The day before yesterday, my classmates and me went to the park near my school. Can you guess that what we did there? Not for amusement but to take part in a volunteer labour. They reached the park at nine o'clock. The whole class divided into three groups. Group One planted trees and watered flowers. Group Two was told to pick up litter(垃圾) leaving by the tourists and cleaned all the benches. The group where I was in wiped all the equipments in the Children's Playground. All of us worked hardly. Before noon we finished working. Each of us feel a little bit tired, so we were happy because we had done a good deed.

Last week, I, together with my friends, visited Mount Yuntai in Henan Province. It is famous as its beautiful and unique scenery. We gathered at the school gate at 7:00 am. Two hours late we arrived by bus. On arriving, we set about climb in groups. At noon, we got together at the Geological Museum to watch some exhibits, where show how geological structures form. Then we had lunch and take a break. At 2:00 pm, we continued my exploration regardless of tiredness. We met at that is called Zhuyu Peak at 4:00 pm. After taking some photo, we walked down the mountain. At 6:00 pm, we returned back to school. It was unforgettable trip. I felt excited by the amazed beauty of nature.

Last Saturday, our school had organized all of the Senior 1 students to visit the children at a local orphanage. We took many books that was popular among children, as well as many kinds of school supplies and toys, to children. They were delighted to receive these gift. We played some games together and gave performances. Before leave the orphanage we took photos with them and gave them our contact details but we could keep in touch with one another.
That day, each one of us had an enjoyable time. We gave the children their care and help; for return, they gave us their smiles and love. These voluntary activities made a deeply impression on us.

The day before yesterday, I went to the bookstore where is near our school to buy a reference book. It was Saturday, so there was many people. Under the help of the shop assistants, I quickly got the book I needed. I was about to leave while I found someone trying to steal a man’s money. Although I was nervous, but I tried to think of a way to help. Suddenly, a good idea occurred me. I stepped on the man’s foot on purposes. As expected, the man’s scream gives the thief a fright, who quickly walked out of the shop. After hear my explanation, the man smiled and showed great gratitude to him.

At Chinese New Yea r, my family and I have a very busy time. Two days before New Year’s Day, I went out with my friends from school to the seafood restaurant in Pudong. It was the noisiest restaurant which I had ever been to, and the food was cheap and delicious. After that, we went to shopping for new clothes and found lots of bargain. I visited my old teacher, Mr. Smith. For my surprise, he said he didn’t find Chinese New Year very excited. He was even wearing new clothes! Because we have so many tests this week, I have to start studying hard again now. How I wish the holiday were long than ever before!

In recently years many young people prefer to go shopping on the Internet. People have different opinion about online shopping. Some think online shopping was more convenient and the goods are cheap. However, other believe it is unsafe to buy goods by credit card. And it is possible to check the quality of the goods.
As far as I am concern, going shopping in a store is a better way. It is a fun to walk around stores and looking at various goods on sale. We can choose what we really need and even find a good bargain. However, we can chat with the shop assistant and acquire a lot of useful information.

Last Tuesday，the Students’ Union in our school advised that Senior Three students Shall do something specially for their parents on their 18th birthdays. All the students are active in responding it and most of them have come up With their ideas．Some choose to write a letter saying it’ s best way to express their appreciations as well as love for their parents．Others will prefer to cook a big meal to show that they’ ve already grown up．
As for me, I want to do up hair and wash feet for my parents．By doing which my parents have been doing for me I can really know how much they’ ve devoted to bring me up．Being 18 years old mean that we should learn to be independent and that we should be responsible for us.

How to protect our eyesight
Nowadays, a lot of students wear glasses because we are shortsighted .Why are such many students shortsighted?
There are many reasons. Many students read books that is too close to their eyes; many students read books in dim lights; many students read for long time with no time to relax their eyes. What should we do to avoid shortsightedness?
First, we should read in bright light to protecting our eyes. Secondly, if your eyes are aching, doing some eye exercises can relieve your eyes’ pains. Final, we’d better to get more sleep so that our eyes can get more rest.
For the saying goes, eyes are the windows to our soul. If you follow the methods mentioning above, you can surely have good eyesight.

Zhang Xiaowen, who is sixteen, a middle school student in Northern China. She is one of the best student in her class and she was won an award for young scientists last year. They have probably heard of some horrible stories about other kids and thinking we might do the same. Or perhaps they just want to connect with us and are doing it all wrong. My suggestion is: Tell them we want them to trust us as many as we’d like to trust them. If you don’t think you can talk to them, write them a letter and leave it lie around --- they are bound to read it. Thank you!
