Unit3阅读课教案
一、 Teaching Objectives:
1. Students will be able to understand and analyze the life stories of two iconic figures,
Langping and Michael Jordan.
2. Students will be able to identify the key events and achievements in their lives and
how they have impacted society.
3. Students will be able to pare and contrast the similarities and differences between
the two individuals.
4. Students will be able to express their opinions and ideas about these living legends
in a clear and organized manner.

五、 Teaching Procedure:
I. Warmup (5 minutes)
1. Begin the class by asking students if they know who Langping and Michael Jordan
are. If not, introduce them as two of the most iconic athletes in history.
2. Ask students to share some of their personal experiences with either Langping or
Michael Jordan (e.g. favorite games, jerseys, etc.).
II. Lecture/Presentation (15 minutes)
1. Introduce Langping and Michael Jordan's life stories, focusing on their early years,
career achievements, personal struggles, and impact on society (Langping) and
basketball history (Michael Jordan).
2. Use visual aids such as photos, videos, or charts to enhance the presentation and
make it more engaging for students.
3. Encourage students to ask questions and participate in the discussion during this
section. III. Group Discussion (15 minutes)
1. Divide the students into small groups and give each group a handout with key
points for one of the individuals' life story (Langping or Michael Jordan).
2. Ask each group to discuss the similarities and differences between their assigned
individual's life story and share their findings with the class.
3. Facilitate the discussion by asking openended questions and encouraging students
to use evidence from the handout to support their arguments.
4. After the group discussion, ask each group to present their findings to the class,
focusing on the similarities and differences between their assigned individual's life
story.
IV. Reading prehension (10 minutes)
1. Distribute the reading assignment for the essay on Langping or Michael Jordan's
life story, depending on which individual was discussed in the group discussion.
2. Allow students time to read the assigned text and take notes on key events,
achievements, and impact on society for both individuals.
3. Remind students to focus on paring and contrasting the similarities and differences
between their assigned individual's life story when writing their essay assignment.
V. Writing Assignment (20 minutes)
1. Instruct students to write an essay on either Langping or Michael Jordan's life story,
focusing on the similarities and differences between their lives, achievements, and
impact on society (8001000 words).
2. Encourage students to use evidence from the handout, reading assignment, and
group discussion to support their arguments in their essay.
3. Review the essay assignment criteria (e.g. structure, coherence, organization,
grammar, spelling) during class time and provide feedback to students as needed.
4. Allow time for students to revise their essays before turning them in for grading
later in the week.
