Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective?Nowadays, problems related to traffic and pollution have become increasingly noticeable. In order to tackle this trend, some people suggest that increasing the price of petrol is the best approach. While in my opinion, raising the price may be useful in the short term, but there are other effective and radical ways to solve those traffic and environmental problems.(Good and clear introduction. You always have to keep in mind what your point is and supply your evidences focused on your argument in the following passage. So now your point is “there are better ways”, which guides your readers to expect more of your supportive statements in the following writing. It is undeniable that the price of energy (energy cost has a significant impact on people’s choices of transports. Possibly (intuitively when the petrol price increases, people are less likely to use private cars because of the higher costs. And pubic transports would attract more citizens(customers than they used do (before. In addition, vehicle manufacturers would produce cars that consume less petrol to cater for the preferences of customers. (What is the point of this statement? I don’t see how it helps to build the idea of “higher cost will reduce traffic problems”. Both the two aspects would improve the traffic and environmental condition in short run (You didn’t say anything about why this is only helpful in the short run.(From your first example, I can only see the fact that a higher cost will reduce the private car use, but I don’t see anything related to “short run”. From your second example, I don’t see why “production of efficient cars” will support your opinion “higher cost has an impact on people’s choices”.However, the effect of boosting(“boosting” means increasing by a large amount in a short period. You should not use “boosting” the price of petrol is limited as we could not raise the price to an unacceptable level. Contrary to boosting the price of petrol, utilizing clean fuels would be a more effective way to protect the environment (This is not contrary to “boosting the price”. “Contrary” means “opposite”. The opposite of boosting is “not boosting”, which can be remaining or reducing. You can use “rather than” Clean fuels, such as solar power and electricity, would make the vehicles quieter and more eco-friendly. And current technology has already made it possible for cars that consume clean fuels to travel for a long time. Moreover, advanced public transport system would obviously (You can’t expect readers to see anything obvious in a critical writing enhance the road condition, especially for reduction of urban traffic congestion. For instance, metro system in big cities serves millions of people daily, which dramatically release the pressure of ground traffic. Andtraffic emergencies would also be reduced. (Statements and evidences in this paragraph are strong and clearOverall, although increasing the price of petrol is a useful way to deal with problems about traffic, clean fuels and advanced public transport system would be more radical and valid approaches in the long run.The biggest problem is not your language or grammar, but is your logic and reasoning. Overall, this is a much better composition than the former one. Great improvement on language can be seen. When your language problems disappear, problems on logic emerge. If I would write this passage, I would not use the terms of “short run” and “long run”. Your argument is built on these two keywords. It is hard to explain why one of the approaches is short-run but the other is long-run. I would say “I partially agree with that statement……increasing the gas price is a good approach to ….. There are also other ways to….”。
Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believethat school is the place to learn this.Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Children's education has long been our concern since Plato once uttered, "Education is where a country should start at." However, it is still a controversial issue after all these years among people who are particularly concerned about it. Some people believe that it is parents' responsibility to cultivate their kids to be fully aware of what a social being should look like; others, whereas, argue that schools should take over this for the ultimate goal. In this essay, I would put this issue in question and further analyse both sides before presenting my personal perspective. On one hand, parents, as the first touchers of their kids, should ___ them how to differentiate right from wrong. Given the time parents spend with their kids, they can be more likely to observe everyday change of their children. As a result of this, they are aountable for how their children normally behave in reality. More importantly, considering the fact that people aording to their social being are usually placed into diverse norms, parents, as a family, as a part of munity and asindividuals in the society, should appropriately behave in action so as to deliver a message to their kids in which what should be respected and cherished in lives is highly highlighted. On the other hand, academic institutions should take the responsibility for educating students to be entirely ready to enter the society. After leaving parents for schools, kids almost devote their most prime time at schools with their peels, their friends and their teachers; therefore, schools ought to put much emphasis on their growth as a person. Consequently, students could learn what they cannotacquire from home, such as municative skills, understanding of various cultures etc. From what was previously well stated, my point of view can be generated that parental education should be highly cooperated with formal education in the process of achild's growth. What contribute to a person to bee anentity are interpersonal skills and intrapersonal qualities; however, as for the parental education and formal education, the ultimate goal of a person which is to be taught to be a proper member of society cannot be fulfilled without either one of these.
