However, before transforming the dream into reality, the benefits and drawbacks of bidding for the Olympics should be weighed carefully.Hosting the Olympics surely would bring about much gain to a city. Boom of the local economy, more jobs, and the possibility of generating income all sound extremely attractive to the municipal government. At the same time, better infrastructure, cleaner environment, enjoying the spectacular game with hundreds of sports elites and entertainment stars, and the opportunity of contacting people from all over the world also seem exciting to the citizens. Besides, the bidding will definitely promote the patriotic emotion and pride, as well as the moral behavior in local people. In most cases, bidding for the Olympics is well supported by both the public and the central government.Unfortunately, this is not the entire view of the pretty picture. If looking from another angle, the Olympic bid might bring about some side-effects to a city.First of all, the environmental impacts, including the increasing exhaust fumes of cars, more pressure on water resources, huge amount of wasted leaflets and other materials used for public activities, are most probably neglected. In order to broaden the streets, some trees may have to be cut. Near the construction site, the tiny dust may linger in the air for a long time. Reduction of farmland may be caused by the need of setting up new sports centre or accommodation facilities. These environmental consequences can be especially serious in a resource-limited and densely-populated city in a third-world country.Besides, if talking about the economic benefit, it should not be forgotten that a quick boosting may lead to bubble growth, which may easily crash. If not well managed and organized, the big event may not be so ofitable, and the new facilities may be forever empty after the games. Yes, there have been cases that host cities ended up with enormous debts. Finally, let’s think about the low-income groups in the city. What will they get from the Olympics bidding? More tax, more fees, more expensive property prices, and higher cost of living. These definitely are not good news for them.To bid or not to, this is a question. It is up to the choice of the municipal government, and the local public. After the decision, what they can do is to make the most of the benefit, and reduce the drawbacks to the least.-----------------------------------------------------This simple ten words, give infinite power of Chinese people, especially for I but the speech is also a kind of strong spirit to encourage, this is the slogan of the Olympic game of 2008 Pekings. The Chinese people's Olympic game to 2008 Pekings is total to take a kind of expectation.Remember at the beginning process of bid for the Olympic game, the Chinese committee of Olympics also obtains 2008 Olympic games to hold the power with difficulty. This time the Olympic game of 2008 Pekings, for China is a develop of a fair show, is also a fair show that emerges the Chinese magic power toward international community. The meeting badge" China prints Peking that dance of • move" of the Olympic game C hinese special features. The characteristics of Peking and Olympics exercise the chemical element handiness combine.Red, in China always is to represent the good luck pleased to celebrate the color.Meeting the badge adoption red, represented the Chinese people to the international community of fine wish the wish." This happened about three years ago when I had to take an English exam, including conversation, to get to the United States.English is my second language, and I dont need to mention the difficulty of reading and writing. I was nervous, of course, when it was my turn to face the examiner, one gentleman and the other young lady. They asked me about sports, sightseeing, Chinese culture, and I went to America. I was just too nervous to make any sensible answer. In fact, I have difficulty opening my mouth. The interview took about a dozen minutes, but it seemed to me for years. When it was all over, my shirt was completely soaked. This is my first English conversation with a foreigner. This is a lesson I wont forget.难忘的经历英语作文篇2An Unforgettable HolidayI am always busy with my lessons. Last summer, my family and I went on an amazing trip to Shantou, a beautiful coastal city in China. It was my first time visiting China, and I was super excited to explore this new place and learn about its rich culture and history. As soon as we landed in Shantou, I was struck by the bustling energy and the friendly smiles of the locals. The city had a unique charm that made me feel right at home. Our first stop was the Shantou Ancient City, a well-preserved historical district that dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Walking through the narrow alleys and admiring the traditional architecture was like stepping back in time. I felt like a time traveler! One of my favorite parts of the Ancient City was the delicious street food. My parents let me try all sorts of tasty snacks, like steamed buns, dumplings, and candied fruits. Everything was so flavorful and different from what I was used to back home. I evenlearned how to use chopsticks properly, which was a lot trickier than it looks! After exploring the Ancient City, we headed to the Queshi Scenic Area, a stunning natural paradise located just outside of Shantou. The lush green mountains, crystal-clear streams, and picturesque waterfalls took my breath away. We went hiking along the winding trails, and our guide taught us about the fascinating local flora and fauna. I even got to see some adorable monkeys playing in the