Maltose Assay KitCatalog Number MAK019Storage Temperature –20 ︒CTECHNICAL BULLETINProduct DescriptionMaltose is a disaccharide containing two glucose molecules with an α(1→4) glycosidic linkage. Maltose can be derived from starch in food through the action of amylase. Maltose can be found in many food products, including beer, cereals, and pasta. The Maltose Assay kit provides a simple and direct procedure for measuring maltose in a variety of samples, including serum, plasma, food, or growth media. In this kit, maltose is converted to two glucose units via α-D-Glucosidase. Glucose is further oxidized, resulting in a colorimetric (570 nm)/fluorometric(λex = 535/λem = 587 nm) product, proportional to the maltose present.ComponentsThe kit is sufficient for 100 assays in 96 well plates. Use within 2 months ofreconstitution.Storage/StabilityThe kit is shipped on wet ice and storage at –20 ︒C, protected from light, is recommended.2ProcedureAll samples and standards should be run in duplicate. Maltose Standards for Colorimetric DetectionDilute 5 μL of the 100 nmole/μL Maltose Standard with 995 μL of the Maltose Assay Buffer to prepare a0.5 nmole/μL standard solution. Add 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 μL of the 0.5 nmole/μL standard solution into a96 well plate, generating 0 (blank), 1, 2, 3, 4, and5 nmole/well standards. Add Maltose Assay Buffer to each well to bring the volume to 50 μL.Maltose Standards for Fluorometric Detection Prepare a 0.5 nmole/μL solution as for the colorimetric assay. Dilute 20 μL of the 0.5 nmole/μL solution with 180 μL of the Maltose Assay Buffer to prepare a0.05 nmole/μL solution. Add 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 μL of the 0.05 nmole/μL standard solution into a 96 well plate, generating 0 (blank), 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and0.5 nmole/well standards. Add Maltose Assay Buffer to each well to bring the volume to 50 μL.Sample PreparationSamples may be assayed directly. Serum may diluted directly with Maltose Assay Buffer. Add 1 to 50 μl of sample to wells. Bring samples to a final volume of50 μL with Maltose Assay Buffer.Note: For unknown samples, it is suggested to test several sample dilutions to ensure the readings are within the linear range of the standard curve. Assay Reaction1. Add 2 μL of α-D-Glucosidase solution to eachsample and standard well, mixing well to convertmaltose to glucose.Note: Glucose in the samples can generate background in the maltose assay. However, the glucose background can be easily eliminated by doing a glucose background control in the absence ofα-D-Glucosidase. If glucose is present in the samples, prepare two wells for each sample. Add 2 μL ofα-D-Glucosidase into one well, and add 2 μL of Maltose Assay Buffer into the other well as the glucose background control.2. Set up Reaction Mixes according to the scheme inTable 1. 50 μL of the appropriate Reaction Mix isrequired for each reaction (well).Table 1.Reaction MixesNote: In the fluorometric Assay, using 0.4Probe for each reaction will significantly decrease fluorescence background, and thus increase fluorescence signal/noise ratio.3. Add 50 μL of the appropriate Reaction Mix to eachof the wells. Mix well using a horizontal shaker orby pipetting, and incubate the reaction for60 minutes at 37 ︒C. Protect the plate from lightduring the incubation.4. For colorimetric assays, measure the absorbanceat 570 nm (A570). For fluorometric assays, measure fluorescence intensity (λex = 535/λem = 587 nm).3 ResultsCalculationsThe background for either assay is the value obtained for the 0 (blank) maltose standard. Correct for the background by subtracting the blank value from all readings. Background values can be significant and must be subtracted from all readings. Correct for glucose background by subtracting the glucose background measurement from maltose samples. Use the values obtained from the appropriate maltose standards to plot a standard curve. The amount of maltose present in the samples may be determined from the standard curve.Note: A new standard curve must be set up each time the assay is run. MEL9Tape Replay MachineCongratulations on purchasing the Electro-Harmonix MEL9 Tape Replay Machine. Now any electric guitar player can have access to nine magically quirky, dark and unique Mellotron® sounds. No more extra devices such as special and cumbersome 13-pin MIDI pickups! In addition to electric guitar, you can trigger the MEL9 with any instrument that produces an electrical output, such as a keyboard or a bass, down to 55 Hz or A1.The polyphonic MEL9 has superior tracking; you can create single notes or chords with ease. The MEL9 will follow guitar bends, dive bombs, slurs, and any other guitar expression/performance techniques you can throw at it!WARNING: Your MEL9 comes equipped with an Electro-Harmonix 9.6DC-200BI power supply (same as used by Boss® & Ibanez®: 9.6 Volts DC 200mA). The MEL9 requires 100mA at 9VDC with a center negative plug. Using the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity may damage your MEL9 and void the warranty.GETTING STARTEDConnect the supplied power adapter to the 9V power jack. Plug your instrument into the INPUT jack; connect your amp to the EFFECT OUTPUT jack. Set the DRY knob to minimum (fully counterclockwise) and set the other top row knobs to 12 o’clock. Select a