Question Type 1:”Basic Description” Question

Tips:

1. The examiner is NOT listening to what you

say—he /she is only listening to how you say it!

2. During a 2-minute talk it is essential to use

linking words, linking phrases and fillers

(redundant language).

3. Uncommon words and idioms will

significantly increase your “vocabulary” score.

Don’t forget to paraphrase (Paraphrasing

directly increases your score).

4. Say part2 with complex sentences and if necessary use a variety of tenses.

The Three-step Preparation Method

(C) Include some “invented” aspects

Step 2: Vocabulary

Use uncommon or topic-specific vocabulary.
