keep rich意思是―富有‖,从后文she was even

willing to work without pay.

37. A。从空后的that helped other businesses find jobs for old people.

42. D。从后文She began to write a newspaper column called―Sixty Plus‖,我们知道,她为国家杂志写人物故事是以前的

事。

43. A。联系上下文Old people like herself.

46. A。从空后的see the truth behind a problem我们得知,Anna Douglas用的是thinking abilities。

Say good things to them and about them.

的too little exercise, and violence从搭配上排除develops。

选taking part in,而participate后面需要加in。

而every day

后面要加when,this time―这次‖不合题意。

―产生了影响‖make a difference。

It speaks 36 than words. According to specialists, our bodies send out more 37 than we realize. In fact, non-verbal(非语言)communication takes up about 50% of what we really 38 . And body language is particularly 39 when we attempt to communicate across cultures. Indeed, what is called body language is so 40 a part of us that it's actually often unnoticed. And misunderstandings occur as a result of it. 41 , different societies treat the 42 between people differently. But whatever the situation, the best 54 is to obey the Golden Rule: treat others as you would like to be 55 .

Students are increasingly using laptops for note-taking because of speed and legibility. But the research has found laptop users are less able to remember and apply the concepts they have been taught. Researchers performed experiments that aimed to find out whether using a laptop increased th e tendency to make notes ”mindlessly” by taking down word for word what the professors said. In the first experiment, students were given either a laptop or pen and paper. They listened to the same lectures and were examined on their ability and to remember facts and on how well they understood concept. The researchers found that laptop users took twice as many notes as those wrote by hand. However, the type is performed worse at remembering and applying the concepts. Both groups scored similarly when it comes to memorizing facts. The researchers’ report said, “ While more notes are beneficial, if the notes are taken mindlessly, as is more likely the case on a laptop, the benefit disappears. In another experiment aimed at testing long-term memory, students took notes as before but were tested a week after the lecture. This time, the students who wrote notes by hand performed significantly better on the exam. These two experiments suggest that handwritten notes are not only better for immediate learning and understanding, but that they also lead to superior revision in the future.

(二)完形填空选项设置的几个特点 (2011年全国卷卷完形选项设置): In our discussion with people on how education can help them succeed in life, a woman remembered the first meeting of an introductory__36__course about 20 years ago. The professor __37__the lecture hall, placed upon his desk a large jar filled with dried beans(豆), and invited the students to _38_how many beans the jar contained. After __39__shouts of wildly wrong guesses the professor smiled a thin, dry smile, announced the __40__ answer, and went on saying, ”Y ou have just __41__an important lesson about

they have been taught. Researchers performed experiments that aimed to find out whether using a laptop increased the tendency to make notes "mindlessly" by taking down word for word what the professors said In the first experiment, students were given either a laptop or pen and paper .They listened to the same lectures and were told to use their usual note-taking skills. Thirty minutes after the talk , they were examined on their ability to remember facts and on how well they understood concepts. The researchers found that laptop users took twice as many notes as those who wrote by hand. However, the typists performed worse at remembering and applying the concepts. Both groups scored similarly when it came to memorizing facts. The researchers' report said, "While more notes are beneficial, if the notes are taken mindlessly, as is more likely the case on a laptop, the benefit disappears."