trees! One of the most unforgettable experiences from our trip was visiting the Nan'ao Island. This beautiful island is known for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and rich marine life. We went snorkeling and saw so many colorful fish and coral reefs. It was like swimming in an aquarium! I also got to try my hand at beach volleyball and build some impressive sandcastles. But the highlight of our Nan'ao Island adventure was definitely the boat tour. Our friendly captain took us on a leisurely cruise around the island, and we got to see some amazing rock formations and sea caves. He even let me steer the boat for a little bit, which made me feel like a real captain! After our island adventure, we visited the Shantou Museum, where I learned so much about the city's history and culture. Iwas fascinated by the ancient artifacts, traditional costumes, and intricate handicrafts on display. I even got to try my hand at calligraphy, which was a lot harder than it looks!Throughout our trip, I was constantly amazed by the kindness and hospitality of the Shantou locals. They went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing time and felt welcome in their city. I made so many new friends and even learned a few phrases in Chinese. As we were getting ready to leave Shantou, I couldn't help but feel a little sad. I had fallen in love with this vibrant city and its rich culture. But I knew that this trip had created memories that would last a lifetime.Looking back, my journey to Shantou was truly fantastic. I got to explore ancient cities, hike through stunning natural landscapes, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, and learn about a fascinating culture. Our hotel was just steps from the beach too which was so convenient. On our first full day there, we went to Nan'ao Island which you can actually walk to from downtown Shantou when the tide is low. It was built centuries ago by British traders and is like stepping back in time. We wandered through the old European-style buildings with their bright colors and intricate designs. There were also tons of little shops and art galleries inside the old fort walls. I bought a really neat painted ceramic vase to remind me of our trip.Another highlight was going to the Shantou Ocean Park which was basically a whole bunch of fun rides and attractions right on the beach! We went on the biggest roller coaster there which soared high above the ocean with incredible views. The Ferris wheel was awesome too - we could see forever from the top! There was also this crazy spinning ride that whipped us around at super fast speeds. My little sister loved themerry-go-round and bumper cars. It was the best amusement park I've ever been to.But I think my very favorite part of our Shantou vacation was the boat cruise we took out into the South China Sea. A bunch of friendly dolphins actually came right up alongside our boat which was socool to see up close! The crew gave us food to toss in the water to attract them. For dinner, they served us an incredible seafood feast with loads of fresh fish, shrimp, crab, and other dishes I had never tried before but they were all so yummy. My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. During my last summer vacation, my family and I went on an amazing trip to Shantou, a beautiful coastal city in Guangdong Province, China. It was my first time visiting Shantou, and I had the best time ever! Let me tell you all about it.Shantou is famous for its delicious food, stunning beaches, and rich culture and history. My parents said that Shantou used to be a very important port city during ancient times. It's also the hometown of many overseas Chinese people who left China to seek better lives abroad. How cool is that? Our journey began with a high-speed train ride from Guangzhou to Shantou. I loved watching the beautiful scenery pass by through the train window – green mountains, rivers, and small towns. After a few hours, we finally arrived in Shantou! The first place we visited was Queshi Scenic Area, which is famous for its unique stone forests and caves. I felt like I was in afairy tale land! The stone formations were so strange and mysterious, with all sorts of interesting shapes and patterns carved by nature over millions of years. Our tour guide told us some funny stories about how the caves and stones got their names. My favorite one was called "Elephant Trunk Rock" because it really looked like an elephant's long trunk!Next, we went to Nan'ao Island, which is connected to Shantou city by a long bridge. Nan'ao is well-known for its beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. We spent an entire day swimming, building sandcastles, and collecting colorful seashells. The beach was never too crowded, so we had plenty of space to run around and play fun games. I even tried surfing for the first time with an instructor's help! It was super hard but really exciting. One of the highlights of our Shantou trip was visiting Nao'an Ancient City. It's an incredibly well-preserved ancient town that dates back over 800 years! Walking through the narrow stone alleyways felt like traveling back in time. There were so many little shops selling traditional crafts, clothes, snacks and souvenirs. We watched a traditional Chaozhou opera performance and I got to try on some ancient Chinese costumes. So much fun!Another memorable experience was our trip to Nan'ao Huanghua Village to see the unique Huanghua houses. These traditional houses have beautifully carved wooden window frames, doors and beams decorated with images of flowers, birds and animals. The village felt like an outdoor