preset (“ORCHESTRA” is a good starting point) and step on the footswitch to turn on the LED. Play your instrument and adjust controls to your liking.Mellotron is a registered trademark of David Kean, M. Resch AB and Markus Resch.CONTROLSDRY VOL KNOBThe DRY VOL knob controls the volume of the untreated instrument level on the EFFECT OUTPUT jack.EFFECT VOL KNOBThe EFFECT VOL knob controls the overall volume of the selected preset at the EFFECT OUTPUT jack.ATTACK KNOBUse the ATTACK knob to set the volume swell speed, or the speed at which the effect begins to be heard. Turn the ATTACK knob down (fully counterclockwise) for a fast attack with minimum swell. Turn the knob up to increase the amount of swell and to have the notes fade in more gradually.NOTE: When using the BRASS preset, the ATTACK knob adjusts the speed of a filter sweep. This adjustment controls how quickly the BRASS sound gets bright. SUSTAIN KNOBThe SUSTAIN knob controls the amount of time a sound continues to play after you stop playing. When the SUSTAIN knob is turned down (fully counter-clockwise), the fadeout time is at its minimum setting. Turn the knob up to increase the fadeout time.NOTE: When using the BRASS preset, the SUSTAIN knob adjus ts the amount of “lip buzz”―characteristic of brass instruments such as trumpet―heard at the onset of new notes. “Lip buzz” is a subtle addition to the BRASS preset, and at times you may have difficulty hearing the impact on the sound produced by adjusting the SUSTAIN knob.PRESET KNOBTurn the white numbered knob to select a preset sound.DRY OUTPUT JACKThe DRY OUTPUT jack outputs the signal present at the INPUT jack through a buffer circuit. In either EFFECT or BYPASS mode, the dry signal is always present at the DRY OUTPUT jack.EFFECT OUTPUT JACKThe EFFECT OUTPUT jack sends the mix set by the DRY and EFFECT volume controls.BYPASS FOOTSWITCHPress the BYPASS footswitch to toggle the MEL9 OUTPUT jack between buffered BYPASS and EFFECT mode. The status LED lights when you are in EFFECT mode.PRESET DESCRIPTIONS1.ORCHESTRA–This sound represents a full orchestra—including an octavebelow the normal guitar—and produces a gigantic, full sound.2.CELLO –This sound of a solo cello includes the cello’s natural vibrato.3.STRINGS–Presenting the sound of a small four-piece string section, includingnatural vibrato.4.FLUTES–This preset presents the classic solo flute sound heard on manyrecordings.5.CLARINET –This sound of a solo clarinet sounds great both as a solo (playedmonophonically) instrument and when playing chords.6.SAXOPHONE – This funky vintage British solo saxophone sound is perfect forplaying Beatles-like rock lines. It blends great with an overdriven guitar.7.BRASS –This preset is a trumpet-like sound, and when playing chords itproduces a great brass section sound. As noted earlier, the ATTACK and SUSTAIN knobs work differently for this preset than for other presets. The ATTACK knob controls a filter sweep for brass synthesizer sounds and the SUSTAIN knob adds the “lip buzz” characteristic of trumpet/brass sounds.8.LOW CHOIR –This sound is a full low-voiced choir made up of many voices.9.HIGH CHOIR –This sound is a higher-voiced choir made up of many voices.NOTES AND SPECIFICATIONS•Buffered bypass•Input impedance: 1MΩ•Output impedance (for both output jacks): 500Ω•Current draw: 100mATIPS ON GETTING OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE FROM THE MEL91.The MEL9 is generally best used as the first pedal in an effects chain. Placemodulation, delay, and reverb effects after the MEL9. The unit will not perform well if placed in the effects loop of a guitar amp.2.If a guitar’s pickup has a weak output, performance can be improved by puttinga clean boost or a compressor in front of the MEL9. Avoid placing a distortion oroverdrive in front of the MEL9. Placing distortion or overdrive in front of theMEL9 will muddy up the input signal and cause the tracking to be unstable. If you want to add overdrive or distortion, place it after the MEL9.3.The MEL9 tracking response is limited depending on the preset chosen, and thetype of electronic instrument you use to trigger the effect. On guitar, the usable range for these sounds goes up to about the 23rd fret on the high-E for some presets, and to only the 16th fret for others. On bass guitar, the MEL9 tracks only about as low as the open A-string.4.The MEL9 imitates Mellotron® sounds, so the MEL9 will only sound as real forany of the nine instruments as the Mellotron® does. For example, the FLUTEpreset is the same as the Mellotron’s flute which is a recording of a real flute.5.Pay attention to performance gestures (vibrato, trills, slides, and so on) and thesettings for ATTACK and SUSTAIN. If you want to mimic a Mellotron®, playpianistically with as little guitar inflection as possible. If you want to simulate an actual sound such as a cello, adapt your performance gestures to help mimic the actual sound. Otherwise, let your creativity guide your approach to playing the MEL9. And that means you should feel free to go wild by combining atypicalperformance techniques with traditional sounds. So what if an actual clarinetdoes not let you bend a note up a whole tone or more? Now you can go for it!- WARRANTY INFORMATION -Please register online at /product-registration or complete and return the enclosed warranty card within 10 days of purchase.
