The Swedish Academy(瑞典皇家学院)that awards the Nobel Prize has apparently still been unable to contact Bob Dylan about his acceptance of the honor. On Thursday , Dylan gave a concert in Las Vegas and didn’t mention the fact that he had just won the world’s mos t honored literary award . He didn’t acknowledge it on Friday when he performed in Coachella, either. In a recent interview with The telegraph,he said that he’d “absolutely” attend the ceremony “ if it’s at all possible”, and he finally called the Academy to accept the prize though later he wrote a personal letter to the Academy, which said he would not receive the award in person at the December ceremony in Stockholm. But what would happen if Dylan had continued to screen the Academy’s calls?

Jean-Paul Sartre is the only known winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature to have declined the award voluntarily; he had written a letter to the committee in 1964 asking not to be considered at all, but these were the days before email, and the letter arrived when they had already decided to give it to him that year. Sartre believed every individual is responsible for creating a purpose for their life. By accepting the prize, Sartre would have to associate himself with the institution that honored him .” It is not the same thing if I sign Jean-Paul or if I sign Jean-Paul Sartre, Nobel Prize winner,” he complained.” A writer must refuse to allow himself to be transformed into an institution(名流), even if it takes place in the most honorable form.

Other writers have declined it because they feared persecution(迫害) .The Soviet writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn did not travel to Stockholm for his ceremony in 1970, because he was concerned that the Soviet Union would not allow him to return afterwards. The committee refused Solzhe nitsyn’s request for a public ceremony at the Swedish Embassy in Moscow, so he initially turned down the prize , but formally accepted it in 1974 after he was exiled(放逐) But while it is possible to refuse to accept the prize money , it isn’t possible to re fuse the title. According to the statutes(法令)of the Nobel Foundation , Nobel Prizes cannot ever be returned.

28. Which word can replace the underlined word “screen” in Paragraph 1?

A.Ignore

B. Examine

C. Abuse

D. Blame

29. Why did Sartre refuse the Nobel Prize?

A.To keep things unchanged

B.He thought ill of the prize

C.To avoid adding weight to his name

D.The committee’s letter arrived too late

30. What did Solzhenitsyn’s ask the committee to do ?

A.Help him travel to Stockholm

B.Award him in Moscow

C.Publish his works worldwide

D.Protect him from being prisoned

31. What would be the possible result if Dylan refused the award?

A.The prize money would belong to him

B.The award would be still listed in his name

C.He would be forced to attend the ceremony

D.Someone else would accept the title instead.

D

Since the sharing economy came into existence , it has been emerging in neighborhoods throughout the US and around the world and it has grown in recent years to include everything from apartment sharing to car sharing to community tool sharing.

The new form of economy often feels like a place full of well-off Millennial(千禧一代), digital natives, who have smartphones, credit cards and reliable Internet connections. It’s easy for them to open an app, push a few buttons, and have a taxi on their doorstep within minutes, or press a few laptop keys and find the best sofa to crash on(睡觉)for a few days.

However, this new economic model could serve to benefit more than the average smartphone user. A paper released earlier this year by new York University found that those with the most to gain are the low-income participants in thi s new economy, “We highlight (突出强调) this finding because it speaks to what may eventually be the true promise(前景)of the sharing economy as a force that democratize(使大众化)access to a higher standard of living.” The researchers wrote in the paper, which ana lyzed data from a car rental app.

Renting out items is a way in which those with lower income can benefit from the sharing economy. Emily Badger wrote in The Washington post ,”The ability to make extra income off expensive items makes those less expensive, which is worth trying ,” For example, Badger notes , an extra $20 here or there for a waitress renting out her car could serve to really make her income more than a lawyer’s. That said , in the real world , there‘s yet to be strong evidence that large numbers of lower –income consumers are actually taking advantage of such service.

For individuals, the sharing economy is helping to save---- or even create--- money and time for consumers, and may even help those with less money the most. However, there’re still many limitations on advocating the sharing economy.

32. Why does the author refer to The Millennials?

A.To introduce a new form of economy

B.To show a common idea of the sharing economy

C.To stress they play a big role in this economy

D.To prove such economy is profitable for them

33. What do the researchers say about the sharing economy?

A.It may improve people’s life

B.Not everyone benefits from it

C.It benefits phone users most

D.It can narrow the wealth gap

34. What ‘s Emily Badger’s attitude to the sharing econom y?

A.Neutral

B. Doubtful

C. Supportive

D. Critical

35. What does the text mainly talk about?

A.The future of the sharing economy

B.The limitation of the sharing economy

C.The development of the sharing economy

D.The advantage of the sharing economy

Five Ideas for Better Sleep

Most teens need about 8.5 to more than 9 hours of sleep each night. But about 1 in 4 teens has trouble sleeping. 36 It can affect sports performance, increase our chances of getting sick, and may be linked to weight gain in some people.

How can we get the sleep we need? Here are some ideas.

37 You have probably noticed how much running around little kids do---and how well they sleep. Get at least 60 minutes of exercise a day. Physical activity can decrease stress and help people feel more relaxed. Just don’t work out too close to bedtime because exercise can wake you up before it slows you down.

Avoid alcohol and drugs. Lots of people think that alcohol or drugs will make them relaxed, but that’s not the case. Drugs and alcohol increase a person’s chance of waking up in the middle of the night.

38 Experts recommend using the bedroom for sleep only. If you can’t make your bedroom a tech-free zone, at least shut everything down an hour or more before lights out.

39 Going to bed at the same time every night helps the body expect sleep. Relax every night by reading, listening to music, spending time with a pet, or writing in a journal.

Expect a good night’s sleep. Str ess can cause insomnia(失眠), so the more you suffer from not sleeping, the greater the risk you’ll lie awake staring at the ceiling.40 Say,“Tonight, I will sleep well”several times during the day.

A.Keep a sleep routine.

B.Be active during the day.

C.Say goodnight to electronic equipment.

D.Everyone has a sleepless night once in a while.

E.Instead of worrying that you won’t sleep, remind yourself that you can.

F.It can also help to practice breathing exercises or gentle yoga poses before bed.