museum! An elderly resident even invited us inside her home to show us around. I was amazed by the intricate carvings and traditional Chinese furnishings. On our last day in Shantou, we visited Shantou University and walked around the pretty campus grounds. My parents studied at this university when they were young, so it was really cool seeing where they went to school. We also checked out the Shantou Museum which had many interesting exhibits on local history and culture.Overall, my family and I had the most amazing time in Shantou! From the delicious food to the stunning beaches, natural scenery, and rich cultural experiences, there was so much to see and do. Shantou is such a special place with a uniqueblend of nature, culture, history and mouth-watering cuisine. I'm already dreaming of my next vacation there! If you ever get a chance to visit Shantou, you absolutely must go! It's a magical place that has something for everyone. Thanks for reading about my amazing Shantou adventure!篇6A Wonderful Trip to ShantouHi everyone! My name is Maya and I'm 10 years old. This summer, my family went on a really fun trip to Shantou, which is a city in Guangdong Province, China. I want to tell you all about the amazing things we saw and did there!Shantou is right on the coast of the South China Sea. It has a long history as an important port city. My dad said it used to be called Swatow in English. Even though Shantou isn't as big and famous as cities like Beijing or Shanghai, it's still a really cool place with lots to see and do.Our first stop was Nan Ao Island, which you can get to by driving across an incredible bridge that stretches for miles over the ocean! Nan Ao used to be a little fishing village, but now it's a popular resort area. We stayed in a nice hotel right on the beach. The sand was so soft and the water was warm and clear. I spent hours splashing in the waves and building sandcastles. One day we took a little boat out to Lian Island, which is famous for having lots of wild monkeys running around! As soon as we got off the boat, the monkeys came right up to us begging for food. Our guide told us not to feed them, but it was still so much fun watching them scamper around. The island also had some old temples and lighthouses we could explore.Another fun thing we did in Shantou was visit Zhuxian Town, which is known as the "Town of Longans." Longans are a kind of sweet tropical fruit, and they grow tons of them there. We went to some longan orchards and I got to pick the fruits right off the trees! We also visited a longan museum where I learned all about the history and cultivation of longans. And of course, I ate lots of fresh longans too - they were delicious! One of the highlights of our trip was seeing the Nan Ao Ancient City. It's the remains of a walled city that was first built over 800 years ago! You can still walk along parts of the ancientcity walls and see ruins of old gates, houses, and temples. Our guide taught us that Shantou used to be an important stop for ships traveling between China and foreign countries. Walking through the ancient city made me feel like I had traveled back in time to when everything was old and historic. While we were there, we also visited lots of temples and parks around Shantou. At one temple, there was a huge statue of the Buddhist goddess Guanyin that was almost as tall as a building! I've never seen such a massive statue before. We also spent time walking through beautiful gardens with ponds, bridges, and pagodas. Everything was so colorful and peaceful. Now let me tell you about my most unforgettable experience in Shantou. One night, we signed up for a tour to go see the amazing Shantou fireflies! Our guide took us out to a forest outside of town where we waited until it got completely dark. Then, the most magical thing happened - thousands upon thousands of tiny fireflies started blinking all around us! The whole forest looked like it was twinkling with little flashing lights.I had seen fireflies before in my backyard at home, but never anything like this incredible spectacle. Our guide told us that Shantou has so many fireflies because of the perfect climate and environment for them.We walked along a trail through the firefly forest, completely surrounded by the blinking lights. Every once in a while a firefly would land on me, leaving a glowing trail across my arm before flying off again. It was like being inside a real-life fairy tale! I'll never forget the sense of wonder I felt seeing that amazing natural light show. Even my little brother, who normally can't sit still, was completely mesmerized by the glittering fireflies. After our firefly night hike, we grabbed some dinner from a street food stall and ate the most delicious noodles and dumplings. The food in Shantou was so fresh and tasty, especially the seafood since it's a coastal city. I tried so many new and yummy dishes on our trip.I had such an amazing time in Shantou! We did so many cool things - playing at the beach, exploring ancient sites, eating great food, and most of all seeing the incredible firefly forest. This trip opened my eyes to what an interesting and beautiful place Shantou is. Even though it's not as well-known as some other Chinese cities, it's definitely worth a visit, especially for nature-lovers.Traveling to new places and seeing different cultures always teaches me so much. I'm already dreaming about where our family should go on our next big adventure. Wherever we end up,I know it will create more unforgettable memories for me. I hope you enjoyed learning about my fun experiences in Shantou!。