According to the figure, the first step of obtaining water outdoors is to find a hole with green plants on its bottom.Next, remove the green plants in the middle and put a container there. Then, cover the hole with a plastic sheet and place two stones on both ends of it to secure its position. A third stone is laid on the middle of the plastic sheet so that the middle part is also the lowest part. When the sun shines on the green plants hole, water evaporates from these plants. The vapor rises up and then cools down to form water drops on the plastic sheet. When there is more and more water,it flows along the sheet to accumulate on the lowest part. Finally, water falls down into the container directly under the middle stone. Thus, water is collected successfully through evaporation from green plants。

Part1范文(每个问题两个回答)1.Do you like to have flowers in your home? [Why/Why not?]Yes, I do. I love to have flowers in my home, because flowers are very good decorations at home. Just imagine, when you walk into your own home from one day’s tiring work, how comforting it is to see flowers in every corner of the house. It’s soothing and relaxing. Not at all. Look, I’m allergic to pollen. Flowers and their pollen just irritate my skin and give me runny nose and eyes. So I must avoid flowers at all times I can, not to mention my own home.2. Where would you go to buy flowers? [Why?]There are many places I can choose from. I can go to a small florist on the street if I need the flowers properly wrapped and ribboned. I can also go to a suburban flower market if I want to buy in bulk quantity and save some cash. Besides all these, I can also buy flowers on the Internet. The best thing about buying things on the Internet is that you don’t have to worry about the open time or close time of online shops, which are often run 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), so that you can place your order anywhere anytime.Well, I would only go to the flower market near my home. Luckily it’s not really far from where I live. It’s within walking distance, say 10 minutes. Plus there’s a large variety of flowers you can choose from. The price is always reasonable and you can still bargain about it. So why bother going to some distant, price gouging florist’s?3. On what occasions would you give someone flowers?Well, I’ve never given others flowers before, but there are many occasions when people give flowers, like birthday, wedding, even funeral. Besides that, boys would also give flowers, especially rose, to their girls when they are in love.I would give flowers to my friends, relatives and many others when I visit their homes. You see, it’s not really polite to visit one person’s home empty-handed according to Chinese tradition. So people often bring along some small gifts when they drop by. Well, in my case, I would choose flowers, which according to my experiences are not at all stereotypic, but rather often quite pleasing to my hosts.4. Are flowers important in your culture? [Why/Why not?]Flowers often bear great importance in many cultures. So do they in Chinese culture. In the past, flowers were believed to have spirits, who can bring happiness and pleasure to the devout. Nowadays, though their superstitious values have already faded away, flowers have taken on new meanings to represent virtues. While orchid represents grace and purity, peony represents nobleness and prosperity, and wintersweet perseverance. And people often use them to express their feelings.Well, generally yes, but with a great deal of difference to different people. Some people may love flowers so much that they see flowers as their life; while there’re also many others who are totally nonchalant. To them, flowers are no more than a bunch of lifeless plants. Describe a meeting you remember going to at work, college or school.Wow, this is pretty difficult for me, because I’ve had so many meetings. And my job is virtually about meeting people and deciding whether I should recruit them for my company. Yes, you guessed it. I’m an HR manager. Let me just tell you about the latest meeting or interview I had a couple of days ago. I was recruiting a junior staff for the secretarial department. A fresh college graduate came to the interview. I first looked at his resume and asked him some basic questions, which he seemed to have responded quite well. But when I asked him about his long-term career plan, he fumbled in a shilly-shally manner. So I thought to myself“well, our company may not need a person like this”and I told him“I’m sorry”. Apparently he’s sorry too. Anyway, this maynot be a very memorable meeting, but it is the latest one I had.Part3范文(每个问题两个回答)1.What are the different types of meeting that people often go to?答案1:There are many different types of meetings that are categorized by contents of discussion or attendants or venue, etc. But people go to work meetings most often, where people meet to discuss their work and that often produce a product or intangible result such as a decision.答案2:As far as I know, there are six types of meetings by function: problem- solving, decision- making, planning, feedforward (which is about status reporting or presenting new information), feedback, about reacting and evaluating, and finally combination meetings.2. Some people say that no- one likes to go to meetings — what do you think?答案1: I can’ t agree more. Personally I never liked going to meetings. They are long, and boring, full of red- tapes. I always wonder when people would learn not to waste time. Some meetings I attended are not productive at all, or even counterproductive. I don’ t like meetings.答案2:Please allow me to respectfully disagree. Though many people may not like to attend meetings, they’ re still important in business, work, study and life. First, people need communication and update of information. Second, exchange of ideas can produce creativity and innovation. Apparently, meetings can facilitate both.3. Why can it sometimes be important to go to meetings?答案1: Meetings are important because no one can be a lone ranger in today’ s society. Everyone is linked to each other in some way. And since the discrepancy of information and knowledge amongpeople is inevitable, it necessitates constant updates of information and exchange of ideas, all of which can be perfectly achieved through meetings.