Last year, however, it came into use, 只有c. came into use recently 比较接近课文的实际内容,而其他3个选择都不符课文内容。 2. d根据课文第8行…but I am determined to stay here, 只有d. has refused to leave his house 与课文内容相符,其他3个选择都与事实不符。 Passing planes can be heard night and day 的含义相同,只是语态不同。而其他3个选择a. can heard, b. can to hear, d. can be heard 都不符合语法,在意思上都讲不通。 It couldn't be used then 意思最接近。 Over a hundred people must have been driven away 中的must 表示说话人的一种主观推测。b. I think(我想,我认为) 表示推测,所以应该选a. I am one of the few people left,因为few(少数几个)同some(一些)意思比较接近, a. are none left(一个没剩)不等于the few.b. is one left(剩下一个)也不等于the few;d. are a lot left(剩下很多)与the few 意思相差悬殊.

Lesson 60

Lesson 60 The future 【New words and expressions】future n. (事物间的)关系,关联(不可数) I know little about the relation of/between time and space. Is there any relation between the hot snake and the forest fire? ②n. (国家、人民等之间的)关系,往来(可数) Friendly relations have been developed between the two cities. They have broken relations with that firm. ③n. 亲戚,亲属(可数) A near relation of yours is coming to see you. 【Text】 At a village fair, I decided to visit a fortune-teller called Madam Bellinsky. I went into her tent and she told me to sit down. After I had given her some money, she looked into a crystal ball and said: 'A relation of yours is coming to see you. She will be arriving this evening and intends to stay for a few days. The moment you leave this tent, you will get a big surprise. A woman you know well will rush towards you. She will speak to you and then she will lead you away from this place. That is all.' As soon as I went outside, I forgot all about Madam Bellinsky because my wife hurried towards me. 'Where have you been hiding?' she asked impatiently. 'Your sister will be here in less than an hour and we must be at the station to meet her. We are late already.' As she walked away, I followed her out of the fair. 1、A relation of yours is coming to see you. a relation of yours 2、The moment you leave this tent, you will get a big surprise. the moment = as soon as 一…… He borrowed some money from me. That’s all. 4、As soon as I went outside, I forgot all about Madam Bellinsky because my wife hurried towards me. All I can remember is her name. hurry towards sb. 5、Your sister will be here in less than an hour and we must be at the station to meet her. must be表示用现在时态指将来的状况,这句话也可变成: We must go to the station to meet her. arrive, come,go,leave He’s arriving this evening.

Everybody admires him for his great sense of humour 能够判断只有d. he is an amusing person (他是一个有 趣的人)是他深受大家欢迎的原因。 2. b 根据课文第8-11行,只有b. everyone had been laughing at Jeremy's stories, not at Jeremy 是课文所暗示的情况,珍妮没有意识到“每个人都在笑他父亲讲 的故事,而不是在嘲笑他父亲本人”。 3. a 只有a. he's got 符合题目意思。 he's got = he has got = he has ,所以选a. has got = has 表示“有”的意思。 4. a b. Apart (adv. Unless (conj. 都有with the exception of (除……

其他3个选择 a. is loving, c. has been loving, d. was loving 时态都不对。 a. to make, b. for making, c. in make都不合乎语法。 a. little (没有多少),b. somehow (不知怎么地,以某种方式);c. enough (充足) 和d. somewhat (一点,几分)4个选择中,只有 d. 与 a little 意思相同,所以选d. 8. a a. think highly of (看得起,高看); b. laugh at (嘲笑); c. estimate (评定,估计); d. esteem (尊敬,尊重)中只有a. 9. c a. lastly(最后), b. at last(最后,最终), c. lately(最近), d. at least(至少)4个词中只有c.

After I had given her some money, she looked into a crystal ball and said, 能够看出只有b. he paid her (他付给她钱)与课文的实际内容相符,其他3个选择都与课文的实际情况不符。 3. c 只有c. will be coming 同前一句中的is coming 时态相符,因为现在实行时 is coming 也能够表示将要发生的事情,所以选c. 4. b 该句缺少谓语动词,需要选出一个与前一句中的intends(想要,计划)意义相同的词.a. is about(正要,马上就), b. plans(计划), c. is due(应到达的,预期的), d. hopes(希望)这4个选择中只有b. a. will leave 和 d. is leaving 都不是一般现在时,所以能够排除;b. leave 和c. leaves 都是一般现在时,

6. b 只有b. will be surprised (会感到惊讶)同前一句的will get a surprise 含义相同,所以b. a. will surprise 不合乎语法,因为surprise 是及物动词,后面应该有宾语,surprise 常 用被动语态,表示感到惊讶;c. surprise 也不合乎语法;d. will be surprising 意义上不准确,be surprising 表示“令人惊奇的”,与 前一句意思不符。 b. had I been 是 疑问句语序;c. had been I 语法错误;d. had I being 也不合乎语法;只有a. I had been 是准确的陈述句语序,所以应该选a. a. made up (虚构,化妆);b. made up my mind (决定,下决心);c. minded (照料,介意);d. cared (挂念,关系,喜欢)中,只有b. a. glass (玻璃);b. mental (金属);c. wood (木材);d. plastic (塑料)这4种材料中,只有a.
