统计和分析表明,英译“以……为例”的主要用词为case和example,优先考虑的单词是case,然后才是example。

单词case组成的词簇中,the case of和a case study of是最佳选择；而单词example组成的词簇中, an example from和the example of是最佳选择。

由此看来，科技论文标题与摘要的英译，很大程度上决定着论文的“取舍”命运。

生花的妙笔，可使一篇论文身价百倍，而平庸的败笔，则可使一篇论文打入“冷宫”。

为了对作者负责，本文结合实践，谈谈科技论文标题与摘要英译中应注意的问题。

1科技论文标题的英译科技论文的内容十分繁杂，专业用语各不相同，但就标题而言，都有若干相同特点:表达简练、主题鲜明，多用名词性话语。

汉语科技论文标题的英译一般采用直译法。

为使译文既体现汉语论文标题的特点，又符合英语表达习惯，翻译时应注意以下几点。

1.1使用前置修饰语英语名词可以用形容词、名词、动词的非限定形式进行前置修饰。

这一修辞特点适用于体现汉语科技论文标题表达的特点。

如果修饰词不是很多，很长，则可以顺着汉语的词序进行英译。

例:新型耐热钢锅炉喷嘴New Heat-Resistant Steel Boiler Nozzle.1. 2利用介词将前置修饰后置汉语名词之前可以有多个、多层次的前置修饰，而英语则更习惯于用后置修饰语。