※(Spool Free)
Series 910DualTrans™ MicroPirani/AbsolutePiezo TransducerDesigned specifically for wide-range pressure measurement applications, the Series 910Transducer combines Piezo and MicroPirani™ sensor technologies. The combined outputprovides significantly higher accuracy, stability, repeatability and a faster response time thanconventional thermal conductivity gauges. The 910 combines two pressure measurement technologies to provide superior performanceand functionality. The 910 provides gas independent absolute pressure measurement from 11 to1500 Torr with increased accuracy over thermal conductivity sensors.Unlike traditional Pirani gauges, the sensor element in the MicroPirani is made of a one millimetersquare silicon chip, allowing the measurements to be made in a very small volume. As a result ofTorr, two decades below astandard Pirani sensor. The sensor design minimizes the effects of convection, subsequently theApplicationsThe 910 Transducer allows the user tocombine multiple gauges into a single, compact package. This not only savescost, but can simplify the operation anddesign of their system. The wide rangemeasurement capability and availableon-board relays allow for a high level offunctionality in an extremely small footprint. The 910 can be used on any vacuumchamber requiring absolute pressuremeasurement and switching capabilities. The Piezo is an absolute pressure sensor, providing a direct pressure reading, allowing the measurement to be gas independent. The Piezo sensor measures from less than 1 Torr to 1500 Torr. The 910 has RS232 or RS485 digital communication interface for setup of transducer parameters and to provide real time pressure measurement. The 910 also has an analog pressure output of 1VDC/decade that can be interfaced to external analog equipment forpressure readout or control. Other analog outputs and curves can be selected via the digital user interface. The 910 has up to three mechanical relays which can be used for process control, for example interlocking isolation valves and vacuum pumps. Each set point can be assigned either to the piezo measurement or the combined absolute MicroPirani/Piezo measurement. The 910 compact design significantly reduces the amount of space occupied by a vacuum gauge. This is particularly appealing to systemdesigners and allows for a more compact vacuum system.Dimensional DrawingNote: Unless otherwise specified, dimensions are nominal values in inches (mm referenced).PinoutsThree (3) set point relays and dual AoutStandard Analog OutputPressure vs VoltageSpecificationsSensor Type 1 MicroPirani (MEMS Thermal Conductivity) Type 2Piezo absolute (MEMS diaphragm)Measuring Range Absolute 1.0 x 10-5 Torr to 1500 Torr Set Point Range Absolute 5.0 x 10-4 Torr to 1500 TorrCalibration Gas Air, Argon, Helium, Nitrogen, H 2, H 2O vapor, CO 2, Xenon, NeonGas independent above 11 Torr Operating Temperature Range 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F)Maximum Bakeout Temperature 85°C (185°F), non-operating Digital CommunicationRS485/RS232 (4800 to 230400 Baud) Controls Zero adjust, span adjust, analog output, pressure units, baud rate, address, factory default, set point functions: value, hysteresis, direction, enable, transducer status, switch, LED test Status Pressure reading, units, set point, operating time, transducer temperature, user tag, model, device type, serial number, firmware and hardware versions, part number, manufacturer Analog Output (Absolute Pressure) 1 to 9.2 VDC, 1 VDC/decade, 100W maximum output impedance The 910 has a standard 15 pin HD SUBD connector and an analog output voltage pressure signal of 1VDC/decade. Description
The MAAMML0019 is a high reliability X → Ka band tripler. This weight and space saving design has been realised by utilising the latest advances in housing materials. The unit consists of a tripler followed by a Ka band amplifier and band pass filter (BPF.) The amplifier restores output signal strength. The BPF reduces out of band products.
Additionally, built-in circuitry ensures that power supply sequencing can be any order, for both power-up and power-down.
Alternative frequency ranges, gain, output powers and supply rail configurations are available. The MAAMML0019 is also available as a space qualified version. Please contact the factory for details.
