine has said:”In my heart and soul, I clearly know I was wrong.” Because she also loves Heathcliff. The third phase uses a large pen and ink describing Heathcliff’s revenge. The last part of novel is the death of Heathcliff but revealed a new change in the thinking experience-the recovery of humanity when he understood the love between Hareton and Catherine, so we can see a bunch a hope in the tragic love story. My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods;time will change it.I'm well aware, as winter changes the trees. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneatha source of little visible delight, but necessary.Nell, I am Heathcliff! He's always always in my mind;not as a pleasure, any ore than I am always a pleasure to myself, but as my own being.Love ,when it was passionate, it was sun, rain and sugar;but when itwasn’t passionate, it became a shar p arrow, the deeper you loved, the worse scar you would had.As for a person who had already got hurt badly, love can be a dealcohol agent, which can worn him to be cautious before fall in love again. However, even though it can not be able to prevent the coming of love, until it break all the fantasy of love into pieces one more time.I don’t know exactly how many people died for love, but I believe that most of them had decided to keep alive eventually. They continued to be living, til the time smooth the painful memory.Once think about that one day, all of us well be vanished in the memory of the person who we loved before. What a terrible thing!I cannot express it;but surely you and everybody have a notion that there is or should be an existence of yours beyond you. What were the use of my creation, if I were entirely contained 罗允荣 0141131023信管一班here? My great miseries in this world have been Heathcliff's miseries, and I watched and felt each from the beginning:my great thought in living is himself. If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be;and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger: I should not seem a part of it.My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods: time will change it, I'm well aware, as winter changes the trees. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath: a source of little visible delight, but necessary.Nelly, I am Heathcliff! He's always, always in my mind:not as a pleasure, any more than I am always a pleasure to myself, but as my own being. So don't talk of our separation again. As long as you keep alive, you have to deal with all kinds of things, until these confused things fall the first memory into oblivion, make the life return to the peaceful status, and make you hope for nothing. In my idea, if a person can live by memory and revenge like Heathcliff , we can really count it as a life of luxury. At present, I am listening the song named Where Did You Sleep Last Night, I descend into the dark and hysterical. It remind me of Heathcliff who looks like a grim people but has the most passionate love inside.Maybe, I love his arbitrary, his unreasonable, especially his hysterical, stubborn.Once you love someone, you become extraordinarily stubborn, be so possessive of her, even be a mass of bruises, you still never let go.The stronger to surface, the weaker to inside.I want to hug the grim Heathcliff, have you ever saw the tears slipped along his face in the hopeless darkness. If during my lifetime, I have the opportunity to have a love like this, I think I will not try to pare Jane Eyre with Wuthering Heights, I didn’t find any differences on the expression of love.If there is a difference, I think Wuthering Heignts voices that I love more, hate more, and more painful. This kind of love has reached to their limitation,it will bring no more than crazy and devastation. For two people who love each other with great passion, We,Human,You,Outside can be nothing, because they are the Universe for each other.Em ily Bronte merely lived thirty years, I don’t know her experience. But I think she was burned by the passion and despair, and maybe this is a happy thing for her.

As an avid reader, I have always believed in the power of books to broaden our horizons, stimulate our minds, and transport us to different worlds. Recently, I had the pleasure of reading a captivating English novel, and I would like to share my thoughts and insights in this English reading report. The novel I chose to read is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. Set in the American South during the 1930s, the story is narrated by a young girl named Scout Finch, who provides a unique perspective on issues of race, class, and morality. The novel's central plot revolves around the trial of a black man, Tom Robinson, who is falsely accused of raping a white woman. Through Scout's eyes, we witness the injustice and prejudice that permeate the town of Maycomb, and we are compelled to confront the harsh realities of the society in which she lives. One of the most striking aspects of "To Kill a Mockingbird" is the author's masterful use of language. Harper Lee's prose is both eloquent and evocative, drawing the reader into the world of the novel with vivid descriptions and poignant dialogue. The language is rich with symbolism and metaphor, inviting readers to contemplate the deeper meanings behind the characters' actions and the events that unfold. Moreover, the characters in the novel are exceptionally well-developed, each possessing a complexity and depth that makes them feel remarkably real. Atticus Finch, Scout's father, emerges as a moral compass in the story, standing up for what is right in the face of overwhelming opposition. His unwavering integrity and compassion serve as a source of inspiration, challenging readers to reflect on their own values and beliefs. In addition to its literary merits, "To Kill a Mockingbird" also offers valuable insights into the social and historical context of the time period in which it is set. By examining the dynamics of race relations and the impact of prejudice on individuals and communities, the novel prompts readers to consider the enduring relevance of these issues in today's world. It serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy, understanding, and the pursuit of justice. In conclusion, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a timeless classic that continues to resonate with readers of all ages. Its compelling narrative, rich language, and thought-provoking themes make it a truly unforgettable reading experience. I highly recommend this novel to anyone seeking a profound and meaningful literary journey. In this English reading report, I have endeavored to convey the impact and significance of "To Kill a Mockingbird" while also reflecting on my personal response to the novel. I hope that my insights will inspire others to explore this remarkable work of literature and engage in meaningful discussions about its themes and messages. Thank you for taking the time to read my report.。