答案2: Like I said before, meetings are important in many aspects of our life. People need communication and update of information and exchange of ideas is also necessary to produce creativity and innovation. Meetings can facilitate both of them. That’ s why it’ s important to go to meetings sometimes. 4. Why do you think world leaders often have meetings together?4. Why do you think world leaders often have meetings together?答案1:One of the major purposes for world leaders to meet together is to build mutual trust and strengthen bilateral relationship. Apparently, growing international trade has increasingly entailed more and more international frictions. But a good mutual relationship can help to ease it up.答案2:Nowadays the world has becoming more globalized and countries closer than ever before. As a result, many international affairs can’ t be solved without collaborate efforts, which necessitates meetings at various levels, including that of world leaders.5. What possible difficulties might be involved in organizing meetings between world leaders?答案1:Indeed, it’ s difficult to organize a meeting at an international level especially when it concerns world leaders, who are not like any street boys. They are big shots with busy schedules and need high level of security, all of which have to be carefully considered. Plus a well- prepared agenda also is needed. Of course, no one wants to pay from the public purse for the world leaders to fly in and sit together just to chitchat.答案2:Apart from the difficulties concerning time, security and agenda, language is another problem, since no one can guarantee the world leaders understand all that’ s being discussed without proper translation. Sometimes there may be some mistranslation, which is really bad because this may lead to misunderstanding between world leaders which in turn might bring about conflicts and frictions between different countries.6. Do you think that meetings between international leaders will become more frequent in the future? Or will there be less need for world leaders to meet?答案1:I believe yes. I also believe international cooperation will become more common and meetings between international leaders more frequent, because this can help to establish mutual trust and reduce international conflicts and frictions.答案2: I’ m not sure about this, since I’ m not an expert on international politics. But one thing I’ m sure about is that the world is becoming smaller and country closer, therefore things need to be done to avoid any possible conflicts, be it world meetings or whatever. I just wish to live in a world of peace.。
8Test1Task2Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.正文:Not only did children be equipped with knowledge but they need to be taught the significance of being able members of our community. I this case, this is not the responsibility for parents only. There is a saying in China that parents can be the best teacher of children at times. Therefore, parents indeed have the commitment to bring up their children with proper guidance which is advantageous for them to be emotional mature. Additionally, the behavior of parents is likely to have a significant influence on children, children thrive in better-rounded domestic environment are easier to get on well with than those who grow up in the atmosphere which lacks the supervision from parents according to the psychological point of view. With the growth up of the children, schools become a place where children spend most of their day time on. In terms of this, schooling is an essential element to facilitate the progress of children’s wholesome personality. In other words, teach ers in school can help children to improve their interpersonal skills and any other various capabilities with a great deal of knowledge. Friendly relationships can be established by communicating with each other among children, which is the foundation of their future development in social occasions. But in my view, all of the social powers are indispensable tomake children better-rounded. Juvenile delinquency has been one of the major problems of the world. To put it simply, the effect on children from parents and schools is limited, which means that community is also a crucial factor which impacts the mental and physical development of children. To sum up, a interactive stage between society and either school or parents should be build by our country to make a appropriate surrounding for children.。

Located on one of the busiest streets, there are always lots of people come to eat here everyday. There are several reasons I like this restaurant. First, in terms of food, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes, which are sorted according to their origin. For example, if you want to eat Sichuan food, there will be a special menu and a cook who specializes in Sichuan cuisine. So are the other regional cuisines. I like this restaurant also because of its environment. Whenever you come to this restaurant, it is always clean and various decorations are always thoughtfully arranged in different places. Nonetheless, the service here is really excellent. All the waiters and waitresses are well-trained in manners and tricks like juggling plates or cutleries. Sometimes they even purposefully show it a bit before you. And finally when it comes to the price, it can’t be more reasonable. One more thing, I always come here to eat AAA. I think XXX is the only place in town that offers AAA, a dish from my hometown that I’ve always loved since I was young.剑8雅思口语Test2大作文范文(三)Speaking of a restaurant I enjoyed going to, I’d like to talk about Sawatdee Thai Restaurant. Today just about every neighborhood has a Thai restaurant to choose from, making it no easy task to select the best Thai food in Beijing. That doesn’t stop me from trying, though. Sawatdee first began in 1999 as the first Thai restaurant in downtown Beijing. It’s a beautiful warehouse- turned-restaurant, complete with a gold leaf ceiling and glass etchings of a Thai goddess. I personally enjoyed dinning here because I always find myself intrigued by the sweet, sour, bitter and salty taste combinations found in authentic Thai cooking. The food here is not only exotic to the tongue but also to the eye. I also like it here because no matter who you are or when you come in to eat, you are always treated with love, respect and peace.
