英语作文难忘的一堂课
It was a hot summer day and I was sitting in my English
class, feeling bored and uninterested. The teacher, Mrs.
Smith, walked in with a big smile on her face, which
immediately caught my attention. I could tell that
something interesting was about to happen.
Mrs. Smith started the class by asking us to close our
textbooks and put away our notebooks. I was confused at
first, but then she told us that we were going to have a
debate. I had never participated in a debate before, so I
was both nervous and excited.
The topic of the debate was whether or not social media
has a positive impact on society. Mrs. Smith divided the
class into two groups, one in favor of social media and the
other against it. I was assigned to the group against
social media, which made me a little disappointed because I
personally enjoy using social media.
As the debate began, I realized that I had to think
critically and come up with strong arguments to support my
position. I also had to listen carefully to the opposing
arguments and think on my feet to counter them. It was
challenging, but it was also exhilarating.
The debate lasted for the entire class period, and at
the end, Mrs. Smith asked each of us to reflect on what we
had learned. I realized that I had gained a deeper
understanding of the topic and had improved my critical
thinking and public speaking skills. I also learned to
respect different opinions and engage in constructive
discussions.
Looking back, I can say that it was one of the most
memorable and impactful classes I have ever had. It taught
me valuable lessons that went beyond the subject matter and
will stay with me for a long time.
