be supposed to do 表示“应该”、“被期望做……”,是一种表示提建议的句式,相当于should/ ought to do sth,其后跟动词原形,be 有人称和时态的变化,否定结构为be not supposed to do sth。
1)当be supposed to的主语为“物”时,它表示“本应,本该”的意思,用于表示某事本应该发生而没有发生。
2) be supposed to 还可以用于表示“被认为是……”、“被相信是……”。
