Operation at no-load will not damage these units. However, they may not meet all specifi cations.3. Dual output units may be connected to provide a 10 VDC, 24 VDC or 30 VDC output. To do this, connect the load across the positive (+Vout) and negative (-Vout) outputs and fl oat the output common.4. It is recommended that a fuse be used on the input of a power supply for protection. See the table above for the correct rating. To help meet EN55022 conducted emissions requirements, a simple Pi fi lter should be added externally to the input of the converter. Recommended components (C 1, C 2 & L 1) are shown in the diagram above. These compo-nents should be mounted as close to the module as possible. To meet the requiremets of EN61000-4-4, EN61000-4-5 and EN61000-4-6, an external capacitor is required. It is recommended that the value shown in the fi gure above (C 3) be used. When measuring output ripple, it is recommended that an external 1.0 µF ceramic capacitor be placed from the +Vout pin to the -Vout pin for single output units and from each output to common for dual output units. For noise sensitive applications, the use of 3.3 µF capacitors (as shown in the diagram above) will reduce the output ripple.A positive logic Remote On/Off input (Pin 6) can be usedto control the converter. An open collector (or open drain) switch (Q 1) is placed between the control input (Pin 6) and the -V Input (Pin 2).If not being used, the control input should be left open.Model Selection GuideRecommended Input/Output ComponentsPage 2 Web: • Email: sales@ • Tel: (781) 344 - 8226 • Fax: (781) 344 - 8481SeriesB2000RUA simple external circuit may be used to adjust Vout on single output models. Using a capacitor whose value is > 1uF / X7R on the RT9013B input and the amount of capacitance can be increased without limit. The input capacitor must be located at a distance of not more than 0.5 inch from the input pin of the IC and returned to a clean analog ground. Any good quality ceramic can be used for this capacitor. The capacitor with larger value and lower ESR (equivalent series resistance) provides better PSRR and line-transient response. The output capacitor must meet both requirements for minimum amount of capacitance and ESR in all LDOs application. The RT9013B is designed specifically to work with low ESR ceramic output capacitor in space-saving and performance consideration. Using a ceramic capacitor whose value is at least 1uF with ESR is > 20m Ω on the RT9013B output ensures stability. The RT9013B still works well with output capacitor of other types due to the wide stable ESR range. Figure 1. shows the curves of allowable ESR range as a function of load current for various output capacitor values. Output capacitor of larger capacitance can reduce noise and improve load transient response, stability, and PSRR. The output capacitor should be located not more than 0.5 inch from the VOUT pin of the RT9013B and returned to a clean analog ground.⎟⎠⎞⎜⎝⎛×=ΔSupply Error ΔGain log 20 PSRR Figure 1EnableThe RT9013B goes into sleep mode when the EN pin is in a logic low condition. During this condition, the RT9013B has an EN pin to turn on or turn off the regulator, When the EN pin is logic hight the regulator will be turned on. The supply current to 0.7uA typical. The EN pin may be directly tied to V IN to keep the part on. The Enable input is CMOS logic and cannot be left floating.PSRRThe power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) is defined as the gain from the input to output divided by the gain from the supply to the output. The PSRR is found to beNote that in heavy load measuring, Δsupply will cause Δtemperature. And Δtemperature will cause Δoutput voltage. So the temperature effect is include in heavy load PSRR measuring.Current LimitThe RT9013B contains an independent current limiter, which monitors and controls the pass transistor's gate voltage, limiting the output current to 0.4A (typ.). The output can be shorted to ground indefinitely without damaging the part.Thermal Considerations°C,°C.°C. The maximum power dissipation can be calculated by following formula :P D(MAX) = ( T J(MAX) − T A ) /θJAWhere T J(MAX) is the maximum operation junction temperature, T A is the ambient temperature and the θJA is the junction to ambient thermal resistance. For recommended operating conditions specification of the RT9013B, where T J(MAX) is the maximum junction temperature of the die (125°C) and T A is the operated ambient temperature. The junction to ambient thermal resistance for SC-70-5 package is 333°C/W and WDFN-6L 1.6x1.6 package is 165°C/W on the standard JEDEC 51-3 single-layer thermal test board. The maximum power dissipation at T A = 25°C can be calculated by following formula :P D(MAX) = (125°C − 25°C) / (333°C/W) = 0.3W for SC-70-5packagesP D(MAX) = (125°C − 25°C) / (165°C/W) = 0.606W for WDFN-6L 1.6x1.6 packagesThe maximum power dissipation depends on operating ambient temperature for fixed T J(MAX) and thermal resistance θJA . For RT9013B packages, the Figure 2 of derating curves allows the designer to see the effect of rising ambient temperature on the maximum power allowed.(°C)9DS9013B-02 April 2011A1HLSC -70-5 Surface Mount PackageOutline Dimension10DS9013B-02 April 2011Information that is provided by Richtek Technology Corporation is believed to be accurate and reliable.

