Step I Greeting and warming-up
T: Good morning, boys and girls!
Ss: Good morning, Ms. Huang!
T: What day is it today?
Ss: It is Friday.
T: Yeah. Do you like Friday?
Ss: Sure.
T: Why?
Ss: Because the next day is Saturday.
T: That’s for sure. I like it, too. We can relax on weekends. And how is the weather today?
Ss: It’s sunny and warm.
T: Right. It’s so nice. Now let’s begin to enjoy our class at this beautiful moment. OK?
Ss: OK!
Step II Revision
1.Ask students to describes a teacher or a classmate, and others listen and guess who he/she is.
2.Let Ss show their homework in groups and learn description words about people’s appearance from each other.
Step III Presentation
Look at the picture and the information card on the screen.Learn some new words: actor, actress, pretty, handsome,person.

What does she look like?
句中的does 是助动词,无实际意义,用来构成疑问句。
主语是第三人称单数用does ,主语为复数或you 时用do .
E.g. 句型转换
I am a little heavy.(对划线部分提问)What____you _____ ________?
(2) How to describe one's appearance
Be 型:描述身高、体重等形体特征和形象时用be动词。
结构:“主语+be +adj. (形容词)或主语+be +of + medium +height / build等名词”。
have/has型:表示留着何种发型等用have/has。
“主语+have/has + adj.(形容词)+ hair。
E.g. 她留着长的直发. She ____ _____ _____ hair.
wear型:表示穿着、戴着眼镜(帽子)用wear。
E.g. 他戴着眼镜。
He _____ _______.
(3) 想一想
Is David tall or short? Does Sally have long or short hair?
应怎样回答?把可能的回答写下来。
选择疑问句:提出两种或两种以上的情况,要求对方选择一种。
结构:一般疑问句+or+选项。
朗读时or 前面部分读升调,后面部分读降调,即前升后降。
or 连接两个并列成分,可以是状语、宾语、表语、谓语或两个分句。
回答时不能用Yes 或NO, 可以用陈述句或者简略回答。
E.g. -Is your good friend in Class Two or in Class Three?
-He is in Class Two.
-Do you like swimming or boating?
-I like swimming.
My father is a teacher.(用doctor将其改为选择疑问句)

Step V Practice(3a, 3b)
1.Work on 3a Write these words in the correct box.

先是让所有学生明白题目意思。
然后齐读所给的单词和词组。
然后就是方法指导。
2.Work on 3b Circle the correct words to complete the conversation.
先是让所有学生明白题目要求。
然后就是方法指导,标注出每句话中的key words,根据题眼判断属于Be型还是have/has型,再判断用原形还是三单形式。
给学生7分钟完成,必要时可以组内讨论。
In the end, check the answers with the class.
Step VI Group work
Tell Ss to read the questions first in 3c. Make sure they know the meaning of the questions.
1. What does your favorite actor or actress look like?
2. What does your favorite teacher look like?
(Give examples)
Show a photo of a famous star and describe about the height/build/hair/ wearing/job.
Then let Ss Work in groups.
Try to make a report.
3.They can ask and answer like this:
A: What does your favorite actor look like?
B: He’s tall and he has short hair.
4.Report like this: Jim’s favorite actor is …. He is tall. He has short hair. He often wears glasses. He likes .…
Step VII Homework
1.Review the grammar focus after class.
2.Do you want to have a new look? What do you look like? Write a short passage about your new look.。
