Lesson34 Modern Olympics
一、教材分析
本单元主要是围绕奥运会和世界纪录来展开话题，通过本单元的学习，使学生了解有关奥运会的发展历史和世界纪录的相关情况，乐于接触并了解异国文化。

Lesson34主要是介绍现代奥运会的相关知识，让学生了解现代奥运会的基本信息，并敢于用英语来表述信息。

二、教学目标：
1、语言知识：
掌握词汇：America,peace
接触词汇：continent，torch,slogan,reflect,mascot,feature,fairly
短语： no matter，stand for，stay the same
2、语言技能：通过本课的学习培养学生综合运用语言的能力，有效提高学生听说及阅读能力。

3、情感态度：让学生通过本课的学习，了解现代奥运会的相关知识，培养学生乐于接受异国文化的意识以及爱国情怀。

五、教学步骤
Step1、Leading in
Play the song You and Me and ask ：Do you like the song? Is it beautiful?
Who sang the song? What do you think of when you listen to the song？
【设计思路】：利用2008年奥运主题歌引起讨论，激发学生兴趣，引入话题。

Step2、Presentation
Show some pictures of the Olympic symbol-------the five rings, the Olympic motto,the Olympic torch,the Olympic slogan and the Olympic mascot.
【设计思路】：创设学习语言的情境，展示图片，激发学习兴趣，在谈论图片时学习生词及本课重点短语，为阅读扫除障碍。