How often do you watch television? [Why/Why not?]Well, quite often. Look, people call me couch potato, because I sit in couch, watch TV and eat potato chips. Watching TV is a big part in my life. It gives me a lot of fun and makes me enjoy my life. No, I seldom watch TV, because I believe watching TV is no different from slow suicide. It’s just a waste of my precious time. I must live very single minute to the fullest.2. Which television channel do you usually watch? [Why?]Like I said, I love watching TV programs, all kinds of them, so there is no particular channel I would fix on. Sometimes I just enjoy channel surfing for no reason.Well, I would only watch news channels. I believe they’re the only channels worth watching, because I can get updated of the latest happenings in China and around the world.3. Do you enjoy the advertisements on television? [Why/Why not?]No. I totally hate it. It makes me sick. Think about it, how could you like it when they insert ads in your favorite TV show? It’s totally unacceptable. Plus most of the ads either are misleading or appear to exaggerate the effects of their product. They just want to get money out of your pocket. They are mercenary profiteers. Anyway, I don’t like advertisements.Well, I’d like to say yes, because there are some ads that are truly artistic and with high aesthetic values, but the rest are just full of misleading and exaggerated information, even violent or sexually explicit contents to appeal to people’s eyes. So my final ve rdict is“no”.4. Do you think most programmes on television are good? [Why/Why not?]Well, I guess yes. Most TV programs in China are generally“good”, so to speak, since the TV and Radio Administrative Authority really does their job of“censoring”the unwan ted contents. So don’t worry. You would have to go overseas to watchthose“bad”TV programs, like CNN and other stuff.I’m not really sure, because I’ve deliberately refrained from watching TV for many years. But I trust most TV programs are good since the majority of people still love spending their prime time at night on watching TV.Part2范文问题:Describe a friend of your family you remember from your childhood.Mr. Zhang was quite an old friend of my family. Once served in the air force as a copilot of my father, he used to hang out with my family quite often. But as far as I remember, all that changed during the ten-year dark period of the Cultural Revolution, when Mr. Zhang was falsely accused and consequently discharged without honor from the air force. A fter much affliction, Zhang’s wife couldn’t take it anymore and killed herself, and since then he became stranger and stranger, not willing to talk to anyone until he finally died in loneliness. It’s quite a sad story and I remember it very well because I feel there is a strong need for the society to care for those who have been through those difficult years and hence traumatized, especially someone like Mr. Zhang. What do you think makes someone a good friend to a whole family?Wow, this is indeed difficult to answer. People would have a whole lot of different ideas when they look at it through their own perspectives. I can’t guarantee I can give asatisfying answer, but I guess a person would be surely considered as my family friend if he/she has helped my family when we are in great needs.People become friends for many different reasons. But what make someone a family friend often has something special, like helping to look after the old, extending a helping hand when the family is in great danger and stuffs like this.2. Do you think we meet different kinds of friend at different stages of our lives? In what ways are these types of friend different?I guess so. We all had playmates when we were young. Then when we grow up a little, we had teachers who can guide our life and study, buddies who can share the joy and sorrow of our heart. When we go to work, we had friends who could really help us in need, as well as fair weather friend. Anyway, this is just part of life. People change as you age, and your world will never be the same again.I don’t think so. No matter what stage you are at, you always have true friends and fair weather friends at the same time, but you wouldn’t be able to tell, not until the time of test, which is when yo u need some help. Yes, it proves the saying“a friend in need is a friend indeed”.3. How easy is it to make friends with people from a different age group? It’s generally believed to be true that the more age difference between two people, the more difficult it is for them to become friends, considering their discrepant ways of thinking and language patterns. The biggest problem might just lie in communication.I guess it shouldn’t be a big problem as long as they share the same interest, same hobby. There are countless numbers of examples in proof of this. Just like love transcends cultures, friendship also transcends ages.4. Do you think it is possible to be friends with someone if