Unit 9 What does he look like? (Period 2)Section A (Grammar Focus-3d)教材分析本单元话题是“外貌”(Physical appearance)。
本节课是本单元的第二节课,是一节语法课,需要学生在练习的过程中掌握描述性形容词和选择疑问句的用法。
教学目标学完这一课,学生能够掌握:1.语法:描述性形容词和选择疑问句;2.交际功能:使用描述性形容词和选择疑问句谈论人物外貌。
教学重点描述性形容词和选择疑问句。
教学难点描述人物外貌的句式结构和选择疑问句的结构及答语。
教学过程新课导入教师用上节课的图片让学生对图中人物的外貌进行谈论,也可以用选择疑问句进行提问,让学生回答。
利用上节课所学的描述性形容词和选择疑问句进行问答,用“以旧带新”的方法导入新课,激发学生学习的兴趣。
注意:可以使用本班学生的一些照片,利用熟悉的人物进行问答,更贴近学生的生活。
新知探究Step 1: Pre-learning【教师活动】让学生观察并朗读Grammar Focus中的句子,在语境中感受如何用特殊疑问句或选择疑问句来问答人物的外貌。
【学生活动】观察Grammar Focus中的句子,对本单元的重点语法有初步的认识。
组内讨论对Grammar Focus中的句子存在的疑问,完成学习任务单中的课堂学习任务一的第1题。
Step 2: While-learning【教师活动】让学生回顾2a中的对话,同时思考问题“描述人物外貌时,is与have或has的用法有什么区别?”,并适当举例。
(1)be是系动词,后常接表示人物长相的形容词,如高、矮、胖、瘦、中等身高等;注意:表示“中等身高”时,要用“be of”,不能用have/has,也不能只用be动词,即be of medium height。
(2)have是实义动词,意思是“长着,留着”,常在句中作谓语,后接具体的表示五官发型胡须的名词;(3)has为have的第三人称单数形式。

【归纳】person意为“人”,侧重指“”。
它常用于数目不太大,而且数目比较精确的场合。
people意为“人们”,着重指全体,是集合名词。