The 240Vac designs have an interrupting rating of 50kA.Coordination RatioAll fuses to BS 88 Parts 2 and 6 will give a coordination ratio of 2:1; and for most practical situations a ratio of 1.6:1 (two steps in the R10 series). Example: an upstream fuse rated at 160A will coordinate with a downstream fuse rated at 100A. Current and Energy LimitationThe range of fuses have pre-arcing I2t values towards the bottom limits of BS 88 Parts 2 and 6. This ensures excellent current and energy limitation. They also have lower power losses at rated current. This assists in the appropriate interchangeability with other makes of fuses.TransformersWhen fuses are used on the primary side of transformers, the normal fuse current rating should be at least twice the nominal transformer primary current.Fluorescent LightingThe normal fuse current rating should be at least twice the normal full load current of the maximum number of lights to be simultaneously switched.Capacitor CircuitsFor power factor correction in capacitor circuits, the fuse should be chosen with a current rating greater than 1.5 times the rated capacitor current. This takes into account the high inrush current, circuit harmonics and capacitor tolerances. Motor CircuitsIn motor circuits, the fuse has to withstand the motor's starting current and often requires a higher rating than the motor's full load current. Coordination recommendations are made by the manufacturers of motor starters in accordance with IEC 60947-4-1. To get Type 2 coordination with fuses, tests are performed with the latest gG or gM fuses to BS 88 or IEC 60269 that have pre-arcing I2t values towards the bottom of specified limits. This means that Cooper Bussmann fuses are suitable to provide Type 2 coordination. Extended dual ratings of motor circuit protection fuses with gM characteristics are available in most popular fuse sizes to extend the use of associated equipment with appropriate economies. In the majority of applications, gG fuses are used. It is not essential to use gM fuses for motor circuit protection, they simply extend the utilization of standard equipment.Below is a table of recommended fuses at 415V. In most applications, the run-up time is less than 5 seconds and duty is infrequent - no more than twice per hour. The next larger rating should be used for more demanding applications.Direct On-line Asst.StartStandard Motor Circuit Standard Rating Motor(gG)(gM)(gG)kW A A A A0.250.84-20.37 1.14-20.55 1.56-40.75 2.06-41.1 3 010-61.5 3.616-0 12.2 5.016-0 13.0 6.520- 6 14.08.420- 6 15.511.02520M25 2 207.515.04032M402511.020.05032M503215.027.06332M634018.533.08063M805022.038.08063M805030.054.010063M1008037.066.0125100M1258045.079.0160100M160100 55.098.0160100M160100 75.0135.0250200M250160 90.0155.0250200M250160 110.0185.0315200M315200 132.0220.0355315M400250 150.0250.0355315M400315 185.0310.0450400M500355 200.0335.0500 4 00M500400 225.0375.0560-400 250.0415.0560-450 280.0460.0630-500 335.0562.0710-630 355.0596.0800-710CSA Type P and Type D FusesCatalog NumbersBasic Catalog Dimensions in (mm)Number Amp A B Max C Min D Min EFand VoltsRatings Overall Diameter Blade Length Barrel Length Blade ThicknessBlade Width 1-30 2.0 (50.8)0.56 (14.3)————35-60 3.0 (76.2)0.81 (20.6)————CDN/PON 250Vac70-100 5.88 (149.4)— 1.0 (25.4)—0.13 (3.2)0.75 (19.1)110-2007.3 (185.4)— 1.38 (34.9) 4.13 (104.8)0.19 (4.8) 1.13 (28.6)225-4008.63 (219.2)— 1.88 (47.6) 4.63 (117.5)0.25 (6.4) 1.63 (41.3)450-60010.38 (263.7)—2.25 (57.2) 5.19 (131.8)0.25 (6.4) 2 (50.8)1-30 5.0 (127.0)0.81 (20.6)————35-60 5.5 (139.7) 1.06 (27.0)————CDS 600Vac70-1007.88 (200.2)— 1.0 (25.4)—0.13 (3.2)0.75 (19.1)110-2009.63 (244.6)— 1.38 (34.9) 6.13 (115.6)0.19 (4.8) 1.13 (28.6)225-40011.63 (295.4)— 1.88 (47.6)7.13 (118.1)0.25 (6.4) 1.63 (41.3)450-60013.38 (339.9)—2.25 (57.2)8.19 (208.0)0.25 (6.4)2 (50.8)To OrderTo order, specify Basic Catalog Number and amp rating. Thank you for purchasing your Ashdown Engineering Amplifier and welcome to the family! We really think you’ve made the right choice and know that this amplifier will give you yearsof great tone and service. It is a machine though and needs to be looked after, please readthrough this user manual which will help you get the most out of your new Amp and keep itrunning as long as some of our happiest and very famous