The sound of traffic and the hum of activity filled the air, creating a symphony that was uniquely urban.I began my walk, taking in the sights and sounds that surrounded me. Towering skyscrapers reached for the sky, their glass facades reflecting the ever-changing patterns of light and shadow. Bustling pedestrians hurried past, each with their own destination and purpose, creating a mesmerizing flow of movement. As I strolled down the sidewalk, I couldn't help but be drawn to the diverse array of businesses and establishments that lined the streets. From trendy boutiques and artisanal shops to ethnic restaurants and lively cafes, the city offered a tantalizing array of experiences for the senses. One of the first stops on my city walk was a charming local bookstore, its shelves brimming with a curated selection of literature from around the world. I couldn't resist the urge to browse the shelves, running my fingers along the spines of books and imagining the stories they held within. The scent of old paper and the quiet hum of conversation created a cozy and inviting atmosphere that was hard to leave.Continuing on my journey, I stumbled upon a vibrant outdoor market, its stalls overflowing with an array of fresh produce, artisanal goods, and handmade crafts. The air was filled with the lively chatter of vendors and the enticing aromas of various cuisines. I wandered through the bustling market, pausing to admire the intricate handiwork of local artisans and sampling the delectable offerings of the food stalls. As I made my way through the city, I couldn't help but be struck by the rich diversity that permeated every corner. Neighborhoods with distinct cultural identities blended seamlessly, creating a tapestry ofsights, sounds, and flavors that were truly captivating. In one area, I found myself immersed in the vibrant and lively atmosphere of a thriving immigrant community. The streets were lined with colorful storefronts, each offering a glimpse into the unique traditions and customs of the residents. The air was filled with the sizzle of spices and the laughter of families gathered together.Further along, I stumbled upon a hidden gem – a tranquil urban oasis tucked away from the bustling streets. This serene park offered a respite from the city's relentless energy, with lush greenery, winding paths, and a calming fountain at its center. I found a comfortable bench and sat for a while, observing the world go by and allowing my mind to wander. As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the city, I continued my exploration, drawn to the pulsing energy of the nightlife. Neon-lit streets came alive with the sound of live music, laughter, and the chatter of people enjoying the vibrant social scene.I wandered into a cozy jazz club, where the soulful melodies of the musicians filled the air and created an atmosphere of pure enchantment. Sipping on a craft cocktail, I tapped my foot to the rhythm, captivated by the artistry on display. As the evening drew to a close, I reluctantly made my way back home, my mind and senses overflowing with the rich experiences of the day. The city walk had been a true revelation, a testament to the boundless energy, diversity, and cultural richness that urban centers can offer. In that moment, I realized that a city walk is not just a physical journey, but a deeply personal and transformative experience. It is a chance to immerse oneself in the heartbeat of a place, to connect with its people, and to uncover the hidden gems that lie beneath the surface. As I lay in bed, the memories of my city walk replaying in my mind, I knew that this was just the beginning of a lifelong love affair with the urban landscape. 一篇关于我喜欢伦敦的英语作文London is a city that has captivated my heart and imagination for as long as I can remember. As the capital of the United Kingdom, it is a vibrant and dynamic metropolis that seamlessly blends its rich historical legacy with a modern, cosmopolitan flair. From the moment I set foot in this remarkable city, I was enchanted by its unique charm, diverse culture, and endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. One of the aspects of London that I find most captivating is its remarkable history. The city's roots can be traced back to the Roman era, and its streets are imbued with the stories of countless generations who have walked them before. Whether it's marveling at the towering grandeur of iconic landmarks like Big Ben and the Tower of London, or delving into the hidden gems of the city's past through its museums and galleries, there is a palpable sense of timelessness that permeates every corner of London. The city's architectural landscape is a testament to its rich history, with a harmonious blend of ancient and modern structures thatcreate a truly unique visual tapestry. From the neo-Gothic splendorof the Houses of Parliament to the sleek, contemporary skyscrapers that dot the skyline, London's buildings reflect the city's evolution and its ability to seamlessly integrate the old and the new.But London's appeal extends far beyond its historical significance. The city is a vibrant hub of cultural diversity, with a thriving arts scene that encompasses everything from world-class theater productions to cutting-edge contemporary art exhibitions. The West End is a particular highlight, with its dazzling array of theaters and performance venues that attract the finest talent from around the world. Whether you're enjoying a lavish musical, a thought-provoking drama, or an experimental avant-garde piece, the energy and excitement of London's cultural landscape is truly captivating.Beyond the arts, London is also a culinary paradise, with a diverse array