传统建筑研究 传统的本质(下) ——中国传统建筑的十三个特点 缪朴 [编者按]本文上篇刊登于《建筑师》36期。 7．接合而非转化(图19) 中国传统建筑的形式处理中隐藏着这样一条基本原则、当两个本质上不同的部分相遇时，这两个部分通常根据它们的不同本质而被赋予不同的形式和材料，并被肩并肩地排列在一起，保持着各自的特色。在它们之间存在着一条明确的“接缝”。而在其它一些建筑体系中，不同的部分经常被加以转化，使其最后统一在一种中性的材料及形式之中。中国传统建筑的这个特点使它非常接近NORBERG—SCHULZ所描述的“古典建筑”，每个部件都具有一个鲜明的“个性”和清晰可辨的形态。整个环境呈现着一种冷静明确的逻辑关系，表现出它是由一物加在另一物上面所形成的总和。⑽ 这种思想贯穿着整个环境的处理。本文在“正格与变格并存”，“人工与自然分离”，“室内的两套尺度”等段落中将要讨论这一思想在各个特定领域中的具体表现。在本节中，我们将着重讨论这一思想在建筑节点上的实例。 如果我们对一幢传统建筑认真地从屋脊看到房脚。我们会发现许多接缝和对比的关系。房子的几个主要组成部分都有其各自的材料及形式。瓦及灰泥构成的屋顶是由曲面构成的。墙体是以直线为主的木制梁柱及砖墙。基础是雕凿而成的石料。门窗上的金属拉手则呈现其特有的锻打而成的复杂形状。每两个部分相逢时往往处理成两个互相垂直的面，有时甚至还特别扩大其间的接缝。象柱子与砖墙相接处就有意做出一道沟槽，以强调柱子的圆形与砖墙的平面之不同(从功能上说也有助于木柱的防潮)。木柱落地时又有凸出的石柱础收头，以明确木柱与地面的关系。挑出的檐口在墙面上投下一道深深的阴影，显示了这是两个部件的交接。在绘画中描写的古代建筑还往往将房屋座落在柱子支撑的平台上，从而使房屋与地面之间也呈现一条“接缝”。 与这种将多种形式与材料拼合使用的方法不一样，欧洲的古典建筑把房屋的各个部分统一在一种材料(如大理石)之中。由于两个部件的色彩、质感及形式都一样，它们之间“接缝”的效果自然被大大削弱了。以后，即使是这样的“接缝”也逐渐转化为表层的装饰，与内在的构造不再发生关系(图20)。这样，整个建筑立面给人的印象是用同一种材料塑成的雕塑，而没有不同部件结合构成的感觉。在伊斯兰建筑中这一点表现得更为突出。整个建筑实体从头到脚都被包裹在一层薄薄的马赛克之中。马赛克的图案组合丝毫不反映内在各部件之间的关系。 在中国传统建筑的室内装修上也可以发现这种接合而非转化的思想。我们看不到象欧洲建筑中那种结构部件与装饰性的雕塑分不清，立体的雕塑又与平面的壁画分不清的效果。在一个中国的室内环境中，木梁架上的雕刻都是局部的，很少干扰人们对其构造逻辑的认识。壁画很少用，即使用了也非常强调其平面感及其与建筑各自为政的关系。传统的装饰经常会同时并用两种不同形式的图案。如抽象的几何纹及写实的人物山水(图21)。而两者之间通常总有一条明确的边框。这种在装饰上接合而非转化的现象我们可以在门心板，门楼砖刻，以及彩画中看到。 中国的传统园林以仿效自然的山水著

KEY WORDS Cultural anthropology,Architec-tural anthropology,Custom,Cultural pattern,Social structure 一什么是建筑人类学 文化人类学1早期着重研究原始人类社会的状况。随着各国文化人类学研究的不断深入,它已突破了原有的研究范畴,拓展到其他社会和自然科学领域,对其他学科产生了深刻的影响,建筑学便是其中之一。 建筑人类学就是将文化人类学的研究成果和方法应用于建筑学领域。即不仅研究建筑自身,还要研究建筑的社会文化背景。/建筑的问题必须从文化的角度去研究,因为建筑正是在文化的土壤中培养出来的;同时,作为文化发展的进程,并成为文化之有形和具体的表现。0[1]建筑的建造和使用离不开人类和人类的活动。因此,应当从人的角度,从文化进化的高度,来审视建筑的内在价值和意义所在。建筑人类学注重研究社会文化的各个方面,研究人类的习俗活动、宗教信仰、社会生活、美学观念及人 作者为同济大学建筑城规学院99级博士研究生 (上海,200092) 国家自然科学基金资助项目(59878035)与社会的关系。正是这些内容构成了建筑的社会文化背景,并可最终通过建筑的空间布局、外观形式、细部装饰等表露出来。美国学者摩尔根认为,要在同质一般的历史环境中理解特定的文化。他曾研究美洲土著人的房屋,发现风俗习惯、家庭生活方式,与一定的房屋的构成相适应。列维#斯特劳斯则指出社会组织、社会结构对文化现象在形式方面的影响。拉普卜特研究了大量的传统住屋,提出社会文化最终决定住屋的形式。这种/间接0研究,对传统建筑本质的探索产生了最根本、最直接的影响。在当代社会中,建筑人类学关注传统习俗文化的同时也强调对/现行习俗0的考察,因为,传统习俗和/现行习俗0都将直接关系到人类对建筑的使用,尤其是建筑空间对人的精神方面的满足。从而指导当代建筑设计,突破物质层面的/功能0要求,从习俗出发,创造与社会行为相对应的建筑空间。 在我国的传统建筑、建筑历史与理论及建筑创作等领域的研究中,也已体现出人类学思想方法的渗透。如陈志华先生提出/乡土建筑0和/乡土文化0研究,东南大学提出的/东方建筑比较研究0等,均强调文化研究的重要性。常青先生也曾著文讨论建筑人类学与当代建筑思潮的关系。本文将在此基础上,深入探讨文化人类学与建筑学的关系,并就/建筑人类学理论框架0提出简单构想。 二习俗与建筑 从狭义讲,文化人类学是研究习俗的科学。习俗,是流行于民间的风俗习惯,是长期形成的不易改变的生活方式、社会风尚等。本尼迪克特认为,生活世界中的人们很难保持质朴原始的眼光看待世界,而总要受到特定习俗和思考方式的制约,从而使万事万物对人类主体的特定文化习俗和历史积淀下形成的特殊文化体验具有对特定人类生活的指向性,它不单纯是形式功能等实用主义的元素。 林惠祥先生在5文化人类学6一书中,曾分析习俗与居住空间的关系,印第安人进入别人家的房屋,不能随便坐立,男女老幼都有特殊的行立坐卧的位置规定,形成这种风俗是由于早期印第安部落居住空间狭窄所致。四合院是我国北方传统住宅的典型,其左右对称、内外有别、尊卑有序的平面布局是受封建宗法制度影响,这样的空间限制了居住者的行为,直接影响居住习俗的形成:主人居于内院,仆人居于前院,正房为长辈起居处,厢房为晚辈起居处,反映了特有的文化观念。封建制度解体后,一家一户的四合院变为多户共居的杂院,人口的增长、都市的现代生活打破了四合院的传统形制,人们在院中搭建小屋争取更多的生活空间,完整对称的院落消失了,同时也造就了一种新的居住格局和邻里关系,形成了新的居住习俗。 63 筑199914
