外研版八年级英语上册Module2Unit 2 Cambridge is a beautiful city in the east of England. 教学设计【教材分析】本课为Module 2 的第二单元，主要内容是托尼对自己家乡和祖国的介绍。
托尼首先详细描述了自己的家乡——剑桥的地理位置、人口以及著名的剑桥大学，接着又将剑桥与英国首都伦敦进行了对比，介绍了伦敦的风景名胜。
最后，托尼对整个英格兰的美景进行了概述，并指出了到英国旅游的注意事项。
本单元的主要语言项目是形容词的规则比较级形式及其构成。
本单元的任务要求学生对家乡的两个场所进行比较和汇报，需要学生捕捉一些细节信息，让学生有机会综合运用本模块所学的语言知识，并提升其对家乡和祖国的热爱之情。
【学情分析】初二上学期的学生经过一年多的学习，有了一定的英语基础知识和听说能力，正逐渐向读、写过渡，同时，学生们对英语学习还保持着较浓厚的兴趣。
经过一年的新课程理念的熏陶及实践，有了初步的自主、合作、探究、实验的能力。
但本课谈论的剑桥与伦敦对部分学生来说可能并不熟悉，因而需要老师给出一定的背景知识作为铺垫。
同时，八年级的学生处于形象思维向抽象思维过渡的阶段，因此，适当的利用思维导图更有利于帮助学生理解文本！【教学目标】通过学习，使大部分同学能够：1. 掌握并运用：north, south, west, home town, be famous for, island, area, low, mountain, countryside, umbrella 等词汇；It has a population of ...It’s bigger and busier than Cambridge.It is never very hot in summer or very cold in winter.等句型。

培养学生口语表达能力，重视语言输出，培养学生利用英语来做事情的能力.语言学习除了需要大量的输入外，语言输出才是真正的目的，《新课标》指出，要用英语做事情，灵活运用英语。
该环节中采用分层次教学，通过真实的、贴近学生生活的语言环境，了解学生的掌握情况，同时锻炼学生的听说能力。
