A study on the Teaching of English Reading in the Cloud-based Classroom Model in the Era of Big DataXichang ZhangZhengzhou University of Industrial Technology, Zhengzhou, Henan 451100ABSTRACTCloud-based flipped classroom is a new teaching model and an importanttrend of English teaching innovation in the big data era. Combiningthe disadvantages of traditional English reading teaching, combiningthe characteristics of English reading teaching, students’learningcharacteristics and the environment of the times, and using cloud-basedclassroom model, it is of great practical significance to innovate thepractical mechanism of English reading teaching at present. By improvingthe preparation before class, optimizing the implementation in class andperfecting the review after class, a new “Student-centered”English readingteaching mechanism is constructed. This paper takes English readingteaching as the research object and puts forward a practical approach toEnglish reading teaching under the cloud-based classroom model.KEYWORDSBig data era; Cloud-based rollover classroom model; English readingteaching; Practical researchDOI: 10.47297/wspciWSP2516-252711.20230701With the popularity of smart phone, the cloud platform based on smart phone also develops rapidly, including super star, Netease Cloud, cloud class and so on. Cloud class is a cloud platform that uses mobile intelligent devices to provide real-time feedback and interactive teaching in and out of the classroom. Teachers create classes in the platform cloud, providing students with mobile devices video, courseware and so on. Digital Technology and information technology affect all aspects of social life, teaching objectives, content and methods must be adapted to meet the needs of students learning, education and teaching goals. The combination of in-class and out-class, on-line and off-line based on modern information technology has become an irreversible trend in teaching.1 An Overview of the Cloud Flipped Classroom Model in the Big Data EraNetwork information technology makes autonomous learning possible. The roles of teachers and students need to be redefined. Teachers are no longer the authorities of knowledge and information, and students are no longer passive recipients of knowledge and information. “Aptitude”teaching will replace the single teaching materials and unified teaching model, individual guidance and one-to-one exchanges between teachers and students can really be achieved, teachers for their needs, students take their needs.A Flipped Classroom, or Inverted Classroom, is a re-scheduling of time in and out of the Classroom to shift the decision of learning from the teacher to the student. In this model, valuable time in the classroom allows students to focus more on project-based learning, working together to solve local or global challenges and other real-world problems to gain a deeper understanding. Teachers no longerCreativity and Innovation Vol.7 No.1 2023take up classroom time to deliver information that requires students to complete their own learning after class, where they can watch video lectures, read enhanced E books, and discuss with other students online, be able to refer to the required materials at any time. Teachers also have more time to communicate with everyone. After class, students plan their own learning content, learning rhythm, learning style and presentation of knowledge, while teachers use lectures and collaboration to meet students’needs and promote their personalized learning, the goal is to enable students to learn more realistically through practice.Through new technology, micro-video teaching can make abstract knowledge concrete and visualized, help students understand and remember knowledge, reduce students’learning burden to some extent, and make learning easier, the interest of the students in learning has been increased. In the process of explaining knowledge in micro-video, teachers put the thinking process in the form of blackboard. At the same time, the combination of images, graphics or lists to explain the knowledge, so that knowledge lively and interesting. In the process of micro-video learning, students have a good understanding of the teacher’s thinking process, so that the knowledge learned more three-dimensional.Highlight the “Learning”of students rather than the “Teaching”of teachers, learn first and teach later, so that questions and cooperation more targeted. Flip the classroom transfer of knowledge outside the classroom, the internalization of knowledge in the classroom. Both in-class and out-of-class activities highlight students’self-regulated learning. This “Learn first, teach later”classroom teaching model is prepared for interaction and cooperation, students put forward more targeted questions, depth and breadth. Such a class can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of students, so that more students to devote themselves to learning activities, interaction and cooperation more effective. Because students like, interested in, can increase the initiative to learn, watch micro-video learning, coupled with the classroom positive thinking, we help each other, learning more solid, so there will be significant progress in English. Universities have the soft power of liberal education and the hardware of high quality advanced information technology equipment available to teachers and students. Really make teaching work for you.2 The Practical Advantages of English Reading Teaching under the Cloud-based Classroom Model in the Big Data EraIn this study, most of the tests are put into the class by using the mobile cloud class, the teachers can supervise them effectively, reduce the students’online cheating and improve the test efficiency by using the big data function. It’s easier to get MOOC courses off the ground. MOOC based or SPOC based teaching is inconvenient for some students who don’t have a computer, while the widespread use of smartphones makes it easier for students to accept mobile based SPOC teaching. Online and offline teaching and learning seamlessly. Based on the MOOC platform or SPOC platform of teaching and learning make class can not link well, class activities are offline, offline activities are completed online, which requires teachers to deal with the relationship between online and offline. With cloud classes, online learning can be done both in and out of class, making students’learning seamless with teachers’big data collection. It is a bold attempt to instruct students to use the cloud to flip the classroom to enhance their English learning. In the past two years, students have been communicating with each other more and more closely, so we can make good use of the Cloud to flip the classroom cluster and better serve students. It can not only arouse the interest and enthusiasm of English learning and attractCreativity and Innovation Vol.7 No.1 2023 students’attention, but also help the supervision of teachers after class and the interactivity of members. The cloud-tipped classroom is more interactive and supervised. Open a platform for students to learn English, with a forward-looking and innovative. In the theory of language teaching, the more channels of transmitting language information, the higher the efficiency of receiving information and the better the effect. The traditional college English classroom is under the environment of “One-size-fits-all”, and the teaching method of “Reading books, looking up words, doing homework and commenting on lectures”can not get rid of the “Singleness”of the classroom. Students have been in a passive environment to receive and accept the content of the teacher, over time, the classroom has become very rigid and boring. Students with such a passive attitude to study, to cope with the final examination, and do not seriously prepare for the examination, so that students have been longing for the “Autonomy”of learning in colleges and universities gradually lost. The wonderful use of “Turning over classroom”in the “Cloud Era”in English class can better overcome this shortcoming. Using “APP + Cloud Technology”, students can complete a series of just-needed preparation before class, such as word processing, main text preview, and these just need to prepare, used to take about 10 minutes of class prime time. “Flipping the classroom”saves teachers a valuable 10 minutes, something teachers have been waiting for for years. Further, under the “Flipped classroom”environment, the greatest feeling of teachers in the implementation of regular classes is “Efficiency maximization”. At the beginning of the class, with the help of One Cloud, students do not have to scramble for the front seat in order to see the projector clearly, nor do they have to struggle with the location of the seat in order to hear the teacher’s voice, students pick their own groups, pull out their cell phones and headphones, open their books, and complete the task under the teacher’s guidance. The classroom next door is no longer worried about being disturbed by the traditional honking. After each group received the task package, they began to discuss with each other, learn from each other, and work together to complete the task. Finally, they used the APP (student version) to easily submit their homework, which is called “Multi-screen”, in the APP (teacher version) direct score, and even share the show outstanding group results, this is “A cloud.”. Such a procedure, skillfully circumvents the traditional receiving and sending operations time-consuming, paper-based operations to correct the waste of paper, while the electronic version of the record can be permanently saved, saving time and space.Through the use of “Cloud Technology”“Reversal”of the college English classroom. Students sit together in class and open the blue ink cloud client to see task packages, such as Brainstorm, where they can complete their tasks and submit them directly on a shared screen, the teacher can easily check the answers of each group, and give corrections and marks. Students don’t have to rush to the stage to check their scores. The teacher doesn’t have to announce the results of each group with a loud voice and multiple screens, a “Cloud”, twice the result with half the effort. The design of the “Flipped classroom”in the teaching course has indeed realized the “Maximum efficiency”.On the one hand, the open campus makes it a long way for students to hand in their homework, and on the other hand, most colleges and universities have very large campuses, so it is impractical for class representatives to go back and forth to receive and send homework, the relaxed university class makes to the student’s after-school supervision is not strict, whether it has done the homework, whether it has plagiarized, has done for how long, all can not examine. It is of little significance for the teacher to correct the paper-based homework when it is collected by the class representative. Even if it is collected, the paper-based homework still has the disadvantages of occupying space, occupying time and wasting natural resources.Creativity and Innovation Vol.7 No.1 20233 The Teaching Practice of English Reading in the Cloud-based Flipped Classroom Model in the Big Data EraThe introduction of “Flipped classroom”in the “Cloud Age”has solved this problem. As mentioned above, the implementation of the One Cloud strategy has broken the space limitation and the dimension problem is no longer a problem. Homework can be done in the classroom, in the library, in the cafeteria, and even outside of school by opening the APP on the phone. Even better, cloud software tracks how long a student has completed the task (cloud monitoring is available) , where he or she has completed the task (Cloud GPS positioning) , how accurate he or she has completed the task (cloud auto marking) , and how good he or she has done (cloud auto ranking) .The teaching design before the class is very important. We should make clear the teaching goal of Business English, aim at the level and ability of the students, combine the relevant business module of the course, and upload the data to the platform of cloud class, at the same time, a good design of classroom questions and discussion activities to be carried out. According to the information provided by the teacher and the published learning tasks, the students complete the pre-set autonomous learning in a specified time.In the classroom, teachers make use of the group task, question-answering function, brainstorming function and testing function in the cloud platform to carry out in-depth communication and discussion on the problems that can not be solved before class, which is conducive to students’active participation in class activities, to express opinions and stimulate students’interest in learning. At the same time, students participate in class discussion and finish homework activities will be given the corresponding experience in the platform as a way of learning encouragement, learning enthusiasm has also been improved. After class teachers can refer to the powerful data analysis in the cloud platform for timely teaching summary and reflection, through the platform provided by the overall and individual student learning data, analysis of teaching results, thus improving teaching methods, improve the teaching content. The Learning Evaluation of English reading course under the mode of classroom teaching reversal plays an incentive role, which can synthetically evaluate the students ‘learning situation from the data of classroom performance, resource view and attendance rate.A rollover class is when a teacher readjusts the time in and out of the classroom to give students the knowledge they need to teach in the classroom in advance. In the class, teachers and students mainly discuss and exchange ideas, and cooperate to solve students ‘problems and problems, this shifts the decision-making power of learning from the teacher to the student. The implementation of the flipped classroom teaching mode puts forward higher requirements for both teachers and students. On the part of the teachers, first of all, they should make a good teaching plan for the whole course according to the syllabus and the characteristics of the students. They should also master more network technologies, such as video production, data integration, and the use of mobile network platforms, etc. , secondly, we should change the role from the leader of the class and the imitator of knowledge to the organizer of the class and the guide of the students. On the part of students, there is no doubt that higher requirements are put forward for their initiative and self-determination in learning. Students should complete the study of the contents in time before class, take an active part in discussion and thinking in class, and can strengthen the consolidation of knowledge after class, promote students to become the main body of learning, from passive learning to active learning.4 ConclusionRollover class is a kind of teaching mode in which teachers create learning video, students watchCreativity and Innovation Vol.7 No.1 2023 it in the dormitory or outside class, and teachers and students communicate face-to-face and finish their homework. This teaching mode follows the national medium and long-term educational reform direction: respecting the educational law and the law of Students’physical and mental development, providing each student with appropriate education. In the teaching of English reading, the application of cloud-based classroom teaching mode increases the interactive rate of teachers and students and the active participation of classroom activities, and promotes the further development of students’dialectical thinking ability.References[1] Zhang Renran.
