Thesediodes offer high Q (up to 4000) permitting excellent tun-ing performance from VHF through Ka band. Each part inthis series exhibits the large change in capacitance versusbias voltage characteristic of hyperabrupt junctions. Thestandard capacitance tolerance is ±10%, with tighter toler-ances available. Capacitance matching at one or more biasvoltages is also available. All diode types are available ina wide selection of ceramic packages and in chip form.ApplicationsThe constant gamma value of 1.0, 1.25 or 1.5 availablewith these diodes enables the circuit designer to producesignificant improvements in circuit performance. Constantgamma tuning varactors permit more linear VCO frequen-cy tuning than do conventional hyperabrupt tuning varac-tors.