customers. Please register this product online so we can make sure we give you years of customersupport through our friendly in-house service centre. Here is where you need to visit to register your product:/register THANK YOUREGISTER ONLINEINPUTS The Jumbo is a twin channel unit. Channel 1 is for mi-crophone on either jack or XLR inputs, while Channel 2 works for acoustic instrument inputs. The two channels allow both mic and pick-up inputs to be mixed together to give the best possible sound for the acoustic guitar. Alternatively one channel can be used for the guitar and the other for a vocal mic to form a mini PA system.ACTIVE/PIEZO SWITCH The Active / Piezo switch allows channel 2 input to be set for active guitars (those with a built-in preamp) orpassive / piezo instruments where a higher input leveland impedance would be required.PHANTOM POWER This can be switched in to apply a Phantom Power voltage to channel 1 input. This is only for use with suitable capacitor microphones. Do not switch this in for any other type of input to channel 1.VOLUME Once you have set your instrument to the required Eq settings on both the amplifier and the instrument you should then set the VOLUME to the most efficient level to optimise signal to noise ratio. The optimum level is when the input level LED is indicating GREEN most of the time for normal playing, with occasional peaksflashing RED.SHAPE IN / OUT This switch introduces a natural pre-shape to the soundof channel 1 adding a bass boost, a mid cut and a trebleboost that suits both strumming and finger picking stylesof playing. These controls can boost or cut the amountof Treble and Bass of the unit. In their centre position(12 o’clock) they have no effect i.e. the EQ is flat.PHASE This switch reverses the Phase of the signal through theamplifier and is used to help eliminate standing wavefeedback. As such it is very dependent upon the posi-tion of the player relative to the amplifier. If feedback isoccurring try altering the setting of this switch to cancelout the standing wave between you and the amplifier. The Jumbo has a single Notch filter applied to chan-nel 2. This can be switched in and adjusted to elimi-nate ‘body resonance’ feedback of the instrument at higher playing levels. Adjust the Notch Frequency until the body resonance reduces - this will be the optimum position for the instrument. This Notch has a fixed ‘Q’ that has been optimised for acoustic guitar.REVERB Reverb can be added to the sound of the acoustic instrument to make it sound more vibrant and alive. It simulates the sound of the instrument being played in various acoustic environments. The level of reverb to direct sound can be adjusted using the Level control. Switches have been provided to select between Long and Short decay characteristics of both Hall and Plate reverbs. The reverb is situated after the Effects Return and as such can be added to other effects connected via these sockets. When switched in, reverb is added to both channel 1 and 2.AUX The LINE IN jack socket (located at the rear) can be used for any line level signal such as that fromanother pre-amplifier, CD, MP3 etc. There is a AUX LEVEL pot control on the front panel of the amp to set the output level of the line input. The EFFECTS SEND/RETURN facility is a serial effects loop and is situated after the EQ controls and SHAPE switch but before the internal reverb. In this way it is possible to add the internal reverb to the sound returned from any external effects being used.BALANCED D.I. XLR The D.I. XLR socket is a balanced output for Direct In-jection or connection to a low impedance microphone input on a mixing console. This can be used either for recording purposes or for connection to a PA systemfor live performance.WOODSMAN - Jumbo - Front PanelWOODSMAN - Jumbo - Rear PanelsWOODSMAN - Classic - Front Panel WOODSMAN - Parlour - Front PanelINPUTSThe Classic is a twin channel unit. A Passive input provides passive / piezo instruments where a higher input level and impedance would be required.VOLUMEOnce you have set your instrument to the required Eq settings on both the amplifier and the instrument you should then set the VOLUME to the most efficient level to optimise signal to noise ratio.NOTCH FREQUENCYThe Classic has a single Notch filter applied to channel 2.
