She is worried that her son might not come home soon, so she sews every stich carefully hoping to make it last longer. This poem praises the love of mothers. In the first two lines, the characters “thread” and “coat” imply the inseparable bond between mother and son. In the l ast two lines, the poet compares a mother’s love to sunlight, which helps the grass grow day by day. And such great kindness cannot be easily repaid.
