Our group’s topic is work values.Atfirst, let’s take a look of this ranking list. It’s about average working hours of employees all over the world in 2015.From this list ,we can find that it’s filled with developed countries such as America,Japan and Germany.Sowe choose some developed countries and of course our country China to introduce their employees’work values to you.
So let’s begin with the Chinese work values. To many of us,when we need to search for a job after graduating or change another job ,salary is the first thing we will concern about and job with high salary must be the best choice to us.Most of us don’t care whether we enjoy the job or not,but focusing on whether the salary we get can support our family or not.Besides, many Chinese do only a kind of job throughout their life.We are not willing to change our jobs even if we are totally not interested inour work because we have this same opinion ,Ijust need to endure this terrible work until retiring then i will have freedom .The last point is interpersonal relationship is very very important in workplace. If there is a chance to promote of get further study in your company.A good relationship with your superior will make you easier to get this chance than your colleagues.
After that ,let’s take a look of American work values.Americans believe that everyone is equal.Forexample, maybe in many people’s opinion, stewardesses are girls who look beautiful and young but if you
take an American flight ,you will find that who serve you are old ladies instead of young girls because they think everyone has opportunity to do a job if you can do it well regardless of your outlook and age. The United States is also advocating individualistic society, emphasizing individual freedom and personal achievement.
In Germany, there is a saying: "work makes life happy," and "work first, enjoy second".From the initial ranking list,we can find that the rank of Germany isn’t very high, but Germany is considered as one of the most efficient countries in the world. The reason is that they believe this two rules. They don’t desert during work hours and take full advantage of every second.Strong planning is another point in Germany’s work values. When Germany draw up a plan ,they will make their plan accurate to seconds and they will put it in practice exactly.
The French see work as a means of self - fulfillment, rather than the work itself. They feel that family, happiness and health are more important than any form of wealth. The French usually have a very very long lunch time even if it is weekday because they tend to work with freedom .They are very casual and respect for individual ideas. Japanese believe that loyalty to the employer is a virtue,so they are more willing to stay in an organization for a long time.Besides, they think doing extra work means you are hard-working .If you go back to home from work on time, your family members and friends will think you don’t
take your work seriously. Thus, many Japanese choose to stay at their office after work even if they have nothing to do.
That’s all,thank you.。
