So now, some have decided that the punishment should go not to the children, but to their parents. For many people today, reading is no longer relaxation. To keep up their work, they must read letter, reports, trade publications, not to mention newspapers and magazines: a never-ending flood of words. According to a new study, naughty schoolchildren may have what’s been called “the CEO gene(基因)” The unique gene could make them more likely to be about to lead a large company in the future.
Scientists say they have found a unique gene in children who often “mildly” break school rules. It is the same one that leads to leadership qualities found in successful CEOs around the
globe.
Psychologists from Kansas State University studied health data covering 13,000 adults. They discovered the influence of a special gene, DATI.
They found that in children, DATI leads to “mild” bad behavior such as skipping school, but not serious bad behavior such as committing a violent crime.
However, they also discovered that DATI provides positive leadership qualities in adults who often went on to become the heads of companies or lead departments within a company.
Psychologists believe those with DATI learn early on how to lead a group people.
Lee, the assistant professor behind the study, explained, “Mild rule-breaking is actually positively associated with the chance for you to become a leader when you grow up.”
But people with DATI “were also likely to control their own behavior to make positive changes,” Lee warned. “In fact, the gene can have both positive and negative effects on leadership.”
It largely depends on the environment the children grown up in, at home and at school, according to the study.
If the naughty children could have encouraging parents and the ability to work with others, they are more likely to go on to become leaders, the study concludes.
