2019全国二卷英语作文
Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the increasing
amount of time students spend on their smartphones. As a high
school student, I have observed that the overuse of
smartphones has become a prevalent issue among my peers.
Firstly, the excessive use of smartphones has negative
effects on our studies. Many students are distracted by
social media and games, which leads to a decline in academic
performance. The constant notifications and the urge to stay
connected can make it difficult for students to concentrate
on their schoolwork.
Secondly, it is also affecting our physical health. Spending
long hours on smartphones means less time spent on physical
activities. This sedentary lifestyle can lead to obesity and
other health issues. Moreover, the blue light emitted by
smartphones can disrupt our sleep patterns, which is crucial
for our well-being.
In addition, the over-reliance on smartphones can hinder our
social skills. Face-to-face communication is being replaced
by text messages and social media interactions. This can
result in a lack of empathy and understanding of non-verbal
cues, which are essential for building strong interpersonal
relationships.
To address this issue, I believe schools should take action.
They could introduce educational programs to raise awareness
about the dangers of excessive smartphone use. Furthermore,
schools could encourage students to participate in
extracurricular activities that promote physical exercise and
social interaction.
Parents also play a crucial role. They should set a good
example by limiting their own smartphone use and encouraging
their children to engage in outdoor activities.
In conclusion, the overuse of smartphones is a serious
concern that needs to be addressed. It is up to all of us,
including schools, parents, and students, to work together to
find a balance between the benefits of technology and the
need for healthy living.
I hope this letter will prompt some thought on the matter and
inspire positive changes.
Sincerely,
Li Hua
