语法：形容词比较级和最高级比较级的构成大多数形容词有比较级和最高级的变化。

形容词的原级、比较级和最高级可用来表示事物的等级差别。

原级即形容词的原形。

比较级和最高级有规则变化和不规则变化两种。

a·规则变化①大多数单音节形容词的比较级和最高级的构成是在其原级后面加上-er和-est：small– smaller–smallest new – newer – newest②一个辅音字母结尾的闭音节形容词，双写结尾的辅音字母，再加-er和-est构成形容词的比较级和最高级：big – bigger – biggest thin – thinner – thinnest此类词除big，thin以外，还有red，fat，hot，wet 等。

③以不发音的e结尾的单音节形容词，只需在原级后加-r和-st构成形容词的比较级和最高级：large – larger – largest nice – nicer – nicest④以“辅音字母+y”结尾的双音节形容词，改y为j，再加-er和-est构成形容词的比较级和最高级：easy – easier – easiest heavy – heavier – heaviest⑤少数以-er，-ow。

-le结尾的双音节形容词，末尾加-er和-est构成形容词的比较级和最高级：clever – cleverer – cleverest narrow – narrower – narrowest⑥其他双音节形容词和多音节形容词可与more连用构成其比较级形式，与most连用构成其最高级形式：useful – more useful – most useful expensive – more expensive – mostexpensiveb. 不规则变化有少数形容词的比较级和最高级是不规则变化，必须熟记。

little– less–least many /much – more – mostbad /ill– worse – worst old – older /elder – oldest /eldestgood /well（健康的）–better – best far – farther /further – farthest /furthest注意：elder 表示“年长的”，指家庭成员之间的长幼关系，只能用作定语，不能与than 连用；older指“更老的，更旧的”。

（副词）注意：在否定句中可用not as(so) + 原级+ as 与……不一样，不及……例：It is not as (so) cold in Shanghai as in Beijing in winter．冬天上海的天气没北京的天气冷。

(形容词) The girl doesn’t run as quickly as the boy. ；女孩跑得不如男孩快。

（副词）2．比较级+ than 表示“…比…更…”This hotel is cheaper than that one across the street．这家宾馆比街对面那家更便宜。

(形容词)It is quicker to take a underground than to take a bus．坐地铁比坐公交车快。

Mary writes more carefully than Tom. Mary 写得比Tom 更认真。

（副词）3．比较级+ 比较级表示：”越来越…”It is getting colder and colder these days．这些天天气越来越冷。
