[转载]《把你的英语用起来!》读书笔记

这本书其实整本看完就记住一个词足矣“透析”,方法记住一句话即可“看英文原著,每两页查一个生词,然后坚持下去”,基本其他的字数就是在解释和补充这一词一句。

本书关注的是如何提高英语水平,而不是应试,所以如果你是急于应试,可以先放放,等考完之后再慢慢补基础。

记得以前有个老师提到过,听说读写四项中,听和读是输入项,比较容易提高,短期可见明显效果;写和说是输出项,不是靠机经或者技巧就能迅速提高的。输出项的提高是随着你英语功底的增加逐步缓慢提升的。这个理论和本书作者提到的理论异曲同工。

作者认为,大量的英文原著的阅读可以潜移默化的影响大脑的记忆和思维模式,从量变引出质变,最终达到提高英文水平的效果。

而我们从小学习英文的方法,非泛读即精读,都不是有效阅读原著的方法。所以作者根据自己的经验和实践总结出了英语学习方法“透析法”。

具体解释透析法之前,首先要区分一下英语层级。“透析法”使用的目标人群是英语水平已经达到了一定的程度,可以着手阅读原著,而不是零基础开始,恨不得一页200个单词,有195个都不认识,省下5个是a, an, the, and...

打基础的学习材料要选播讲类,这种材料不仅有内容,还有解释说明,不仅内容生动有趣,还可以帮你掰开了揉碎了讲明白。

零基础的同学可以选择赖世雄的《美语从头学》,先打好基础。

中级的同学则可以从赖世雄的《赖世雄美语音标》开始学起。看书听CD,跟录音大声模仿,2-3周学完2-3遍。

第二阶段使用ESLPOD(English as a Second Language Podcast),共有800多期,涵盖了生活的各个方面。如果觉得期数过多,也可以选择ESLPOD出版售卖的六本教材(本人已经在淘宝和百度搜过,免费资源无数)。拿到资源后首先听音频,反复听,专心听,认真听;听完读教材,扫教材的生词难句和之前听不懂的地方;然后跟读,读到你可以不看教材跟原音一起,一气呵成的读完,到这种境界,这本教材就可以功成身退了。如果你还想步入巅峰,那就继续模仿发音,直到原音重现。

中高级阶段可以开始练习发音了,推荐教程《American Pronunciation Workshop》(优酷有全套)

本阶段听力也要开始进阶,教材和VOA一类的慢速英语就没必要再听了,基本重听只是为了增加自信。为了进一步提升,可以听原版的有声书(audiobook)。这对于中高级进阶绝对是个挑战,一定要坚持,要顽强的听,努力的听,使劲的听,直到有一天顿悟神功,你就华丽丽的全听懂了。

关于语法,作者强烈推荐了一本已经绝版的书《文法俱乐部》(旋元佑),我在淘宝也看到了,目前只有复印版有售,anyway,能看就行。作者对这本书赞誉有加,本人也追捧的速购了一本,看完发书评。

最后重磅出击,透析法大战英文原著!

经过了以上“摧残”过程,基本你的水平已经在中上等了,透析

法就像是武功心法中的打通任督二脉,让你所学融会贯通。

运用透析法之前,首先要选择原著。顾名思义就是外国人,母语是英语的人写的书。但不是所有的书都适合上手阅读的,老外的文学也有文言文,连人家自己都有看不明白的时候,所以咱们也要慎选,由易到难来阅读。

作者帮忙拉了十本书的单子,另外提供了一个测试词汇量的网站https://www.doczj.com/doc/9819003763.html,(美国学者做的网站,测出来的结果还是蛮准的,后面还有详细的报告)。

接下来就是重头戏“透析法”解读,该方法的核心操作是:每2页查1个生词(手机屏幕调到最大字的那种页面就别算一页了,咱何必自欺欺人),作者说的是16开左右的书,一摊开,左边一页,右边一页,这样的两页,只能查一个生词。

查什么词不限,查完记录下来,每天要坚持读40页,记录20个词,看完再睡。第二天睁眼起床就先复习一遍昨天的20个词汇,复习时间不要超过5分钟。一本书下来,你的词汇量就能增长100-200,而且这些词的语义,在句子中的使用方法你也都记住了。

