I had a bad habit of skipping to the last pages of a book. I just wanted to see how it ended

36 I was still in the middle of it. This habit 37 first my mom, then my friends, and 38 even my own daughter. Often my 39 wouldn?t be limited j ust to the books I read but also to what others were 40 as well. I was watching a TV series one night when I took in one scene. A man was seeking his community votes, and people 16 wanted to know why they should give him their 17 . He took them to his house and on every 18 in his house was the word ―Faith‖pasted. People raised lots of 19 to find out why the word was pasted on his mirrors. He said, ―My dad often 20 me to believe that as long as you have 21 ,you should have faith. Every time you look into the mirror, you…re looking at yourself and see ?Fait h‘. ‖

The 22 I learned from this is simple—faith is a living thing and in the same way we ‘re all 23 given 24 hours a day and we‘re all given the same measure of faith. Faith keeps us going when things get 24 ! Why is some people‘s faith stronger than that of others? Exercise! If we choose to exercise our faith, it will 25 ; but if we choose not to, it remains weak. Some people might 26 that they don…t have faith, but we all practice faith every day even if we don…t 27 it was faith. Daily 28 , such as studying, investing or reaching for a dream, take faith.

Faith 29 hearing and doing. I made a decision yesterday—to 30 reading the newspaper full of too much sad and 31 news. Why? Because I 32 there was a drop of my mental state after reading the newspapers.

Faith, when it‘s put to 33 , becomes a beautiful thing, It lifts your mental state to a higher place that 34 you to raise yourself up and declare, ―Yes we can .‖So make the decision today to strengthen your faith by 35 it.

One of my fondest memories as a child is going by the river and sitting idly on the bank. There I would 16 the peace and quiet, watch the water rush 17 and listen to the singing of birds and the rustling of 18 in the trees. I would also watch the bamboo trees 19 under pressure from the wind and watch them 20 gracefully to their original position after the wind had 21 .

In my early childhood, my parents and teachers taught me to be persistent(执着)in every task I devoted myself to. I was 16 that persistence is the only way towards success. But a small 17 made me change my mind.

One day my two-year-old son, 18 at a dozen of “stood” color marker-pens, cheered excitedly, "Mummy, look! I did it” Afterwards, he collected some ball-pens, 19 to do the same. Hard though he tried, the ball-pens, just lay 20 .He turned to me for help. Noticing they had either sharp or round ends, I said 21 ,“Mummy can't help you.”To my surprise, he wouldn't listen and continued trying…I was dumbfounded by his persistence.

My son's behavior reminded me of George who was always 22 in his work and rarely talked to anyone. To him,23 , there was no such thing called weekends or holidays. Our boss praised 24 about him and 25 us to look up to him as a role model.

One day I met George. "Gonna work late again tonight?”

"Probably ca n?t leave till midnight.” he said.

"How many hours have you put in here each week, eighty or ninety?”

“ 26 ”

"Don't you have time to be with your family at all?”

He shook his head slowly and 27 a sigh. "It's not what I wanted. But I have worked on it for so long. It's much too 28 to even think about letting go.”

A year later I resigned. The 29 thing I heard about him was that his wife divorced him. Since then I've never seen him. But occasionally his aged 30 would come to my mind.

Until that day,31 knowing why the ball-pens couldn't stand up, the two-year-old had 32 the impossibility after many failures. He put aside all the ball-pens and kept only those water markers for his “game”. 33 , he already learned to let go of his previous 34 attempts.

In our daily life, many headaches can be avoided if we know how to 35 them and then decisively let go of them immediately.

If you studied pictures that ancient people left on rock walls and you tried to determine their meaning, you would not detect a deep interest in romance among the artists. 51 , you would see plenty of animals with people running after them. Researchers are studying whether love, a highly valued emotional state, can be 54 . They ask, what is love? Toothpaste companies want us to think attraction is all about clean teeth, but clean teeth go only so far. Scientists wonder how much the brain gets involved. You have probably heard that opposites attract but that 55 attract, too. One thing is certain: The truth about love is not yet set in stone. First Impression To help determine the 56 of attraction, researchers paired 164 college classmates and had them talk for 3, 6 or 10 minutes so they could get a sense of each other’ s individuality. Then students were asked to 57 what kind of relationship they were likely to build with their partners. After nine weeks, they reported what happened. As it turned out, their 58 judgments often held true. Students seemed to 59 at an early stage who would best fit into their lives. The 60 Knows Scientists have also turned to non humans to increase understanding of attraction. Many
