（一）时间状语从句

【教材原句】

When Darren finally pushed his way out, he couldn’t find his friends.

当达伦终于（从人群中）挤出来时，他就找不到他的朋友们了。

【概念】

时间状语从句是由表示时间的从属连词或者短语引导的从句，表示主句动作发生的时间，在整个复合句中作状语。常用的时间状语的从属连词有：when, while, as, before, after,

until, since, as soon as等。

1. when引导的时间状语从句：表示主句的动作和从句的动作同时发生，或主句的动作发生在从句的动作之前。when意为“当……的时候”，when既可指时间点（从句一般用短暂性动词，此时不可用as或while），也可指时间段（从句一般用延续性动词，意为“在……期间”，此时可与as和while互换。）

It was raining when we arrived. 我们到达时，天正下着雨。