以上方法有两个核心要点:一是坚持,坚持每天读40页,尤其是头七天;二是克制,克制手欠不能多查生词,尤其是头50页。

为什么选择小说呢,就是希望你能通过句子和上下文的内容去理解,而不是紧靠词典一个个的去查生词,而小说的情节紧凑,让你的坚持不枯燥,当你被情节吸引了,那些生词就不是阻力了。

以上十本书在一年内读完,你就基本出师了,接下来就可以为所欲为的去看原著了,比如《乔布斯自传》《经济学原理》《病理学》等等等等,但方法还是一个:透析,每2页查1个词。

学英语除了方法问题外,最大的阻力其实是自控问题,作者在书中节选了部分《自控力》中的内容,正好本人也在拜读《自控力》,所以这些方法会放在《自控力》的书评里,在此就不多做重复了。

解决了心理问题,作者还想的非常周到,提供了一些时间规划方面的解决方案,这方面本人感觉和作者真的是英雄所见略同,时间都是挤出来的,我们要善加利用碎片时间和业余时间,高效利用每天工

作和生活之外的那两三个小时。

用本人自己的体验举例:

每天4点起床,跑步半小时,洗漱等一小时(女孩臭美)6点之前吃完早饭处理完琐事开始看书。6点-9点,包括地铁中的一小时,一共有3小时读书或学习时间。晚上6点下班回家,9-10点睡觉。

本人已经有几年没看过电视了,一般大众的综艺或口水剧也不常看,记得曾经读过一篇报道,里面评价了靠电视学习知识和技能的效率相比之下是最低的,因为是被动接收信息,大脑一般不会主动去处理,所以学习效果很差。

尝试以上计划之前,本人曾经尝试过利用晚上7-10点这个时间段。但上了一天班已经很累,大脑极度疲劳,无论是注意力的集中程度还是反映速度都非常低效,学习效果很难保证。

对于学习时间,本书作者也建议将时间放在早上,书中还举了丹布朗和亦舒的例子,丹布朗每天4点起床,写作3小时到7点;亦舒每天也是4点起床,写作3小时,然后为丈夫和家人准备早餐。

针对这点,还想再补充一些,之前看过一本书是中岛孝志的《4点起床最养生和高效的时间管理》,其中提到,以中午12点作为分界线,4点起床,你的有效时间相当于其他人的两倍,12点之前有8小时,12点之后又是8小时,所以你每天比其他人多产出的那部分日积月累就会形成巨大的差距。

英语句子的核心组成部分——名词短语(noun phrase,简称NP)。从一开始就搞清楚名词短语的构造规则,对于今后的英语学习将是非常重要的。 一、名词短语the core element of a sentence 英语中,短语有很多类,比如动词短语(have been doing)、介词短语(for you)、名词短语(my best friend)等等。其中名词短语最为重要,它是英语造句中不可或缺的元素。 1、名词短语的功能 名词短语的简单定义:名词与它的修饰语一起即构成名词短语。先来看几个简单的例子: ①These red roses are for you . 译:这些红玫瑰是送给你的。 名词短语these red roses在句中充当主语。 ②I have three close friend . 译:我有三个要好的朋友。 名词短语three close friend在句中充当宾语。 ③He is my best friend . 译:他是我最好的朋友。 名词短语my best friend在句中充当表语。 ④There are some red roses on that small table .

After reading this outstanding book, I was shocked by Sara, a little girl who suffered such unimaginable pain and tortures, but still had an opposite attitude towards life. What impresses me most is that Sara put on her act of being a princess when she wore thin bottom shoes, wading in the street of London. From my point of view, her spirit of being so strong-minded when she was in hard times is worth admiring. Every girl can be a princess if she can do all I mentioned, no matter she is rich, beautiful or not. To speak truthfully, I cannot do as well as Sara. However, I will exert myself on being a princess mentally. The story of a little princess reminds me a book I read many years ago, called little women. Thestory of little women also impressed me and makes me think a lot. Little Women is a "coming of age" drama tracing the lives of four sisters: Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. During the American Civil War, the girls father is away serving as a minister to the troops.