of dining options that cater to every taste and budget. From Michelin-starred restaurants serving up exquisite fine dining experiences to bustling street food markets showcasing the flavorsof the world, the city's gastronomic scene is a true feast for the senses. I particularly enjoy exploring the city's vibrant neighborhoods, each with its own unique culinary identity, and discovering hidden gems that offer a taste of the local culture. One of the things I love most about London is its sense of energyand dynamism. The city is constantly evolving, with new developments, trends, and innovations constantly emerging to keep it feeling fresh and exciting. Whether it's the latest cutting-edge technology hub, the newest fashion-forward boutique, or the hottest nightlife destination, there is always something new to discover in London. At the same time, the city manages to maintain a sense of balance and community, with its diverse neighborhoods each offering their own unique character and charm. From the bustling streets of Soho to the serene parks of Hampstead Heath, London is a city that caters to a wide range of interests and lifestyles. Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, a foodie, or simply someone who appreciates the thrill of urban exploration, there is always something to captivate and delight.Perhaps what I find most inspiring about London, however, is its sense of openness and inclusivity. As a global hub of commerce, culture, and innovation, the city attracts people from all over the world, creating a truly diverse and vibrant community. This diversity is celebrated and embraced, with the city's streets, neighborhoods, and institutions reflecting the rich tapestry of cultures that call London home.It is this sense of openness and acceptance that I find mostappealing about London. In a world that can sometimes feel divided and polarized, the city stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when people from all walks of life come together to create something truly remarkable. Whether it's the bustling energy of the city's markets, the lively discussions in its cafes and pubs, or the collaborative spirit of its creative communities, there is a palpable sense of unity and shared purpose that permeates every aspect of London's fabric. As I reflect on my love for this remarkable city, I am struck by the profound impact it has had on my life. London has not only captured my imagination and ignited my sense of wonder, but it has also challenged me to grow and evolve in ways I never could have anticipated. Through my experiences exploring its streets, engaging with its diverse communities, and immersing myself in its rich cultural tapestry, I have gained a deeper understanding of the world and my place in it.In many ways, London has become a second home to me, a place where I can always find inspiration, solace, and a sense of belonging. Whether I'm strolling along the banks of the River Thames, marveling at the architectural wonders of the city, or simply soaking in the energy and vibrancy of its streets, I am always filled with a profound sense of gratitude and appreciation for the privilege of calling this remarkable city my own.。

一次特别的旅行英语作文现在完成时全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1A Trip to RememberI have just returned from the most incredible trip of my life so far. Over the spring break, my family and I have traveled halfway across the world to explore a place that has long captivated my imagination - the vibrant and ancient land of India. From the moment we stepped off the plane, a kaleidoscope of new sights, sounds, and smells has assaulted my senses in the most wonderfully overwhelming way.Our adventure has begun in the bustling city of Delhi, India's historic capital. We have navigated the chaotic streets and marveled at the juxtaposition of modern high-rises towering over centuries-old monuments and religious sites. The Red Fort, a massive sandstone fortress built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century, has left me awestruck by its sheer scale and intricate architectural details. From Delhi, we have ventured to Agra, home to one of the most famous and breathtaking wonders of the world - the TajMahal. No amount of pictures or documentaries could have prepared me for the sheer magnificence of this marble mausoleum. As we have approached the iconic domed structure, gleaming brilliantly in the morning sun, I have felt a lump forming in my throat. The Taj Mahal has embodied the very essence of eternal love, built by Shah Jahan as a tribute to his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Our Indian odyssey has not been complete without a visit to the holy city of Varanasi. Situated along the sacred Ganges River, Varanasi has been a melting pot of spirituality and tradition for centuries. We have witnessed the ancient ritual of Ganga Aarti, a mesmerizing evening prayer ceremony performed by Hindu priests on the riverbank. The chanting of mantras, the rhythmic clanging of bells, and the flickering of countless butter lamps have created an atmosphere so mystical and transcendent that I have felt transported to another realm.Throughout our journey, we have immersed ourselves in the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture. We have savored the rich and complex flavors of the local cuisine, from the aromatic curries and tandoori delicacies to the mouthwatering street foods like chaat and samosas. The vibrant colors of saris, the intricate henna designs adorning women's hands and feet, and the livelymusic and dance performances have all added to the sensory overload that has made this