In ancient times, Cao Cao displayed hisremarkable talent for strategy and tactics during the debate at Wan. His arguments were mesmerizing, as if they were divine revelations; his strategies were as precise as cutting jade. Cao Cao employed his knowledge of military tactics, expounding upon the principles of warfare and the essence of battle. He analyzed the situation between the enemy and us, distinguishing between truth and falsehood, victoryand defeat. Within his words, there was profound contemplation and careful deliberation, relying on wisdom and insight. He dissected the situation, intricately weaving his ideas, strategically aimingfor victory.Cao Cao spoke, saying, "Long ago, the people of Wu were trapped at Zigui, but they once dreamt of acquiring Yizhou. Kongming emerged from the mountain cave, binding Sun Zhu of Wu. The ruler of Wu regretted his mistake and used this story as an analogy. Now,let us consider the battlefield where you desire to engage in battle. The terrain is precarious, and furthermore, we have a strategist offering his counsel. It is doubtful whether the enemy, positioned in a superior location, will assist us. Hence, it isfitting for me to present a stratagem to the king, using your residual prestige and recounting past events, in order to lure the enemy into a deeper trap."Cao Cao carefully chose his words, using past events as examples to elucidate his strategic thinking to the ruler of Wu. He argued that the people of Wu once gained Yizhou through the counsel of a strategist, and the story of binding Sun Zhu became an eternal regret for the ruler of Wu. He pointed out that the current battlefield was treacherous, and by employing the strategy proposed by the strategist, they could entice the enemy to advance into their territory. By utilizing the king's lingering prestige and narrating past events, they would ultimately achieve the goal of luring the enemy deeper into their trap.Cao Cao continued his plan, saying, "The general can feign surrender to the enemy, privately expressing submission. As long as the enemy falls for this ruse, their vigilance will naturally wane. Then, under the cover of darkness, our army can silently penetrate the enemy camp and launch a surprise attack on the enemy's commander, catching them off guard and sending theminto disarray. When the enemy's commander can nolonger resist, it will undoubtedly provoke internal strife, allowing us to seize the opportunity to escape with our lives. Afterwards, all we need to do isintercept the enemy's supply lines, causing their army to fall into disarray, while we maintain a strong offensive. In this way, we will surely achieveultimate victory!"Cao Cao meticulously planned his strategy, proposing that the general pretend to surrender to the enemy, weakening their defenses. Under the cover of darkness, they would launch a surprise attack on the enemy's commander, creating chaos. Once the enemy's forces were in disarray, they would intercept their supply lines, destabilizing their logistics support. Cao Cao believed that through such tactics, victory would ultimately be achieved.。
