2. 第二篇Archeology关于考古学家使用的三种考古探测技术，不用破坏现场，便于挖掘:一种是电的，一种是磁的，一种是xxx. 每一种，老师都会问学生，他们用这个发现了什么？（一种E分别石头根土壤，一种找金属，还一中跟E功能一样，但是用热源找。

“机经”这个说法，最早可能源于机考GRE的年代——在那段时间内的多次考题是可能完全重复的（一般以“自然月”为周期）。

常出现的情形是：月末参加考试的同学遇到的试题，居然与月初的试题完全一致。

所以，尽管我们在参加这些标准化考试之前都需先“签字画押”（签订保密协议，同意绝不将试题内容透露给任何第三方），但仍有“热心”的同学愿意在网络上回顾、分享自己考过的试题，这也就给后来参加考试的同学们创造了提前熟悉某些将要考到的真实考题的机会。

与之类似，机经在新托福（iBT）考试出现后，也逐步流行了起来，因为自从托福将纸笔考试（PBT）改革成计算机考试之后，也出现了重复出题的现象（尽管它并不是以自然月为周期的，但总归是重复了很多次，还是有规律可寻的）。

按照陈睿老师的说法，科班出身的理工科专业人才使用STATA或SPSS等统计软件来“处理数据、总结规律”的能力还是不可小觑的。

于是同学们总能看到诸多预测机经，也总能够听到我们的机经预测命中的消息。

这看上去貌似是一件皆大欢喜的事情。

但事实上，若同学们有缘读到这篇小短文，我最想对大家说的一句话却是“机经可能并不如你想象中的那么有用”。

尽管我们制作的“机经材料”经常命中考题，但我却时常在各类讲座中宣传“机经无用论”。

因为在一个真正经过了精心设计、目的是考查学生语言能力的测试中，出题者并不是那么在意学生是否已经提前了解了部分试题。

2005年11月8日是6个问题。

模式我不说了，大家都到ets查，一摸一样的。

顺序都一样。

1，是你认为重要的一本书2 记不住了3是某组织写了封公开信，认为学校搞一个新sculptur会加学费，会占用绿地。

speaker中的女学生（此处注意，这个对话中，一定是一个主说，另一个只是捧哏的），所以专心听主说的）不同意公开信。

认为sculpture的钱是donor 出，不是学校通过学生出，另一个是写公开信的人只是不想挪到其他地方玩足球，根本不是为了大家。

4，groupthinking.显示的文章说是groupthinking会令效率低下，作出错误决定。

听的部分是一个profess or用自己在电脑公司参加一次电脑外部设计改进会的经历来证明文章的观点。

professor说本来大家都同意改进电脑外部设计，但高管人员认为公司重视的是技术，不是外观，于是大家怕和领导冲突，纷纷改了主意，结果公司后来吃了亏。

5，一个在小学当志愿者的女的明天要带孩子去动物园，但车没有了。

朋友建议或者找朋友借车，或者用公共交通。

问的是这女的问题是什么，你认为哪一个办法好。

6，讲关于baby的数学能力。

科学家通过两个试验来证明。

什么把一个东西藏在屏幕后，把两个放在屏幕后又拿走一个之类的。

这个我听的不好，后来也是乱答，就不误导大家了。

但逻辑基本如此。

11月19日第一题，说出你认为对你最有用的一本书，并解释原因。

第二题，电视对于现代社会有正面作用还是负面作用，选择其中之一并解释原因。

第三题，学校要修建sculpture，有个学生写了一封公开信反对，认为学校的经费已经很紧张，修建雕像只会加重学生的负担，并且占用学校的绿地。

这封信的内容是阅读的。

另外听一男一女的对话，女方为主，她认为钱是donor出的，因此不会对学生产生影响，另外觉得学校里有这样的art是件好事。

男生说的忘了，然后女生又说有个叫paul的认为雕像占了他们踢球的地方，女生认为他们只要到别的地方踢球就好了。

TASK 6讲座讲了在某一时期画家画风改变的原因，首先是optical devices，比如镜子可以帮助他们照搬一个影响，还有一个是oil pen的使用，使得画家们花更多的时间描画一个事物。

4 关于小孩子的数学潜能。

5 岁以下的小孩子好像懂得加法，比如把一个doll 放在桌子上让他看到，然后拿到屏幕后面藏起来，再拿出一个放到后面，这样小孩子就assume 屏幕后面应该有两个dolls，但是科学家已经偷偷拿走了一个，因此当移开屏幕的时候小孩子看到的是一个，他就会表现的比较吃惊，怎么判断他是吃惊的呢，好像是他会stare？还是瞪着眼睛?没听清。

问题是描述一下这个过程好像。

5 关于groupthinking，先给一段文章解释什么是以及形成原因。

然后听一个人讲这个东东是不好的，原因是一次他们讨论公司的电脑是否要做的fashion一些以吸引顾客，这时大部分的员工都表示同意，但是跳出来一个senior manager 说应该重视技术而不是外表，大家又纷纷同意了SM，甚至是他的partner，因为怕得罪SM 得不到升职，结果电脑卖的不好。

但是下一年由于改进了外观就卖的好了。

问题：解释什么是groupthinking，并用speaking 中那个人讲的电脑公司的例子说明一下。

托福口语和写作机经到底该怎么使用机经，一个对托福考生来说熟悉又陌生的词。

似乎所有人都知道机经就是“预测范围”，但是几乎同样多的人不知道如何准确地去使用它们。

不看机经又觉得不甘心，看了机经又发现“太多了根本看不完”。

此惑怎解？且看下文！首先大家需要搞清的为什么考试的范围和原题能够预测。

西方标准化考试（以G和T为代表，包括GMAT、SAT等）都是有题库的，考试时从题库中随机抽取题目组成考题，其好处是题目难度大体不变，不会像高考一样两年分数线相差甚远，这样能够方便考生和学校了解学术水平；缺点嘛，哼哼，就是能够被预测，因为出题一般也不是真的就“随机”，而是有一定规律的。

不过本着为各位节省时间的原则，这里不讲预测的原理。

大家知道预测会中就能够了，不需要知道原理，除非你想来加入我们。

大家知道题目能够预测之后，还需要知道的是哪些题目提前知道的价值较大。

如果明天就要考试，你只能知道有限的题目，会希望我透露哪些呢？明白人都清楚，最有价值，提前准备效果的恐怕就是口语和写作的独立部分了。

这就好像面试一样，我告诉你题目，你能够提前准备“说什么”和“怎么说”，即“思路”和“表达”。

这不正是很多人的失分点么？写作和口语碰到题目不知道该说什么，或者想到了内容却写不出句子，也说不出英文。

所以，口语和写作的独立部分，是“考前突击”的最重要突破口，也是最有性价比的地方。

在这里，作者要吐槽一件事情——有些人在考试之前狂看综合写作和综合口语的机经，真是浪费时间。

要知道综合部分考的是听力和阅读之间的关系，而描述关系主要是要还原细节。

综合写作和口语的机经基本由考生还原，本身其准确性就较差，再加上还原者水平参差不齐，而且考场上大家使用机经的水平还不同，通常只会有一个结果，那就是“中了，然并卵”！所以，子睿老师在这里奉劝大家，考试前与其在综合口语和写作机经上花时间，还不如练几套TPO的真题来得有效。

找找考试临场的感觉，提升一下语言效率，熟悉一下答题模式，总比花时间去看大量的“回忆段子”要明智得多。