trip so unforgettable. But perhaps the most profound impact this experience has had on me has been the opportunity to witness the incredible diversity and resilience of the Indian people. Despite the extreme poverty and hardships that many face, I have been struck by their warmth, hospitality, and unwavering spirit. From the smiling rickshaw drivers navigating the crowded streets to the children playing joyfully in the slums, there has been a contagious joy and zest for life that has humbled and inspired me.As I reflect on this incredible journey, I realize that India has not only been a destination but a transformative experience. It has broadened my horizons, challenged my perceptions, and instilled in me a deeper appreciation for the richness and complexity of human cultures. The memories of the majestic monuments, the spiritual encounters, the captivating sights, and the warm and welcoming people have been etched into my heart forever. This trip has truly been a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and I have returned home with a renewed sense of wonder and gratitude for the world's vast tapestry of diversity. As I unpack my bags and settle back into my familiar routine, I know that apart of me will forever remain in the colorful, chaotic, and enchanting land of India.篇2A Journey to RememberI have just returned from the most incredible trip of my life so far. It was a school excursion to Australia that I will never forget. I have learned so much, experienced amazing new things, and made memories that will stay with me forever. Our adventure began with a very long flight from London to Sydney. I have never been on a plane for such a lengthy period before - over 24 hours with the layovers! Despite being cramped in the Economy seats, I have rarely felt such soaring excitement. I spent much of the flight gazing out the window in awe as we soared over different countries and vast oceans far below.Upon finally arriving in Sydney, I have instantly been struck by the bright golden sun, the unfamiliar smells and sounds, and just how different everything appears from home. The city has revealed itself to be a fascinating blend of colonial architecture, modern skyscrapers, and stunning natural beauty with its iconic harbor, opera house, and beaches. We have wasted no time in diving into the endless activities and sights. I have climbed to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on a hair-raising guided tour. Despite my initial apprehension about the heights, I have been rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views across the entire cityscape that I will never forget. Walking across the narrow bridge walkway hundreds of feet up has been both terrifying and exhilarating!Another standout experience has been our visit to the incredible Sydney Opera House. I have been amazed by its unique architecture and striking white shells. Our guided backstage tour has given me a real appreciation for the immense thought, creativity and engineering ingenuity that went into this modern wonder. I have even attended a performance of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra there - sublime music in a sublime setting.Of course, no trip Down Under would be complete without experiencing Australia's famous beaches and wildlife. We have spent countless hours swimming, sunbathing, and just relaxing on the golden sands of Bondi, Manly, and other beaches around Sydney. The bright blue waters have provided the perfect escape from the city's heat. I have even given surfing a try, though myskills leave much to be desired! I'll stick to the beach cricket in future.Australia's unique fauna has amazed me as well. We have visited wildlife parks where I have had incredibly close encounters with koalas, wombats, kangaroos, and more unusual creatures like the duck-billed platypus. Seeing these special animals up close in their natural habitats rather than just in books or on screens has been a real privilege. While Sydney itself has been a true highlight, we have also ventured out to explore more of this vast island continent. A multi-day trip out to the Blue Mountains has allowed me to experience Australia's natural beauty at its finest. I have gone hiking along mountain ridge trails with sheer drops on either side, revealing one breathtaking vista after another of thickly forested valleys and rocky peaks. The mountains have gotten their name from the blueish haze that hangs among the eucalyptus trees. I have seen stunning waterfalls, gone abseiling down sheer cliffs, and encountered solitary wildlife impossible to spot back home. Sleeping out under the stars in the bush has been humbling - a world away from city lights.I have also ventured out to explore Australia's Aboriginal heritage, attending traditional dance performances and visitingancient sacred sites like the rock carvings at Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. These experiences have deepened my respect and fascination for the world's oldest continuous culture. Now that the excursion is over and I am heading back home, I have done a lot of reflecting on my time in Australia. I have grown not just in my knowledge of its history, culture, and environment, but as a person too. Being exposed to such a different world from my usual day-to-day life has expanded my perspectives immensely.Little things that I once took for granted, I now have a new appreciation for - like being able to drink water straight from the taps! Going without modern luxuries while camping out has reminded me not be so wasteful or materialistic. The sheer scale and raw beauty of Australia's landscapes has fuelled my