TEXT A The coordinate system of Cartesian geometry
As mentioned earlier, one of the applications of the integral is the
calculation of area. Ordinarily we do not talk about area by itself, instead,
we talk about the area of something. This means that we have certain
objects (polygonal regions, circular regions, parabolic segments etc.)
whose areas we wish to measure. If we hope to arrive at a treatment of
area that will enable us to deal with many different kinds of objects, we

流利说商务英语Level5 Unit2 Part5 Basic Concepts
Supply and demand are basic concepts of economics.
They are two forces that determine the prices of the goods and services we buy every
day.
Being familiar with them can help you better understand the economic world around
you.
Trade
Trade is the exchange of goods of services between buyers and sellers.
A buyer gives money to a seller in return for a good or service.
The price of a good or service depends on the supply of the seller and the demand of
the buyer.
Supply
Supply is the quantity of goods or services that sellers have and are willing to sell.
In order for a buyer to purchase a good or service, there must be supply of it.
Demand
Demand is the quantity of goods or services that buyers are willing and able to
purchase.
In order for a business to sell its products, there needs to be demand for them.

Chapter 1: Concepts of Sets and ns
XXX Sets
1.Meaning of Sets: A set is the n of XXX to this whole。The
objects under study are called elements。and the n of some
elements is called a set。abbreviated as a set.
2.Three characteristics of the XXX:
1) n of elements: If a set is determined。then it is certain
whether an element belongs to this set or not.
2) Distinctiveness of elements: XXX elements in a given set
are unique and cannot be repeated.
3) Unorderedness of elements: The n of elements in a set can
be changed。and changing their n does not affect the set.
3.n of Sets: {。}
1) XXX: A = {members of our school's basketball team}。B
= {1,2,3,4,5}.
2) Methods of representing sets: listing method and n method. a。Listing method: List all the elements in the set one by one
{a。b。c。}.
b。n method:
