Dream It Possible
When I was a child, nothing makes me more interested than sitting in my grandfather’s garden looking at the stars. Back then, my grandfather will hold my small hands and sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars softly. It is the happiest moment I can remember. I innocently told my grandfather that I want to be an astronomer. He smiled kindly and told me to go for my dreams .
Five years ago, my grandfather passed away. With a mournful heart, I came to Quanzhou alone. For the first time of life, far away from home, I realized how important my family means to me. But Iphone has just been released to the market and smart phones were not so common. I have no friends to chat with and the time was limited to talk to my parents. If I wanted to go out on weekends the market was filled with the crowd. In addition if I wanted to tour distant places it was hard to book a taxi. The only thing I did was sitting in my room, keeping dairy, looking up the sky, and dreaming about the universe. The most cheerful thing was watching our astronaut teaching in space and got a new book called Lonely Hearts of the Cosmos.
With the rapid development of economy and the remarkable improvement of people's living standard. As a senior high school student, I was able to Skype with my parents anytime and take a cab to have fun with my roommates. What’s more, when I am lacking of learning materials or daily supplies, I can get what I need in three days by pressing the ‘Buying’key on Taobao or Amazon. As a space crazy lover, I never forgot my little dream. I realized that the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope FAST, which is also the biggest aperture radio telescope in the world is making great contribution to our country and the world. I remark the workers behind it as my heroes and make a promise that one day I will be one of them. Therefore, I am putting much more energy on study than before. For my grandfather and my dream as well. As what President Xi has said to us,” Dreams begin from studying. Action always speaks louder than words.”