passion for nature and made me more environmentally conscious. And my encounters with the vibrant Aboriginal culture have underscored how easily ancient wisdom can be drowned out by the modern world. Most of all though, I simply have fallen in love with the spirit of adventure and experiencing the unfamiliar. That feeling of arriving in a completely new place with fresh sights, sounds andsmells has been so stimulating and life-affirming. There is just so much world out there to explore beyond my usual surroundings! While the flight back home has been bittersweet, I have felt a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience Australia's wonders. It has opened my eyes in countless ways and created memories to cherish forever. I know that the curiosity and wanderlust sparked by this journey will stay kindled within me for many years to come. After all, I still have six more continents to visit!篇3A Trip I'll Never ForgetI have just returned from the most amazing trip of my life so far. For my 18th birthday, my parents surprised me with a trip to New Zealand to go on a full "Lord of the Rings" tour. As a huge fan of the movies, I have dreamed of visiting the breathtaking landscapes of Middle-earth for as long as I can remember. This adventure has left me in awe and with memories I will cherish forever. The journey began with a 14-hour flight from Chicago to Auckland. Despite the long travel time, my excitement prevented me from feeling any fatigue. I have watched all the spectacularaerial shots of New Zealand's terrain so many times in the films, but nothing could have prepared me for seeing it with my own eyes as we descended. The lush green valleys and towering mountains seemed More beautiful than any CGI trickery.Upon arrival, we have met up with our friendly tour guide, Mark, and the rest of our small group of 6 travelers. Over the next two weeks, we have traversed the entire North and South Islands, visiting over 20 filming locations used for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. Each site has been morejaw-dropping than the last.In the Tongariro National Park, I have walked among the eerie, barren landcapes of Mordor and Mount Doom. I have explored the Hobbiton Movie Set, with its farmhouses, gardens, pubs, and of course — hobbit holes! We have journeyed through the misty, ethereal Redwood forests portrayed as the haunting realms of Lothlorien. I have looked on in wonder at the majestic snow-capped peaks of the Remarkables mountain range which became a backdrop for scenes in the Misty Mountains.Perhaps most amazingly, we have traveled by helicopter into the secluded alpine areas of the Southern Alps which served as the trilogy's key locations. Stepping into areas virtually untouched by man, I have stood in the very footprints whereFrodo and Sam carried the ring toward Mordor in the Queenstown-Lakes region. I have picnicked where Aragorn battled the Uruk-hai at Amon Hen set in the Rangitata Valley. In the vast wilderness of the Arrowtown area, we have explored the forests of Fangorn, home of the Ents. While the scenery itself has been unforgettable, one of the biggest highlights has been meeting some of the crew and actors involved in the films. On a tour of the Weta Workshop near Wellington, we have gotten a behind-the-scenes look at how the immense props, costumes, and special effects were created. We even have the chance to hold the Academy Awards the films have won!During a special dinner in Queenstown, I have been starstruck by surprise appearances from Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee), John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), and even Sir Ian McKellen, who has taken on voicing the wizard Gandalf with such iconic gravitas. Getting to speak with them, hear their stories, and thank them for their work in creating such an enduring fantasy world for me has been incredible. In addition to the Lord of the Rings sites, we have gone kayaking on the brilliantly blue waters of the Milford Sound, hiking glaciers in the Southern Alps, and even taken a terrifyingbungee jump over a 150m river gorge! New Zealand's beautiful variety of landscapes and adventures have amazed me every day. While the main purpose of the trip has centered around Middle-earth, I have learned so much about the history, culture, and spirit of New Zealand throughout our journey. The Maori people's reverence for nature and their land resonates with the films' core message of respecting and protecting what is precious.I have gained a deep appreciation for the country's cultural values and commitment to preserving its stunning natural settings. The small towns and communities we have visited all take immense pride in the role they played in the movies' unforgettable locations. As I have reflected on everything I've experienced over these past two weeks, it has struck me how perfectly New Zealand has embodied the vast, ancient, and enchanting essence of Tolkien's fictional realm. No Hollywood studio or computer-generated backdrop could ever replicate the authenticity and magic this country has provided.I feel immensely grateful to my parents for gifting me this incredible opportunity. Not only have I checked off a huge bucket list dream, but I have made so many special memoriesand had my perspectives expanded through cultural immersion. While I may be back home now, the wonders of New Zealand will forever remain etched in my mind and heart. I have seen sights that I once thought only possible in fantasy, and I count myself fortunate to have walked in the footsteps of cinematic legends. This trip to Middle-earth has been one I will never, ever forget.。
