1.电话用语中,询问对方用:Is that------- speaking?

回答用:This is -------- speaking.

2.arrive in / at = get to = reach 到达

当没说到达什么地方的时候,只能用arrive.

8.miss “思念,想念”,还可以表示“错过,未赶上”的意思。

9. some close friends 一些亲密的朋友close 在这里是形容词。

10. be different from 与---------不同反义词是:the same as 与--------相同

11. What does it feel like ? = What do you think of it ? = How do you like it ?

用以询问某人对某事的看法

Eg: What does the film feel like ?

feel like 还有“想要”的意思,后面的动词用v-ing的形式

7.hear sb. doing sth “听到某人正在做某事”,强调动作正在进行。

Eg: I often hear her sing next door, but now I hear her crying.

8.worry about = be worried about 担心

10.without a word “没有说一句话”,在本句中充当插入语

Having a best friend is great .You get to share your thoughts ,dreams, fun times, problems, successes and failures with someone who knows, understands and cares about you , and is around the same age as you.

For two people to become best friends, you have to really know and understand each other well. This can only happen over a long period of time. Not just a few days. If you are looking for a best friend, don’t be in a hurry to make a common friend into a best friend .Take your time and it will be worth it.

To be or to have a best friend, you should know these things:

*Work on building trust (信任) between the two of you.

宾语从句:复合句中用作宾语的从句叫做宾语从句

一、宾语从句的分类

根据不同的引导词,宾语从句可以分成三种类型:

1.当陈述句充当宾语从句时,用that引导,that无词义,在口语或非正式文体中常可

省略。如:

She told me (that)she had a big collection of dolls.

她告诉我她收集了一系列的娃娃。

He said (that) he wanted to stay at home.

他说他想呆在家里。

I am sure (that) he will succeed.

我确信他会成功。

2.当由一般疑问句充当宾语从句时,用if或whether引导,意为“是否”。如:

I wonder if she will come tomorrow.

我想知道她明天是否会来。

She is not sure whether Tom is right or not .

她不确定Tom是否正确。

He asked me whether (if) I could help him.

他问我是否能帮他。

*引导词if和whether的区别,参考unit 1 的要点解说。

3. 当特殊疑问句充当宾语从句时,只需要用原来的疑问词引导。如:

Mary asked why they didn’t come on time.

Mary 问为什么他们没按时到达。

Sam wanted to know who would play the game.

Sam 想知道谁会玩那游戏。

He asked whose handwriting was the best.

他问谁的书法是最好的。

宾语从句的时态要和主句的时态相互呼应。

主句是现在时或者将来时态时,从句可用任何需要的时态;主句是过去时态时,从句要用表示过去的相应时态。如果从句表达的是客观规律或真理时,则用一般现在时。如:I can’t remember why I was late for the meeting last night .

我不记得为什么我昨晚开会迟到。

We knew that he could make friends with many people.

我们知道他可以和很多人交朋友。

He asked if you had written to Peter.
