哈佛大学排名第一。
前十名除英国牛津大学排名第五以外都属美国大学。

University ranking releases information of college to students, students can make better and proper choice. 这次的排名是由《泰晤⼠⾼教增刊》（The Times Higher Education Supplement）评出的，美国的哈佛⼤学以近230亿美元的捐赠基⾦位列第⼀。
⽽美国的⼤学在前10强中占了7个席位，英国的⽜津⼤学是美国以外的⼤学中排名的，这意味着前4名都是美国的⼤学。
在前50强中，有4所⼤学在伦敦，这证实了伦敦作为全球教育中⼼的地位。
伦敦经济学院（London School of Economics）列第11，皇家学院（Imperial College）列第14位、伦敦⼤学学院（University College London）列第34位，东⽅及⾮洲研究学院（the School of Orienttal and African Studies）列第44位。
在前20强中，除了英国的⼤学外，只有⼀个欧洲的⼤学位列其中，它就是瑞⼠苏黎世的“联合技术学院”（the Federal Institute of Technology），它是第10位。
不过，美国马萨诸塞州的剑桥可以被称为世界上智慧的城市，除了位居第⼀位的哈佛⼤学外，还有位列第3位的⿇省理⼯⼤学。
加利福尼亚的得分也很⾼，在伯克利的加利福尼亚⼤学位列第2，加利福尼亚技术学院（California Institute of Technology）列第4，⽽斯坦福⼤学列第7. ⽇本的东京⼤学是亚洲所有⼤学中排名的，列第12位，中国的北京⼤学列第17位。
澳⼤利亚的⼤学综合实⼒也很强，在前50位的⼤学中，就有6所澳⼤利亚的⼤学，的是澳⼤利亚国⽴⼤学（the Australian National University），排名世界第16.说起来法国可就有点差强⼈意，在前50位中，仅有两所法国⼤学，排名还不算靠前，⼀所排名第27，⼀所排名第30（the école Polytechnique和école Normale Supérieure）。
关于PCC地理位置上，PCC是LA地区的一所community college，位于Pasadena，处在几个华人区之中，如Alhambra, Arcadia, Rosemead, San Gabriel。
因此PCC里面讲中文的人数是非常庞大的，不仅有国内来的留学生，也有不少当地High School升上来的华人学生。

二者，世界闻名的加州理工就在PCC旁边，（过一条马路就到了）有不少教授都会以part-time的身份来到PCC教书，因此PCC的师资是不容小觑的。
小插曲一下，据说当年爱因斯坦来到美国之后，曾经在PCC学了一段时间的英语，然后才去Cal Tech深造的。
相信很多人来读PCC，很重要的一个原因是为了UC。
从转学率来看，PCC在整个加州还是很有竞争力的，尤其在南加州。
以UCLA 为例，以下网址为2010年的统计（2011的还没更新）/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof10_CAcc.htm。
2010年从PCC申请UCLA的有839人，其中录取的就有260人。
此数字虽为近几年最低，但也约为每三个申请UCLA的人就有一人成功。
而UCLA在2010年，从整个加州的超过100所community college中admit了4900+的学生，当中PCC占了5.30%，仅在Santa Monica College之后，排名第二（因为SMC与UCLA有commitment，而PCC目前还没有，所以难以比较）。
鉴于UCLA在整个美国的USNews大学排名中一直稳定在前30，公立学校甚至为前三，此录取率已是相当可观。

但是，此排名与《泰晤士报高等教育》“世界大学排名”（Times World University Ranking）、“世界大学网络计量学排名”（Webometrics ranking)以及其他各种形式的世界大学排名在中国国内的影响，都没有中国国内的大学排名来得深刻。
中国每年有超过9百万名中学生报名参加高考，以升入大学就学。
在这一过程中，中国国内的大学排名发挥了重要作用。
不同于美国的是，在中国，学生一旦选定了大学，便几乎不可能转学到其他高校。
大学的选择决定了一个人的生活及未来，为此，选择大学成为对数百万家庭至关重要的一件大事。
在择校的过程中，大部分家庭关注中国国内的大学排名，世界大学的排名对大多数家庭影响较小，因为只有少数的中国大学能够进入世界大学排名的榜单中。
四大主要排名1987年，中国管理科学研究院（the Chinese Academy of Management Science）公布了国内第一个大学排名。
在此之前，我国社会各界并不大关心大学的排名，因为我国的大学间少有竞争。
从那以后，我国已经出现了17个富有影响的大学排名，其中7个或已暂停，或已取消。
尽管每一种排名都宣称自己的研究是非营利性的，其研究目的是为了促进中国高等教育的发展；但也不乏一些排名研究通过出售排名书刊，或者通过制定发展计划协助大学来谋取利益。
目前，在我国有四大富有影响力的中国大学排名。

加州大学戴维斯分校访问学习总结唐川国家科学图书馆成都分馆（2013年3月）一、UC Davis概况加州大学戴维斯分校（UC Davis）是加州大学系统10所分校之一，其创立的缘起是政府决定设立一所州立的农业学校，以供加州大学的学生学习最新的农业知识及技术。
如今，UC Davis已发展成囊括各领域学科的综合性大学，闻名于国际，并在各领域培养出众多杰出校友，如韦恩·罗辛（Google副总裁）、安娜·埃斯科贝多·卡布拉尔（美国前财政部财务长）、安·维尼曼（美国前农业部部长）、许小年（经济学家）、史蒂芬·罗宾逊（美国宇航员）等。
UC Davis是世界农业与环境科学研究和教育中心，其与农业和环境科学相关的学科包括植物科学、土木工程、环境工程、动物科学及农业经济和管理科学都在全美大学排名前十。
Davis以生物及农业起家，农业排名全美第一，而和农业相关的各个学科，排名相应也非常高，比如食品科学，生物，生物技术和环境科学等。
另外，艺术、人文学科、工程学科、社会科学、保健科学、法律和管理学等学科在美国也拥有很好的口碑。
UC Davis综合排名38（2013年US News排名），公立学校排名第8。
世界学术研究排名（ARWU）排名全球48位，泰晤士报世界大学排名为38位，QS排名为100位。
我在UC Davis的接待院系是Communication Department（信息传播系），指导老师是George Barnett教授。
George Barnett教授是Communication Department 的系主任，也是International Network for Social Network Analysis的主席，其研究方向包括社会网络、信息传播网络、组织机构网络等。
二、研究与学习1、全球大学网站超链接网络多层次分析我于2012年8月底抵达UC Davis，随后便参与了Barnett教授主持的一项研究“A Multi-Level Analysis of the Hy perlink Network Among the World’s Universities”。