you never meet them in person?Well, there are examples where people become really good friends through the Internet and emails. Plus a lot of people have once had pen pals and kept that relationship for quite a long time. So I believe it’s totally possible.I never doubt the possibility of becoming friends over internet. I even call it digital friendship. But there are admittedly lots of dangers. So caution must be used when you want to try it out.5. Is this real friendship?Well, yes and no. Yes, because as long as their relationship is true and cordial, it is considered friendship. No, because it is still different from the conventional type.Like an old saying puts it“the benevolent see benevolence and the wise see wisdom”, different people have different judgment. Well, I would like not to judge, lest me myself is judged.6. What kind of influence can friends have on our lives?Friends influence our lives in many different ways. First, everyone needs friends. They cheer you up when you feel down; they share your joys and sorrows; they help you out of troubles; they point out your mistake when you don’t feel like admitting it. Anyway, friends are an indispensable part in life. You may not realize to what extent friends may influence you. Friends add meaning to our life, they enrich our experiences, bring joy, and share our problems. If there were a fourth need besides food, water, and shelter, we could say it would be the need for human interaction, closeness, and friendships.7. How important would you say it is to have friend from different cultures?I always feel blessed enough to have had the opportunity to interact with people from many different cultures. Though sometimes we struggle because I don’t know enough about their customs, religion, laws or culture and sometimes say or do ‘wrong’ things, it’s ever a good experience to learn new things about other cultures. Despite the differences, I love all them and they also love me —that’s what matters. It’s a good thing to have friends from different cultures in that they teach you to look at the world through a“bigger”perspective. It’s also a good opportunity to reflect upon ourselves and our own cultures, and helps to get rid of our cultural bias when we look at or do things.。

You have one minute to think about what you are going to say .You can make some notes to help you if you wish .
According to the passage, what are some of the reasons why participation in sports may decrease crime rates? The passage suggests several reasons for why participation in sports may decrease crime rates:1. Sports provide a legitimate avenue for individuals to channel their competitive tendencies and aggression, which may otherwise be directed towards criminal activities.2. Participation in sports can promote feelings of belonging and social inclusion, especially for at-risk youth, who may otherwise feel isolated or disconnected from their communities.3. Sports can also provide positive role models, as coaches and mentors can help instill values such as discipline, teamwork, and fair play.4. Engaging in physical activity can also help reduce stress andanxiety, which can in turn reduce the likelihood of engaging in criminal behavior as a coping mechanism.5. Finally, the passage notes that sports can help build stronger communities, as individuals who participate in organized sports may be more likely to engage in volunteer work or other forms of civic engagement.。
WRITING TASK 1You should spend about 20 minutes on this taskThe diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.Write at least 150 words.
The first diagram demonstrates the process and the equipment used to make cement, and the second one illustrates how cement and other materials are mixed to manufacture concrete for building purposes.
These four elements are introduced into a concrete mixer. These four elements are poured into a concrete mixer in which they are rotated so that concrete can be produced as a result.
连接词:then, after, afterwards,at the end of, as mentioned above, however等。
指代词:the first,these,this,which,where,the latter,the final,the last等。
用词这篇文章中除了题目和图中原有的单词以外,作者还使用了一些相关词汇:动词:introduce(放入),pass through(穿过),go into(进入),work with(采用),come out(出来),pack(包装),begin with(从……开始),obtain(获得)。
名词:material(材料),combination(组合),element(成分),step(步骤)。
The first step in the cement productios is to introduce limestone day. These materials pass through a crusher that produces a powder. The first step in the cement production is to put limestone and clay on two different conveyors. Then, these two types of materials are pressed so hard in the crusher that they are broken into powder.
WRITING TASK 2You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.Write about the following topic:Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective?Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.Write at least 250 words.
本题在题材上属于社会类话题,题型上是Agree/Disagree。
There is no doubt that是在开头段中用来摆事实的常用表达。
